- 6:28
really enjoyed that shout out to everyone who's here for the jbp sports takes all right come on let's get right
- 6:35
to it man now do we know anybody's feeling good feeling great happy to be here we're do y'all want to start I'm not
- 6:40
starting with death because it's too dark and I'm in a good mood let's get to that a little bit later again rest in peace to all the legends
- 6:46
that we lost over the weekend mom let's start music right yeah Erykah Badu Queen
- 6:52
Erica vs Queen Jill oh my god the Queen's man let me get a round of applause I mean a round of applause
- 6:57
because man it was a you know this was what my soul need it was a sighs spiritual exercise you're my soul oh my
- 7:04
soul needed Mike internally that's what you needed yeah yeah yeah I'm not gonna
- 7:11
hold you but they really reminded me how much better women are than us that's a
- 7:17
fact they're just like when women get in when a woman is a woman like they're better
- 7:23
than us man even their sound uh like everything was better
- 7:29
all right and baidu bodied RZA with the kung fu background come on man everybody
- 7:34
was kung fool fine yes yeah it's true um all right so let me tell the people
- 7:41
what we're talking about Saturday night versus presented by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz calls to by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz
- 7:48
presented to us Erykah Badu versus Jill Scott twenty rounds when it started it
- 7:55
was a wait I was in Erica's and Jill wasn't there and it was about a hundred thousand people in there waiting yeah
- 8:01
and then she couldn't figure it out so I went to Jill's and Jill had about three hundred and seventy-five thousand people in there waiting and then they got
- 8:08
together but before they got together Jill just blasting us over the head with this
- 8:14
poem that was yeah oh man it set a vibe it did its that I was really happy to
- 8:20
hear this poem yeah it was beautiful do we catch the the poetic person that was
- 8:25
behind that I think there was a couple different people yeah I just catch any of the names try to give credit where
- 8:32
credit or Maya Angelou could be wrong I might have felt like that too but I don't wanna be the guy that attributes
- 8:38
every great poem yeah but I really
- 8:44
enjoyed uh whatever poem she was giving us boy did I really enjoy uh Bruce Lee in the background of Erica erica like
- 8:51
were you say Rory but then the battle started I thought if I remember correctly parks picked Jill before the
- 8:57
battle the rest of us picked Erica yeah believe that's a fact Moll you picked
- 9:02
Erica too right yeah I think we were all wrong yeah we all lost facts well we all
- 9:08
won we all the culture won this this time the fans really want you guys as
- 9:15
corny as that is I think this might have been the first time I'll agree with the culture one like no one even kept score
- 9:20
after you got me was played twice well no I don't give a [ __ ] about the score like I said they should do like we all
- 9:28
said they should do no I don't think you said that I'm not no I'm not gonna argue
- 9:34
about who should play you got me I just wanted it was a smart thing to do I just want mall to stop separating himself
- 9:39
from us with things I don't do that you just did it don't all of us sat here and
- 9:48
said oh that would be fly if when one person and here you know I predicted
- 9:54
that [ __ ] no no maybe I don't remember who did you give that round to I got
- 10:00
Erica live version or the regular one I gave it to Erica I always got to go laughs I mean Jill's was worn shoe a
- 10:08
stick like the live performance is way more vocally virtuosic but that's what a live version supposed to be save on if
- 10:14
you hear can you send me uh the tracklist the whole bag today and and send us the definition to virtuosic
- 10:22
I mean if we're gonna start describing music that ways and just forget it buddy you I guess I was cohesive yeah yeah
- 10:30
yeah I would listen I guess I would agree with you I guess if that wasn't Jill's first ever live performance or
- 10:36
her first time meeting no first time writer I think there's gold in it
- 10:41
yeah for sure first time performing live as a vocalist this Carrie there could be
- 10:46
not gold yeah and actually she was highlighting that for me anyway as the
- 10:51
regulars playing she was like can you hear that do you hear how nervous I wasn't and I could hear it yeah so I gave it to Erica just because I could
- 10:58
hear that Jill was nervous to hear but y'all the right I stopped keeping score after a while and and kind of how Black Thought introduced her it wasn't like
- 11:06
she was just alright we had this is the singing chick that we bring on tour that's just gonna do all our singing it's like this is the woman that wrote
- 11:12
it she from Philly like he set it up yeah yeah you did yeah that wasn't just a all right well she's gonna sing this
- 11:18
part they did that thing that black women can do where they just tell [ __ ] hypnotizing stories and make
- 11:25
everyone forget why they're really here it was the only song he forgot it was a battle it was the only time an advert in
- 11:31
the versus battles as a whole where I was in-between I've always like you just play a music fan even even when the
- 11:36
stories was kind of good I was like all right we're here to hear this battle I was glued to my laptop oh wait you guys
- 11:43
are playing music my bad go ahead yeah yeah and then they're just like like
- 11:49
look at them both yeah like you can see so it's beautiful one you can just stare at both of them yeah it was definitely a
- 11:56
total opposite of what I think we thought going into it like it wasn't no caddy mm-hm caddy energy it was like
- 12:03
real dope - homegirls how an apology for even thinking it I said that's the
- 12:08
problem when I be wrong I'd be wrong across multiple platforms like I said that here state of the culture sit still
- 12:15
I like I just be wrong all over the place there was no tension I thought it
- 12:21
was kind of dope I mean Erica had put out one album I think before who was Jill Scott came out
- 12:27
but just still the reverence that Jill Scott even being her friend and working with her and performing with her dad is
- 12:33
still had that like you I was a 27 in North Philly like holy [ __ ] Erykah Badu is singing my [ __ ]
- 12:40
like it's crazy how one album for an artist can kind of change I'm looking more to God than I am it appear mm-hmm
- 12:47
and that still happened what 30 years later mm-hmm yeah it was dope was real dope that was
- 12:54
definitely on of my favorite verses was here a highlight for you I think when uh
- 13:00
Erica's whole family came on to sing uh which Jill Scott it was trying to make
- 13:05
its way was make me cry with that [ __ ] I just love that all her young kids know all the lyrics to this way like I
- 13:13
thought that was fire like because I pay attention to when you get around young kids in certain records you can just
- 13:20
tell that they're what their parents play in the house what told you about it because I pay attention to detail that
- 13:25
person but you ever been around like more eclectically musically inclined kids where it's like oh I your parent
- 13:31
plays a lot of music in the house from their generation yeah like this kid shouldn't be humming this record no yeah
- 13:38
mister yeah that was dope that was dope to see that um but again I think that was just showing us exactly how you know
