and get this away from just fab. That's the first thing I thought when I saw this video. I said, "See, in LA, nothing looks weird about getting a whole bunch

do it, I'm like, "All right, great. There's a new set of dancers." Because in LA, if you just go to the gas station, [ __ ] dancing. The homeless

think this challenge [ __ ] is is it's not really a I think this challenge thing is is is it

has its pros and I think it's cool because it gives people uh the chance to be noticed for their talent. No, but not

just this choosy challenge for all the challenges that come out when when an artist puts a record out. It kind of shines light on, you know, creatives and

dancers and and things like that that we might not normally see. I like but I hate it because it's like it's it's

if it comes off organic, it works way better than you posting like, "Yo, I got

were responding to Gucci who brought it back up again but brought up that whole situation where Gucci went on the

Breakfast Club and said to Angela like, "Yo, you wanted me to [ __ ] a while ago." Okay, I remember that now. Yeah.

So, this is [ __ ] from 3, four years ago that they're still harping on. Yeah. Okay. Um and then Charlemagne decided to sit

with Gucci to do an interview and it was brought back up. Because I guess they was just back on the club

talking about it. Compelling [ __ ] I know. I know. Varks.

I know. I'm intrigued. I can't wait for the day of [ __ ] just want to sit down and talk to other men.

supposed to be that because Envy says once Angela uh said she didn't want to do it, then he was like, "All right, I'm

cool. I'm not doing it. Well, Gucci, I understand what it's like to be banned from the Breakfast Club, and I know how frustrating it can be.

some real feelings towards Angela. He might be upset about some things, but we just got to be careful of, you know, how we address certain things. Like he's in

a way different space now. He's uh he's looked at as a real cool. He's on, you know, he's healthy. He's mentally he

seems like he's in a better uh space. So to see him go there, I know, like I said, they have history and whatever

upset him, but we got to be careful about with [ __ ] like that. Well, like he said in this in in this clip, he feel like they did some nasty

Well, Charlemagne the God gave me a heads up when this interview was done and I told

him to play it. This isn't the first time I've been threatened by an artist and probably won't be the last time.

I've never been slapped or snuffed or jumped before, so I'm not sure where that came from, but funny by all means.

Uh Gucci Gucci was never banned from the Breakfast Club. When asked

uh when asked, "Would I do an interview without Ye," my reply was, "I will not

do anything unless you clear it with my coworker." We call that riding for your team where I'm from.

defended herself. Never in a million years will I tell my

co-host what to say or what not to say. We share that platform. When Gucci did

that post about Ye, she defended herself on the Breakfast Club and he's mad because I let her do it. I have never

ran from a conversation in my life. My kids are good, my wife is good, and my

dog is excellent. Anyway, I heard uh I heard some lies and wanted to address

type of miscommunication or or maybe once Envy pulled out after you didn't want to do it, Charlemagne was the only

one that would fly and get it done. Now, how that my confusion here is how that

wouldn't end up on the Breakfast Club's YouTube and Charlemagne's YouTube. I don't know. I haven't really factored because I don't care. I'm not that invested. But,

well, to cut you off, I'm going to stop saying not to cut you off when I cut you off. To cut you off,

uh, why would they do all this? And no, this is a no shot at Gucci, but like

rushing to a Gucci interview. We have to have beef with our whole squad on who's going to interview him and all that for

And and and I'm speculating, but maybe Charlemagne saw that it wasn't going to be a breakfast club thing and had this

platform and said, "All right, I'll just do it on that platform." And I guess that's what I'm saying. Should he have not done that? I mean,

of course he should have. Come on, Joe. Joe, you got you got to talk to your people. Of course he should not have done it. You know that. Well, he could do it if

he said, "Yo, I'm doing this thing." And if Angela is fine with it. Yeah. I don't really think Envy in that because

En doesn't really have beef with them. But Ye does. Charlemagne shouldn't have done it. Period. If it was supposed to be a

breakfast club thing, obviously Angela Yei wasn't going to be there. It was probably going to just be Charlemagne and Envy,

then if Envy was like, you know, Angela felt some type of way like, nah. So that's why Envy didn't do it.

Charlemagne wasn't supposed to do You know, let me not speak on on the Breakfast Club because uh you know, we

have relationships with all of these people, but boy, is it important to establish your relationships uh inside

the workplace and outside of it and make sure to never have the lines blurred. Mhm. Because as we're having this

last album, I challenge that that won't introduce a new conversation for the people that you are saying need to

acknowledge Sihai. He's written on hit records. That's what I would say. He's written for some of the biggest mainstream artists.

