I don't really like doing this well headphones but yeah it's fine we are episode 17 17 episode 17 and we

I'm like that but now that we since we are in the studio's of hot 97 and not with our favorite sound engineer Joey in

that 95 degrees studio or with our favorite sound engineer a Jays DJ Juanito a guy Juanito thanks Juan who

didn't want to hook my headphones up

anyway so I said I guess since we're at hot 97 we should talk summer jam yes I

know I got a lot of tweets of people asking for some behind-the-scenes info and things and I actually don't have any

well I have questions I wasn't there okay a lot of my hoes were working so I didn't want to pop up in the mix there

at ty dolla sign yes didn't hear one thing about his performance I did it was

actually really dope he came on second the thing is he was actually supposed to go on at the end and they switch that

around cuz to be honest to close out Summer Jam contrary to popular belief you know about headlining

shows and things that's actually not ideal and it never has been a few years ago I remember they were like leaving

like Usher performed to damn near an empty stadium when he closed out so it's really not a personal sure clothes less

you know no you know I want to say that was I was there I want to thank mr. yeah

I wanna say 2010 but it's nothing personal against the artist it's just these kids have been out there since two

o'clock in the afternoon and it gets to a point where it's like alright I think I'm leaving and the parking lots gonna

be crazy so let me get out before the very last act it's kind of usually what always happens and so Todd didn't want that to happen

to him so he ended up going on much earlier in the day I believe he was the second act but he was dopey brought out

was Khalifa and the stadium went [ __ ] crazy when we didn't boys came on like I'd imagine

crazy I mean the boys out last year I feel like Wiz was there like yeah he was there last year and he performed with

that he was swarmed super early to he went on like I think he was like the first or second act last year but I think we didn't boys was only marinating

for like a month or two at that point I was really intoxicated last year so my memory of Summer Jam besides unit is

very vague yeah I never really know much because I never actually got to see the show but but yeah so he did that and

then he brought out the age loaf and she did try me oh damn I would love to see that which was weird too she was also

supposed to come out with Omarion who was the opening act he went on before tie which would have made sense because they were gonna do the post to be remix

and that didn't happen did janae come up no janae was not there but she's not on

the remix so that didn't matter actually she still has the main part of that record yeah but that would've been dope if they did

do the remix cuz they had everyone else there they had Omarion they had ty dolla sign they had Troy songs and they had Dage that they didn't ever cross but I

actually don't care for that verse I actually edited it on my iTunes to skip to that part alright so there was ty

then who went next um I don't know but I know that fabulous had easily the most

talked about Seth I watched fabs I loved fab set I thought it was amazing that he

got all those people in 30 minutes cuz that is not an easy thing to do yeah even though it sounds like it yet is

very [ __ ] difficult yeah that was really really dope I thought little Kim and mobb deep doing Quiet Storm was

[ __ ] amazing I know every everyone on Twitter is preaching the new New York

which I agree with and I want to see those kids shine but it was still great in that nostalgic part of New York I

would say the Manolo Rosa's trip Izzy

pardon if I'm saying that wrong yeah I haven't gotten into his music but people

seem to like it I like Manila rose a lot I think he makes really catchy records

obviously shmurda but yeah we'll pray for him he hold it down well yeah it was

great to see the nostalgic [ __ ] like I know people weren't Twitter like we've seen busted a thousand times I know but

it was still dope and also people like it didn't make any sense how did that make sense fabs whole rollout was 90

stadium because you consider that it's a lot of young kids that you go into that they really can't appreciate that but it's definitely something that it was

much more appreciated online and and the whole idea of it was much more cool so

that was really dope that that did that I mean they still liked it there was no booze or no like dead quiet but it was definitely not as we received as well as

the DJ started just playing music instead of being like hold up there's one more surprise or two more surprises so that's why a lot of people ended up

leaving as well they thought it was over and then Shrive came out whatever and then Fetty WAP killed it and

unfortunately he did not get to do trap Queen and they were very upset but that's one thing you got to understand

City and mine were between Broadway junction and Far Rockaway yeah nobody

Wi-Fi password like you can't you can't come here after 5:00 p.m.

like literally you cannot get in this building unless you work here so there's still a lot of rules that because of the

stuff that happened years ago that happened but yeah it's a lot better than it used to be but you still like flex

then I was annoyed for a second but then I thought about it it was actually really funny because it literally like the way we were walking so fast it just

felt like everything slowed down in slow-mo and we just like so each other and just grilled and then kept walking

how you came about mixtapes and how did you go but how does one go about getting involved in just mixtapes you just hang

of other people and they had some relationships with a couple of mixtape DJs quite a few mixtape DJs actually but

I you know it was kind of hand-in-hand matters they had relationships I had the skills well we were hoping at the time

that I had to say no because we were just kind of going off blind blind faith and you know we just wanted to kind of

use the mixtapes to you know get creative get some feedback to practice to get better and you know to get a

little buzz in the street and that's exactly what happened yeah cuz I'm sorry you're one of those deals where I knew

Joe Budden's before I knew Joe buttons I didn't know any songs happy macho buns Joe it's in it and that that is that it

really it's kind of how everything's been happening with me from the door and even now that's kind of even and it's

kind of still happening with wit a video would pump it up and with so forth and so far and so forth people seem to you know know the music a lot more than you

know they know the face yeah which made me confused yesterday when you know I just played myself why

not to edit that which made me confused when I watched the MTV the MTV battle and you guys perform and you add who was