- 13:45
the relationship between Eric and Joe is that like they really have like genuine love for each other
- 13:50
I like seeing how and I said this before I like seeing the the big bro little bro
- 13:58
I like being able to see it because you could see it like Teddy Riley will always be that dude for me but again you
- 14:06
could see that he was little bro yeah because big bro even if you don't
- 14:11
acknowledge him as big bro he moves like big bro so yeah I like seeing that with Ericka and Jill too even though like you
- 14:18
said their careers are not separated by a whole bunch of years nah but the respect level and the amount of
- 14:24
experience and tutelage that Erica had and was able to share that was on full
- 14:30
display and am kind of the opposite to going from the big broad a little bro of
- 14:36
now you got to play that record long walk when she was being sarcastic saying that I wrote for you like just saying I
- 14:41
really wish I wrote that and I don't want to make this a Kanye Drake thing but before that whole thing happened I loved when Kanye was saying
- 14:48
during watch the throne when this dis hoe Drake energy came I had to shift my whole life at that point there's someone
- 14:54
younger and newer and has much more idea of what's going on currently in the
- 15:00
music space that I have to pay attention to now and I don't know if that was directly what Erika was saying but I'm sure she when Jill Scott came on the
- 15:07
scene and who was Jill Scott's like alright someone else has entered my genre that I need to pay attention to
- 15:12
yeah yeah back to me saying that there's gold in writing something for the first
- 15:18
time when Jill Scott explained that that was the first song that she of course so
- 15:23
that she ever wrote before somebody first placement when I started singing it I was like to him how did I not catch
- 15:33
that sound it sounds like it yeah but the genius in that is if you take a 20
- 15:39
time Grammy award-winning writer and let them write something it's gonna sound like that like yeah the similarities
- 15:46
between the genius you come up with as a novice and the genius you come up with
- 15:51
as an established writer he is just it's just intriguing to me it's intriguing to me yeah which I maybe could kind of
- 15:58
attest to like the sophomore slump album thing like you just have so much positive thinking and going into your
- 16:05
first time doing something like that you have it you haven't been kind of ruined
- 16:11
by the reality of the music business like I think you're just so happy to do [ __ ] I think it's a lack of not thinking
- 16:17
yeah more or less well you're the sausage there's less there's less distractions the sophomore
- 16:22
album typically fails like that and that way that terminology came from because
- 16:28
you're trying and I'm gonna say this I think when Jill went in tanned speaking for her but when she went into that
- 16:34
session I'm sure she's a white man you think you could speak for black woman I know it's crazy it's insane that that's happening um cancel me the expectations
- 16:47
are much different you're not solely focused like she was paint in the studio she was saying like
- 16:52
our expectations aren't on this huge pedestal that now I have to focus on
- 16:57
every word that I'm doing because I know it's gonna be torn apart and ripped apart like I'm just writing mmm yeah so yeah I agree with you and
- 17:04
saying that the novice of just walking into a studio for the first time and writing some [ __ ] can sound better yeah there's no distraction there's no
- 17:11
expectation there's no [ __ ] that comes along with what I'm writing vessel
- 17:16
doesn't hurt when you have a bunch of musical geniuses around you yeah I mean the question people I totally disagreed
- 17:23
it sure could hurt sure what can make you nervous yeah did you I was just
- 17:28
about to say that before you say that part [ __ ] you're bringing me in around the goats all right these are the
- 17:34
Great's that pressure don't build everybody up to perform to the best of their ability
- 17:39
let's sure this guy parks I was just gonna say I said to say that when you have people around you that know there
- 17:46
are artists and creatives and brilliant people that know to let you do your thing you know what I'm saying like I'm
- 17:52
pretty sure they they were stepping on her toes or or can pick her a genius okay all right yeah I see these three words
- 17:58
keep focusing on these three words like you have something right here that can be helpful but back to that of whatever
- 18:04
episode we were talking about with artists that you have to be able to market yourself or this and that and
- 18:10
some people just want to make music to that point you also need to step up like as a human being like some people would
- 18:16
be terrified in that situation and run away from it that also is a factor that needs to be part of an artist repertoire
- 18:22
like I need to be able to step up when the pressure is on to deliver yeah that's that's part of artistry and she'd
- 18:29
be a lot of times people do that they like they'll they'll put the new the songwriter or the vocalist they'll put
- 18:36
them in a room with like people that they know they're like you know they look up to and just to see how they
- 18:41
handle it how they react to it and that's how you sometimes you able to differentiate like who is actually gonna
- 18:48
last in the business yeah like when you put like an up-and-coming artist in a room with somebody they probably
- 18:53
probably look up to and they handle that in a way where you know they say hello at a quadruped within this business like they're doing what they're there to do
- 19:00
those are the ones that's using omegat wants that fan I don't go crazy so I got you you're just happy to be you're not
- 19:06
really trying to make an impact like that I want to stop I want us to talk about the the battle the next next
- 19:12
week's battle that they teased Nellie verse ludicrous but should we talk about that first or should we give credit to
- 19:19
the for women that are atop the Billboard chart right now while we're on women could do that quickly
- 19:25
good let's give the flower yeah yeah Meg dosha cat Nikki Beyonce number one well
- 19:36
deserved both really good records yes music someone rolling dice oh I think
- 19:47
the three of y'all could redo this as men's night
- 19:54
hey who going first ball is definitely Angie now rim could do this no you don't
- 20:07
wanna do Angie part no I'm cool oh yeah
- 20:12
Rory go come on telling y'all to bang this in your whips that's true I wonder if Angie ever decided if she
- 20:18
was gonna go to LaGuardia at Kennedy it's such a tough decision really is got
- 20:23
traffic on one hand she said that bar was like just not she's got a point
- 20:29
though Angie really eights when you bring up uh any of her lyrics Angie's
- 20:34
record good though I can see that I can see her like that's nothing at that it that's not where she I love it what are
- 20:41
you and her records was good they were bad Angie oh she had a saying like let's not
- 20:49
get it twisted a project wasn't bad I just tried still trying to figure out why beef twist the car you always listen
- 21:02
congratulations to doja cat Nicki Minaj Beyonce and Meg the stallion first time
- 21:08
in history that we have four women atop the four black women at the top the Billboard charts sitting at 1 & 2 huge
- 21:15