It means nothing to me. You got to own it. But he that's what I'm saying. We have you have to do it. But it's our but yeah, but it's also our

job as consumers and listeners to the music that we have to start talking about these artists that are writing and

making dope records. Like just because he's not the clickable artist and you don't rush to click his name when you

see Sahi. N you [ __ ] got to find a way to cut through the noise. Yes, you're right. Mo, we have we have to start talking

about them more. We have to start judging [ __ ] on all of the abilities that you just named. But I'm also judging [ __ ] on their

ability to adapt to whatever time that they're in. Uh recently there's a clip uh that TI put out talking about he

hates he hates [ __ ] that uh want to come up them and spit freestyles. And while I while a lot of fans may not

understand that, most rappers most rappers feel that way. Like the best you can spit the best freestyle in the

world, to me it's not going to mean [ __ ] What type of record can you make? Is it good? Where can it go? What's the

potential? What makes Yeah. What makes me invest my [ __ ] income in you. If we really going to get into it, man, I

keep saying for years, one day we'll have a management conversation. But like for me as a manager to put my entire day

into an artist and only get 20% if that back, boy, do I have to believe in you.

I don't believe in none of you [ __ ] like that. That's me. And it's like, "Oh, Joe, why you want manage artist?" Cuz I hate

artists. And I could also I'm not devoting my whole [ __ ] day.

I'm not devoting my whole day to you [ __ ] self-centered artists who's all about you for 20%.

I mean the main thing in my eyes or at least when I'm looking at artists is if they're not willing to work like if

you're not going to work like I work. Yeah. But the response to that from artists is normally

uh the manager has the you don't have to work like I work because the manager has the ability to manage x amount of

artists. The artist is one artist. You can only have one manager for the most part.

So that's normally the retort that I hear in return. I don't care. Yeah. I that means that means nothing to

me at all. If I got five artists, I expect them five artists to be on my jack damn near 24 hours a day. And

that's going to be annoying. I don't believe in five [ __ ] like that. Some of you are a money grab.

Don't be quiet now. I was about to say when it comes to believing in an artist, I can believe you can make amazing music and I can

like it, but I know that what I love is not the appeal of what the masses is. And being a manager is to make money. is

to push your artist to another level so both of you can eat. I feel you. But

that's that's a really tough position to be in. No, I think that if you believe in someone, you can find a way to make them

money. Not the type of money I'm thinking if I'm getting a small percentage of how I

would eat off that too. You still have to think for yourself. I understand what you're saying. every every artist that that raps like side

like every artist can't be a tech n where you rap in that type of way and draw that amount of income without the

masses loving your music. The difference is the work. Yeah. But I mean tech the difference is

whoever the [ __ ] is uh in the background uh co-signing you. For every tech there's a Travis. For every pusher

there's a Steve Victor. For every like the list goes on and on. Once you start getting to the people that don't have

that person behind them, hey I slaughter house, then the conversation goes and I

can Eminem's oh please please don't do this right now. Um sure but sure I can say that

like and that's the same thing. So it's like yes tech is amazing but more importantly managers need to to to

understand the climate and understand the the the industry and if you have an artist that you think is not going to

fit in what's going on today you need to be honest with your artist like yo listen you you don't really make the music for this climate you know

that doesn't matter always cuz you if you're a good manager you'll find a way to make them fit in or find a way for

them to make viable money sources i.e. TV placements or video game placements

or writing around their weak suit. But then again, if I like the

music, that doesn't mean that that's going to work. Like it it can I am not the end all be my taste is not

and I'm aware my taste is not what usually generates money. Keep it a buck. But there's a lot you just said you said

a lot just now. As a manager, it's not my job to [ __ ] with what your style

whose music tastes your style dictates or not. I'm talking about even just getting to the point of wanting to manage somebody.

That's that's the bigger conversation actually. That's the step I'm at is do I even want to do it.

Most artists that are looking for managers do not need managers because there's nothing to manage. That is a fact.

Just because you are talented does not mean you need a manager. It means you need to work and then when you get to a

certain level and you don't need to move to LA either. I mean it might help depending on where you live. It's the same thing as a man. It's the

same same theory as a man. The time you get a man when you should get a manager is when you need a manager.

When you move to LA is when work dictates you move to LA the same work dictates you.

If you live in a place where you can't get it popping on any level as someone who in the middle of upstate New York in

a small town very small town. No such thing as that. I'm I'm on a I'm on the small market team side of the

NBA for sure. Now but if you live in a city with 20,000 people and there's no venues that you can even perform hiphop.

So, how are you going to build up an audience now with the internet? Of course, it's a little bit different, but it

huge scene in Memphis that us New Yorkers may not have not huge city, big, very big city.