accomplishment this is Nicki's first number-one super super super happy for her though yeah I saw that that tweet
- 21:23
too and I was like really I thought starships was past number one well that was my like week that's cuz it was number one in your
- 21:29
heart that's true it definitely started starships one Nikki Wallace you're number one in my yeah but starships was
- 21:35
just [ __ ] though my face oh yeah this is the first number one I wasn't shocked
- 21:42
everybody knows that I wasn't shocked about that cuz I felt like if Nikki ever had a number one she would not let us
- 21:47
forget that she's already had a number one like we kind of be knowing he's fast cuz they post them well here's the thing
- 21:52
I'm starting to get really confused with stats we gave me two I'm lost I care but I'm lost with records I'm lost with
- 21:58
billboard I don't get any of it and now I really don't care none of it matters it doesn't but I'm happy that they got
- 22:05
that cuz both those records are really good well I'm happy they got it because I know I know they all wanted it will
- 22:10
put the exception of Beyonce of course probably I'm cheap I wanted it to for Houston well even then I read something
- 22:16
that heard ed Sheeran song whatever that came out for whatever movie it was was like Beyonce's first number one I was
- 22:21
like since [ __ ] when I don't get any of these debts yeah me I know that Mae wanted the song that the Reese tatata
- 22:28
it's a huge accomplishment yeah I feel like Dozier same applies for her I know
- 22:34
I'm not too familiar with those you can't I know it really makes the music
- 22:39
if you tell you a personality in the world made a song called [ __ ] I'm a cow I'm not gonna listen to him do you like
- 22:46
cows I don't eat a lot of steak alright so maybe give it a shot maybe if you're
- 22:52
a cow - I'm not a cow see you went over your head their lyrical venom one ova
- 22:58
I'm not I'm not a cat and if I was a cow I'm gonna dig a verse about being a cow
- 23:05
well are you gonna live your truth I would say you only come in the booth with truth I'd be the first guy with metaphors or maybe [ __ ] I'm a cow is
- 23:15
enough for now everybody the first guy when other hand and we'll setups
- 23:21
around get you let the chickens play
- 23:28
you sound like a battle rapper when it starts struggling yeah it's like now we heard you fam that y'all want me to
- 23:35
rewind and then they tap their man let's going over they head they only hear
- 23:43
there's great about watching the battle rappers man you could tell when he's trying to overripe some [ __ ] that's
- 23:50
the greatest thing ever and you could tell when he knows Manchu bladder is my
- 23:56
favorite oh he's still trying to be confident cuz cuz not a rapper dude still hitting his man cuz this man heard
- 24:02
the verse already yeah yeah I'm glad they kind of did it the man sitting different up here you know like the
- 24:14
older Mook battles like his friends used to rap the verse with him the whole time I used to hate this [ __ ] like were you
- 24:20
rehearsing it's the entire time which a man why he know this verse better than you he doesn't hurt it for the last
- 24:28
three summers that hurt him Bo yeah every line I killed my living room way that kind of didn't work hollow didn't
- 24:48
go over so well on stage you know you know hollow listen this right now I told you guys they'd serve throat everything
- 24:54
shut up the hollow man oh yeah congratulations to Nicky Beyonce meg and those you can't I thought
- 25:00
save on was up in arms that she didn't show her titties like promised oh yeah
- 25:06
there people were killing her she promised she promised a nude pic or some right she said she would show her titties very hard I expect that from the
- 25:12
[ __ ] I'm a cow mind listen when she did a response video I started to like her
- 25:19
more like yeah yeah I got fooled sorry the [ __ ] you want from me I'm not
- 25:24
showing you mind she got it she get see that's the thing to like people only know her for that record but like if you really listen to her like she has a lot
- 25:30
of like good record when she was underground you will come in with some positive vibes for the women mone that's
- 25:39
how I knew her huh y'all just don't doze you care now I mean she was underground
- 25:46
yeah that's what Morgan oh she was onto no boy told you cat fan but I wouldn't hurt like nobody even heard that one
- 25:52
bike no that's how I knew I only knew her for the [ __ ] I'm a cow record man I was like I thought that was just some
- 25:58
gimmicky [ __ ] but then when I started sending me like records I'm like oh she can know she can make it like a few yeah
- 26:03
she's good music cigarette really does yeah you reached out know like you were
- 26:08
you working on something no I deleted a comment underneath snow
- 26:20
snow Allegra's Instagram all week oh god well I think I'm happy you have I deleted him she don't seem like she with
- 26:27
with that whatever you're about to say what no that's why I delete him yeah she's sitting that into that stuff no
- 26:33
she's not I use going crazy under her pigs I mean was that going crazy over
- 26:38
she just you by the way no it was just nice he was nice she was going into a
- 26:44
little quarantine outfit to go to the store I'm home like work don't go to the store like that I'm so happy you deleted these I'm not
- 26:51
even say that okay Joe gave her the
- 26:58
tongue emoji in public not everybody
- 27:05
gave a public tongue yeah she's just so cool to me she's just so cool to me shut
- 27:19
the [ __ ] up I want to tell you I am what we tell you yes yes look you know this
- 27:25
podcast is only based about 40 we support you though I just want to hear
- 27:31
your mind like what you think is corny mouse ear after don't laugh before
- 27:38
theater after I deleted all the comments that I almost wrote mm-hmm clicked on a
- 27:46
law into the insta snap this morning right well yesterday and this morning she's posting some tunes like songs she
- 27:53
thought was cool oh oh it's tearing me into the oh I just have such a
- 28:00
connection with your music face is such
- 28:07
a vine oh my god I will say though I won't let
- 28:28
you be on this ledge but by yourself in
- 28:33
my younger in my younger days so last year younger guys I'm in my 30s now
- 28:39
everyone relax no Rory get the aux and try to freak off freak off find the
- 28:46
connector track definitely I was definitely the put you on two vibey
- 28:51
here's a mixtape here's a playlist well playlist that weren't really popping in
- 28:57
but yeah I burnt a few discs in my day
- 29:03
we spoke about that though like Nick is used to make CDs like you know that was like my [ __ ] though yeah that was [ __ ]
- 29:10
yeah if a girl asks you to send out playlist now that's that's for me there you gotta just send it to her without to
- 29:16
ask no I gotta get that playlist that's creepy yeah yeah you got let me kill that is a joke
- 29:24
I don't even talk like that I don't even talk like that is so aggressive would
- 29:40
you until you you said that back to me I'd been saying that for like seven years eight years until you said it back
- 29:47
to me I was like yeah it does sound kind of crazy for him it's crazy listen I thought beat was a
- 29:53
little crazy but we rock we rock with beat kill is now we can't go to fans
- 29:59
gotta get rid of beat if we get rid of beat it's like I we we hit fam she's not a board game she it's not like the final
- 30:06
level of something thank you didn't beat her or his ten boss she shoot herself with you though
- 30:11
you shared a knee you need to get outside hi I don't worry about it forget it
- 30:16
don't worry about it listen you made love to her you know men are so stupid
- 30:26
no we just dumb like managers don't be uh come on let's talk about the battle
- 30:31
that they teased Nellie verse ludacris we got [ __ ] to talk about so we sitting there bullshitting around we're gonna be
- 30:38
a five-hour joint Nellie verse ludicrous I'll be honest I'm a little surprised at the Nellie disrespect even if you think
- 30:43
that this is ludicrous yeah I Joe I was in my I can't believe
- 30:49
it Pacey I was I was outraged at the Nelly disrespect I have Luda winning but
- 30:54
the fact the way y'all speaking about Nelly is crazy it hurts me me to know that I have million era belly losin you
- 31:02
know what's funny I have Luda winning only because of his his features like when he start playing madeyewlook and
- 31:09
lovers and friends and I don't have him playing stomp with Young Buck but if he did like he just got big features his
- 31:16
anthems are like really anthems and boy there's a lot of them he got intros from his albums he could play like I think
- 31:23
Nelly it's gonna have our time keeping the same momentum for 20 joints like
- 31:28
yeah for about 13 14 joints in Ellie's right Nellie's right they're going crazy
- 31:34
cuz some of his hits are a little like you're not gonna play the country record but that was a huge record whoa whoa
- 31:40
whoa whoa that's a mile later around I don't know if I'm not playing that Tim McGraw record I'm playing that in the last five Nelly has a country record
- 31:48
that might not be the Tim McGraw record that is fire fire that I heard in every Walgreens for like five years
- 31:55
yeah you can't disrespect Nelly though Nelly got too many he got so many hits I was I was settlement is yeah but yeah
- 32:04
and he got hit by both of them but Nelly got he got pop hits like when it was
- 32:10
like you had to really put a record out it wasn't no streaming it's like he was able he was doing no one's diamond
- 32:15
around was here like he was doing numbers when it was like the numbers it was hard to do numbers like what he was
- 32:21
doing that was like he was on a whole nother level like so I don't understand why it may be but again a lot of these
- 32:26
kids that's online now they were a little too young maybe but then they would also have to be too young to really know about yeah that's and one of
- 32:32
my mentions was like you know they don't know they too young for Nellie I'm like well Lou deserves the same about the same era I'll be too young for Lou yeah
- 32:39
yeah I don't know why he hadhe would disrespect Minnelli has real hit record I think it's a good matchup and I think
- 32:45
that we're really good battle I got Nellie wouldn't this battle [ __ ] it I like it parks I'm still confidence
- 32:52
in oh one right yes mm mm mm no mm and ludica Sabrina
- 32:58
11 for that yeah it was definitely mm mm I was a senior in high school I think Luda first album or nine really no I
- 33:07
said I first saw a little Bow Wow debuting in the what's your fantasy
- 33:12
remix video when I lived with my baby moms on Union and West Side in Jersey
- 33:18
City and that was like a monetary sound whoa huh ludis Fort Lewis Horse albums mm no that
- 33:25
makes sense you remember getting I remember getting dispersed for my birthday wait Park for the first time came out to
- 33:31
those parks what'd you say uh incog-negro was 1999 with what's your fantasy yeah
- 33:36
back for the first time was the joint that was the real first album which had what's your fantasy wanted even if he
- 33:41
came out in 2000 they would have been working what's your fantasy of course tonight okay what are you same [ __ ] you got it but uh I'll be glued to it I'll
- 33:50
be glued to this battle I look forward to it I feel like we suggested this battle a few weeks ago how do you even
- 33:55
remember yeah I felt like we do like we did a country grammar wants to tell them and that made me feel bad a little bit
- 34:01
cuz it's like I want Nelly to go against someone he can like beat like I thought
- 34:07
Nelly I thought Nellie's appearance in this vs. thing would lead people to appreciate what Nelly has done not kill
- 34:14
him more on it you can never get no he's gonna he's gonna earn so I think he's
- 34:20
gonna expect I think I think Nelly end up coming out just the same way Jonte Austin came out of his his verses I
- 34:27
think it would be a new respect form they keep breaking the fight for these Atlanta [ __ ] Atlanta has shown up and
- 34:33
they are real artists these Atlanta guys Jonte went crazy Lil John went crazy
- 34:41
Sean Garrett and dream was from Atlanta so it didn't matter they both went crazy [ __ ] baby face yeah baby
- 34:49
yeah come on man they buggin out wasn't baby face aren't they Cleveland by way of Atlanta yeah but the face what I mean
- 34:54
yeah it's it little yeah yeah yeah fair enough there we gonna fight for Atlanta here comes another land a guy Ludacris
- 35:01
mmm but whatever I'll be watching every guy who - Chris I don't think he's gonna
- 35:07
have the easiest day I don't know II wouldn't this one yeah I'm staying right well thinking that about Nellie I don't
- 35:13
get that no there's got a lot of hits because I went through it in my fin through my Nellie Discogs
- 35:18
and after you've got some [ __ ] he got records my after 15 I had our time with
- 35:24
like a winner against Ludacris yeah that's cuz now Nellie has two giant
- 35:30
albums Luda has a whole catalog like noodle can play all I do is win he's like whoa uh he got mad guest verses
- 35:37
that is powerful and Nelly does not see that okay that not that's the thing
- 35:43
about the verses you won you have rules to be more in order like why are you able to play your guests verses yeah if
- 35:50
that wasn't on your album and that wasn't your record it's like okay you want it right now
- 35:55
well Ludacris made that made you look remix not kiss went crazy with it well
- 36:00
they all went crazy but it was a big record before any of them got on it to it all so that's a huge yeah that was a
- 36:07
[ __ ] monolith the remix agreements are a different record though if that would
- 36:12
be true normally but and it is true he's right whatever is born but when they dropped the beat have you stress you
- 36:18
know on the street like a victim I yeah it was it was a moment yeah the rhemas kind of felt like a different record either way I look forward to it I look
- 36:25
forward to seeing this battle I will be there I will be glued yeah and it's because right yep Saturday
- 36:32
night I like that they move the time up time's up for these version lumps I like a rock star I do too I'm more curious what ludus I
- 36:38
know what Nellie's gonna play I'm not sure how loot is gonna approach this he has a lot to grab from like Luda can
- 36:45
play uh sure yeah yeah he shouldn't though yeah see that's what I'm saying like I'm with Mahler he should
- 36:51
it's like I get it you own the recce become he was a big part woman but it's
- 36:57
not like t-pain where pain can play all this because the hook made the record like unless your verse was the [ __ ] that
- 37:03
made the record I don't know if you should play it like his version sort of kind of made them can Nellie play where the party yet with jagged edge yes I
- 37:09
think he claims that verse was [ __ ] amazing I need to hear that but I don't know if Luda can play every one of his
- 37:15
features I mean especially to me again that not the remixes but yeah he could play cuz that was like that was as much
- 37:23
his song not as much no but it was it was his song too I saw I should recommend Jojo you and I
- 37:30
were talking about underrated this versus fan it's a great record I'm giving Nelly two points when this
- 37:36
come on only because and I figured it
- 37:42
out man when I was watching all the Nelly disrespect I'm like damn why do me as a New York guy have so much of an
- 37:48
affinity for Nelly but Nelly is another one of those dude like I guess if the Midwest dude's got
- 37:54
popping up here like New York took a real different liking to them and Nelly was one of them dudes one shot once a
- 38:01
country grammar the song not the album like worked in New York did he like he
- 38:07
was uh he was one of ours where I was that we like we'd like Milly yeah yeah
- 38:14
yeah everybody like Nelly I wasn't going any marketing and people would would
- 38:20
embrace him I was in speed when he I came out mm-hmm it worked your Nelly got worked in the gloves oh
- 38:26
my let me tell you that I'm not yeah well it worked for no I'll tell you that those we love that record crazy when
- 38:32
that came on she even hot and here worked but by then I was mad cuz I was an artist trying to get a record worked
- 38:38
on radio and yeah was I was I was hot outside as a teenager wouldn't on yours and that work haha when I was trying to
- 38:46
see how my dick worked yeah you wasn't getting a record worked on radio Lahontan here here without I'm here
- 38:51
verse yeah is uh I'm going on here it's a well that's not
- 38:57
fair cuz hiding here's all Nellie's don't play your guest verse against mine against classic yeah for real
- 39:03
and well this is why people can't disrespect Nellie because Nellie has a lot of hit records man like not his
- 39:10
featuring [ __ ] he has he has huge records of his own that's on his his albums y'all don't know what I was doing
- 39:15
in club Envy when hunting here came on take it off all your clothes I was gonna start it on the side of the speaker
- 39:21
grinding on something 1,000% and write it right after that that you said wrong this is from a number one and you can
- 39:27
tell I'm that came on novice let me tell you how wack I am because I used my music intelligence in the club
- 39:34
so when the DJ's sometimes will be scratching a record in too early
- 39:49
underhanded you had to grab something immediately fam you can't just sit there by yourself and love you better comes on
- 39:54
no no no so record you had to leave if that was the case that was a joint I might have got distant club MV bar girl
- 40:00
to that record and just danced with her anyway booze can [ __ ] with me as a an
- 40:11
area dancer now that's a topic how you kind of how you move area how you
- 40:18
maneuver after being dubbed for the dub like yeah you kind of gotta just dance it off and pretend like you area talk
- 40:26
tell you why are you acting like that like you don't see kind of just nice talking it but it is always fun you talk
- 40:32
about how you maneuver after you good dub the topic is just how do you get in her area that's the best watching guys
- 40:38
try to get in the area of the girl that they have targeted and by the way then think we're very incognito in doing that
- 40:45
we can all spot it well tryna it's the easiest thing in the world to spot them because why are you over there
- 40:50
it's that simple you've gotta look at your male ego I go over here what do you do here everybody over here you over
- 40:56
there what you doing over there yeah like dumb ass excuse me pass me a strong okay have a drink why are you reaching over
- 41:05
me to the little straws yeah yeah we should drink it no the super aggressive
- 41:10
dudes that do it like they look like they're casing the whole joint like some [ __ ] might pop off and they really just try to scoot over and dance with shorty
- 41:17
like stop looking around like that dog your skin you're not a fan making me nervous cuz that's how to make them last
- 41:22
a while should use be calculated on how to get in our area now you get over there and just start hitting the awkward
- 41:28
two steps when you get home cuz she see you two homes on a whole time she see
- 41:33
you the whole time I look at this one look look that's when these duck ass [ __ ] just try to act like her song is
- 41:39
his song cookie deal with this one right
- 41:53
I'm trying to talk to you while I'm grooving don't even do that in the clubs
- 42:02
no more however y'all how's your ego been affected when you've kind of got behind
- 42:08
shorty to dance and she was dancing then then did that low turn around look to see if he was cute or not in kucik and
- 42:15
then then she took a step forward right back sorry how'd you go - it's happened every night
- 42:21
the whole night is happening every do your whole night is [ __ ] though I don't want to even tell the me -
- 42:27
movement of some of our shenanigans back there didn't we should about that word you should just edit but women was doing
- 42:34
a - no I was in a club trying to press their buttocks on us of course it was a
- 42:40
thing to buttocks yeah but that's taken advantage don't use the song to try see how big my dick is right now like let me
- 42:49
yeah cuz I'm not even ready like you know me are you doing that now you just got me all wrong that's my step back to
- 42:56
step alone and position the hammer in your pocket
- 43:02
[Laughter]
- 43:07
you want you wanna play let me get some blood flowing yeah we can't even
- 43:15
position the hammer no more nah nah actually you gotta leave the hammer in the car you can't even bring that with
- 43:21
you no more no that's not your opposition to hammer during during the movie during the movie
- 43:27
yeah we know that in the movie theater oh I know you still giving it up like a
- 43:32
movie in the creepy I go upstairs and put your soft pyjamas on with no
- 43:38
underwear yeah yeah this is the [ __ ] that's gonna show it what time it is yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah just lean back lean in in a way where you know is
- 43:45
exposure no but when I got to when I got
- 43:52
to like college party [ __ ] it was when the clothes started to change so like we were wearing tighter pants and
- 43:58
sweatpants were cooler like when she would press her ass on you like now I'm
- 44:05
hard fam I don't have any protection here I have loose ass sweat pants in the club like when the fashion change that
- 44:11
[ __ ] sucked I was used to be protected by cars genom yeah yeah no hard dinner
- 44:17
yeah that was trash like I need to leave I need to go to the bathroom and girls
- 44:25
they so [ __ ] slick anyway cuz wild while the movie is on and she see you went upstairs to slip into something a
- 44:31
little more comfortable and you come downstairs nasty all of a sudden is giving you a little rub on the thigh her
- 44:39
hand keep going hard but you know that I might die up there she knows what's up
- 44:45
there well maybe know what they don't they know they don't and with laughs did
- 44:52
you know oh I wish they could yeah oh they're
- 44:57
good nom cool we can't do that anyway more I
- 45:03
was viciously attacked all weekend and no one was there to help who attacked you all of them everyone did the then
- 45:12
why were you attacking you do deserve to be attacked some sounds Natalie Nunn and Jacob who's oh that's
- 45:18
our man and Breanna Stewart who's that and some other gold medalists Oh
- 45:24
everyone from the Seattle Storm well that's one of my favorite team Breanna got game though she can attack you she
- 45:30
got game if I could make that [ __ ] touch the floor she would she would if
- 45:36
she would have had era shoot I'm kidding I said that in parks Panta is his cat looking at herself yeah listen I've been
- 45:47
attacked man and as a Virgo I'm not ever gonna miss an opportunity to come in here and play victim so it's true and it
- 45:56
narcissus talk about yourself this is like over a comma why do we trash people who play victim well when they're not
- 46:02
supposed to be think when they're not be like you're not the victim fam you so it's like well of course I'm not the
- 46:08
victim that's why I'm playing victim oh so you're just like yeah I'm not funny
- 46:15
at play victim no yes you can yo okay in this situation yes because it's funny playing when people are not the victim
- 46:20
well victim blame the victim it's a turnover from your opponent that's true they do this they threw it out of bounds
- 46:26
are Dewar's you left the lane open if I get to play victim the lane is wide open
- 46:31
for a monster slam so here we are I get
- 46:37
to play victim yes I'm gonna do it no I don't really feel like I'm a victim but
- 46:43
Natalie Nunn attacked me all day long one of those days threatened threatened
- 46:48
to give me beat up by her husband and if that wasn't enough would that be enough
- 46:57
y'all let the y'all let the [ __ ] Seattle storm attack me well you deserve
- 47:02
hell you deserve that part yeah you did either she invited me to a full I mean parks have been inviting you in
- 47:08
mall to a full court and you've been ducking that so no you gonna duck her too y'all don't want that horse and I have
- 47:14
been active y'all don't know what y'all been saying but I don't think y'all won well Joe definitely don't want no part
- 47:20
of be honest to it I could tell you that right now you don't think so no Joe you can absolutely picker I played with you
- 47:25
in 2000 she she has a lot of game I like a lot how many boys you think she could score me all of them how many she want
- 47:33
to school how many does she want to school what if I turn on my lockdown
- 47:38
defense no she'll pick that lock the
- 47:46
people that don't know we talk about the Jordan dock was on they was talking about the Bulls versus the Sonics and the finals they were showing all the
- 47:52
Shawn Kemp Gary Payton highlights I love Seattle so much I missed the Sonics I pleaded a tweeted yo Seattle deserves a
- 48:00
basketball team listen uh they attacked me I was looking for help from my brethren that would be you guys wait we
- 48:08
were supposed to defend you in the show yes y'all are my brethren we're supposed to play them four and four oh let's do
- 48:14
it actually five on four take I have five because we do Jimmy okay so sexist we
- 48:24
all need some subs and holiday they call me sexist because I want the Sonics to come back yeah I don't know
- 48:36
that sexist we should we should play them but I don't like when she said that though like I like whatever I was into
- 48:42
the energy tomorrow I'm starting a GoFundMe first victim sympathy you have
- 48:48
to pay just click the link yeah just show show me some sympathy um all right come on
- 48:54
what else y'all want to talk about a lot to get to I don't want to get to death yet don't want to get to death yeah oh no more wanted to bring up a tweet you
- 49:00
had let's attack you someone Omar had a topic finally yeah did you tweet that
- 49:08
you posted oh you can't you keep was it a post and delete was it you might have deleted it you
- 49:14
stayed on your words don't want to shout this out there you know what yourself what we - Toma Drive
- 49:20
so many Jen what you tweeted you know what this particular picked one up we did was it you picked up one of my sista
- 49:26
good morning guys tweet no no wasn't that one it was the one he said uh only
- 49:33
NYC star tennis would support a do fee with money or something like that or no one supports a doof with money like an
- 49:39
NYC starts in there okay which is Joe's click on the love right
- 49:44
the storm starts no I focus more wood that's still the click though no there
- 49:50
yes they look up with them other ones o teams did you know anything here you
- 49:55
know these clicks and bartenders oh of course oh absolutely I don't [ __ ] with that the click that we tell my own [ __ ] with that click ok
- 50:01
oh that's investor Brooklyn click anyway so I saw that anyway now he don't want
- 50:07
to expose that he does know the clicks to whoever is this definitely Clips amongst amongst uh co-workers I'm sure
- 50:14
the lecture is not going to separate them might well that's all yeah no it's definitely clicks um but [ __ ] you can't
- 50:20
tweet that dojo why because it's not it's not fair there's enough fails I'm gonna do for money yeah no no no and
- 50:26
they support you it's not fair to them because what what are they supposed to do not support do some money well
- 50:34
actually if you think about a strip club the whole point the whole point of a strip club is to take advantage of the dupes with money yeah that's that's
- 50:41
actually actually the whole purpose of a strip club they just doing what they supposed to do then what they've been
- 50:46
doing for years like that's nothing new that's how they were trained I'd say I just have New York pride that's all I
- 50:52
mean it was it wasn't it wasn't an indictment against any of those young ladies let me stop playing and be
- 50:58
serious for a minute it wasn't an indictment against any of them with unemployment being what was it what was
- 51:05
it indictment on keV that's exactly who was it was an indictment against them
- 51:12
you know and I'm saying that's not fair to them because that's what they're supposed to do they're supposed to be eye candy they're supposed to you know
- 51:20
play to this fantasy make you believe that they're into you make some drinks make you leave us a good time provide a
- 51:25
good time for you and that's all they were doing then I apologize
- 51:30
do you up simple now this wasn't as fun as pre-production you'd come up yeah and
- 51:36
it was a way funnier conversation Thanks pretty shows things that were said in
- 51:41
pre-pro that we can't see okay well I was laying I was defending I was defending Joe and said hey Joe
- 51:48
Joe was a doof without money recording him no but I'm speaking tight it's not scarce man wall man forget to do for
- 51:55
money part I'm not talking about that I'm talking about that they were doing what they do that's what they're supposed to do so it did come across
- 52:01
like an indictment against what they were doing and I was just saying to Joe you can't say that because that's what
- 52:07
they indict anybody that is supporting that they're supposed to but they are
- 52:12
supposed to be eye candy that's it that's all that's all I supposed to do with this but they're just supposed to
- 52:17
be eye candy that's it okay and that's what they we know what more nowadays I'm looking for brain candy okay Joe you
- 52:29
can't wait to stall it to reopen tomorrow but you looking for brain kid yeah no you can't wait for that patron straighten the parts another dime out of
- 52:36
me okay yeah right I'm sorry I'm sorry
- 52:44
but you're lying right now I'm sorry buddy I'm not okay well we admit that this the
- 52:50
star tenders are one of the attractions that New York City has left shell is gonna open his own strip club that's
- 52:56
what Joe is gonna do mmm u & v got think big v guys on strip club already that's where I'll be as soon as
- 53:02
New York opened its get strip club you know I'm going I think they missed me yo
- 53:09
they do I'm sure wait hold on cuz those chicks be at that strip club two more know they
- 53:15
miss everybody trust me we see what they're doing right now in the pandemic what are they doing well making money they're only fans yeah I spoke to the
- 53:23
fire yesterday about about only fans oh my god what did he have to say who's
- 53:30
just left in the battery suggested that we all start one he he would suggest he
- 53:38
suggested all for one this is before he leaked how much him and his wife were
- 53:43
actually making on when he was going back and forth with uh kya uh but he say yeah he made six
- 53:49
figures in two weeks confirm it says you don't have to post but so much you'd say whatever you post you can charge them to
- 53:55
unlock it like he freaky freak they want a shower vid they had to unlock it that's the way
- 54:03
he's already described next to you uh he said yo when I want to give them
- 54:08
something a little extra hung go hop in the shower get soapy this is what you
- 54:14
and Safari talk about oh my god this is disgusting comment don't you spray your phone that was a nasty conversation more
- 54:27
if you go on the shower getting soapy yes are you so fine I'll expose myself
- 54:47
I'll do it and now I have the body wash thing in my shower you finally are not
- 54:55
using a bar soap anymore yeah alone no no I hit I hit him with
- 55:00
some oh uh with some high every spring then I double back on the soap lather okay give him some body wash double so
- 55:06
using soap is when you put the appropriate amount of body wash on the loofah or Ram when you put too much of
- 55:13
the body wash to make it so P it get soapy I like that is that a negative
- 55:21
though there's good to use it good to get so peed over it's good for me I start out on the chest and I mean I damn
- 55:26
I made it to my ankle this is really
- 55:32
[ __ ] this is a good this is a good racer I gotta get father for real I was
- 55:39
so loud last time with acne we have what are we talking about what are we talking about a lot happened
- 55:46
let's see uh there's a new meek snippet that he put out that sounds like a vibe
- 55:51
okay I don't know if you guys heard it or not I did not hear banks please something wait banks put something new out without
- 55:58
a couple sums yeah holy [ __ ] that's what we can talk about really briefly well as
- 56:04
Rory finds something for us to discuss been down my YouTube rabbit hole again
- 56:09
okay here we go this time on music music docks okay so I
- 56:17
watched the Tony Tony Tony dock on YouTube saw you tweeting and I saw some
- 56:23
short hi-5 dock on YouTube and it got me to say it's the one that comes on a TV
- 56:30
one the Tony Tony Tony one was not I can't say where the the hi-5 one has
- 56:37
ever been aired or published or who produced it but watching the stories of both of those two groups got me to
- 56:44
thinking there needs to be some type of just informative show that schools us on all the horror stories attached our
- 56:50
favorite R&B groups like the Tony Tony Tony Doc and I was I was a little bit
- 56:56
aware of this story but not so much I just kind of heard my uncle's talking about it as a kid when you say hey what
- 57:02
happened these guys um in the Tony Tony Tony Doc they just described horror
- 57:09
stories of regular artists [ __ ] artists not getting paid the band members not
- 57:15
getting paid for years and years mad albums having to learn about the point system having to learn about publishing
- 57:21
having to replace the lead singer with a new lead singer than they were jerking him to like the whole thing was about
- 57:28
how to ban got jerk the whole time in and Duane Duane from Tony took from the
- 57:34
Tony's kind of just had a chokehold on this group non Tony yeah Duane Duane got
- 57:45
all the Tony's that's normally how it goes yes so that was really good and that led me into high five who I'm aware
- 57:53
dat Tony Thompson the lead sing passed away mm-hmm rest in peace
- 57:59
rest in peace Tony Thompson I bought his singles after he left the group I didn't know there was a story for all of them
- 58:05
like there's really a theory going around about there being a high five curse and there's man one of them I
- 58:12
think one of them killed his baby mother something like that yeah one beat the [ __ ] out of his baby moms and murdered
- 58:17
her one guy in the accident and was paralyzed it's paralyzed from the waist down another went to jail for murder and
- 58:25
Tony Thompson died damn so on YouTube there's all these
- 58:31
dogs about their birthdays adding up to some numbers you know all the number of people yeah it was up to make it seem
- 58:37
like some [ __ ] but it's one of those and I just thought it was real interesting I went down a rabbit hole of some of my
- 58:42
favorite groups and there's really horror stories attached to yeah most of them so if you have time check it out
- 58:48
Tony Tony Tony doc on YouTube it's my new favorite thing to do is just search things in YouTube and watch I've seen I
- 58:55
think I've seen one of those on TV want that uh unsung they don't call Dunson
- 59:01
yeah I've seen those yeah yeah I've seen a high five one unless you Tony Tony Tony whoa no all right on tomorrow
- 59:08
important thing come on give me the most money that you ever put on your mom's credit card ordering videos off jukebox
- 59:15
couple hundred oh yeah maybe like me too that's when they almost too much for the
- 59:22
ass OpenScape yeah butyl ah yeah his dog Tom's back there mmm TV baby guys cuz
- 59:28
you could hear when she found out cuz you know that's when everything was in the mail right and you open the mail
- 59:34
from the other room you like oh [ __ ] here call the cable company yeah TRL in
- 59:41
106 oh I tell the story all the time when my mom caught the phone bill when I was calling the one 900 Freddy Krueger
- 59:47
number you saw that you spotted you
- 59:54
trying to speak to Freddy this Joe would like you fell out was a demented kid for
- 1:00:01
sure for my family gave Fred like a stack
- 1:00:07
good they read of stack isn't seen good they they tell you see 94 they did tell
- 1:00:13
you but as a kid you don't really pay attention to clauses and the devil being in the details there's like yeah the
- 1:00:18
first minute is $0.99 I missed that first minute part as a kid that [ __ ] jumped in like don't stop
- 1:00:24
bones a minute after that first minute when you and Freddie was getting a [ __ ] ya know I had to hold over Freddie he
- 1:00:30
never even came it's funny cuz I waited one time I made it to the end I'm late
- 1:00:38
they put this Freddy Krueger voicemail along with some music you finally made
- 1:00:44
it to the end this gives them a bless
- 1:00:54
they already have a back button I was trying to go back so fast that's funny
- 1:01:00
alright come on I thought of the Tony Tony zone [ __ ] was a good transition what was talking about before with the
- 1:01:07
key the key that is actually that's as
- 1:01:15
bad as a good segue for that Rory yeah now you guys want to hip you to some
- 1:01:22
podcast beef I've been made aware of yeah I walked I walked on the crib today and Joe and Brandon were sitting there
- 1:01:29
thank God Joe was not on his stomach this time like a guy can lay on his
- 1:01:35
stomach yeah buddy going through high why why he's laying on his stomach burger and I
- 1:01:41
walked in just to say hello to my friends and they were like there's too much podcast be shut up and uh I was
- 1:01:47
privy to this information that Joe is about to tell the podcast I am going to share this with you guys spill the teacher only I already made
- 1:01:55
Rory promise now you guys have to promise I will share this tea with you only a few promise not to personally
- 1:02:02
attack me during the story I promise well it's gonna be a sure pinky swear
- 1:02:12
all right bet y'all saying I'm mad that you didn't tell me about this boy I ain't know today had some smoke over
- 1:02:18
there at Gilley [ __ ] Oh what uh to do - to do the show before them look at on
- 1:02:24
the show say his name yeah I forgot his name no this was bad forgot his name yeah damn is his name say his name Dave
- 1:02:32
that's not in this salvation that's not oh that doesn't work in that's nice fine yeah why don't you tell me about this
- 1:02:39
law and I only mention it here because it's important to talk about this [ __ ] here because what I'm noticing is and
- 1:02:46
I'll just say this blanket statement a lot of people are jumping into this podcast game and this this podcast world
- 1:02:52
because it's trendy and you see some traction happening some momentum it's a developing field in genre and you're not
- 1:03:00
really treating this like a business like I get the optic of it is to sit
- 1:03:06
around and kick it with your friends and I use friends loosely because most of these podcasters don't be friends
- 1:03:12
they're just selling the illusion of friendship like us yeah yeah just like
- 1:03:18
us yeah but we married the illusion like I don't talk to y'all during know this
- 1:03:26
[ __ ] was working so great for us we've dated the relationship yeah no we got rid of the friendship
- 1:03:33
and I really appreciate that you guys can come here and hit the on sweets
- 1:03:38
shows a lot about me killing this [ __ ] bus all right so long story a little
- 1:03:43
less long gillian wild little hit podcast million dollars worth again they were doing however many episodes they
- 1:03:50
did and they did this alongside a gentleman named death Deb is not really a part he's not a part of their core and
- 1:03:57
friendship group but he did add something to this show so from what I
- 1:04:02
gather here they did about 85 episodes for free pro bono with no no sponsor no
- 1:04:11
integrations no nobody backing them right there was dev studio it was his it was his facility his a history that's a big part that's a big
- 1:04:19
part to take note in yeah yeah and this was just on Soundcloud whatever they
- 1:04:25
just put a lot on their home yeah yeah so I so from what I gather nobody made
- 1:04:32
any money when nobody was making any money mm-hmm then when the barstool deal came into
- 1:04:39
play Gilly offered a salary you will get
- 1:04:45
X amount of dollars for every episode moving forward and dance position was I've been here from the start I do not
- 1:04:53
want a salary I want 15 percent of everything so when this barstool money came dev was asking for 15% of its bars
- 1:05:01
- money - which Gilley said man if you don't get the [ __ ] out of my face no I'm
- 1:05:06
not giving you that but I will do the right thing and raise your salary on to
- 1:05:12
this appropriate number you have to specify whose point of view is this right now that you're speaking from I'm
- 1:05:17
just pulling what I gathered from both sides okay yeah this is just what
- 1:05:22
they're beefing over you you've heard both sides and yeah okay yeah um damn
- 1:05:28
wheels I had just now 15% I'll give it a proper age your salary with this Gili say get the [ __ ] out of here he felt like he was being
- 1:05:35
overly generous with the offer which totaled something like a $70,000 base or
- 1:05:43
$50,000 base not including tour yep so dev was like okay well if you're
- 1:05:50
paying me for this number then you owe me X amount of dollars for the 89 episodes that we did for free already
- 1:05:57
- which Gilly said no if you don't get the [ __ ] out here I'm not doing that [ __ ] Devin his interview and his
- 1:06:04
interview that he released was posting receipts of contracts and lawyers going
- 1:06:11
back and forth and he was saying he was highlighting how in the paperwork he is titled as a producer slash editor so his
- 1:06:20
role on the show is he accused Gilly of downplaying his role on the show - which
- 1:06:26
Gilly responded with [ __ ] you was a nobody before before you got in the show
- 1:06:32
if you're so popping while you can't get nothing else pop in and no you won't you debted yourself I was asking for this
- 1:06:40
amount of hours from you and you could pay more than anything else and you [ __ ] it on me so no now you can't come back
- 1:06:45
it's over and he said that pretty aggressively and he said that in a real guilty okay in a real Gilley way if you
- 1:06:52
know it the deaf kids seem to be real respectful it seemed like he really
- 1:06:57
wanted no smoke but it did sound like he was unclear about the business so before
- 1:07:03
I ask you gentlemen where y'all fall on this I just want to take this time to tell all podcasters out there old new
- 1:07:10
new old just have your understanding I
- 1:07:15
won't call it have your business together have your understanding in order have your people understanding in
- 1:07:20
order well your people before business you should afford gets booming I'll put
- 1:07:26
it this way starting with that being dev studio again I don't know much about this so if I'm talking about my ass my
- 1:07:32
apologies talk about somebody else's business if it's dev studio and we get a bag and I have accumulated some costs
- 1:07:40
and having you guys in my studio for this long yeah it would be nice if you
- 1:07:45
gave me a little back pay to cover the expenses that we were all doing pro bono I don't want to make money off of it
- 1:07:50
let's just cover the expenses that we've had for 85 episodes because I've been coming out of pocket while you guys have
- 1:07:56
it I could get Deb's beef there for sure I'm not retro actively paying the money
- 1:08:01
oh no no I'm not saying there's no paperwork there's no nothing that's why I said you need to know people first that would be a good gesture yeah that's
- 1:08:08
what I'm speaking of morally if you were to say I you just got a bag you got this
- 1:08:14
bag off these 85 episodes and you guys are great at it but I've been coming out of pocket because I believed in y'all
- 1:08:19
sure don't be some bread for free I'm not looking for it for a profit I want
- 1:08:24
to break even off what you guys have done in my studio yeah but don't come to me today for 90 episodes that we did I
- 1:08:33
mean I'm not dev so I don't know exactly what those costs may have them in it
- 1:08:39
listen mall just taught me that it was his studio I didn't even know I well you didn't I spoke to I spoke to Y alone
- 1:08:45
that's I believe that's the story he told me that that was dev studio that they were using his studio I want to say
- 1:08:50
like wallow has not said a word about any of this there's no rent there's no footage of him replying to dev he's
- 1:08:55
handled this like a gentleman no my point is because a lot it's you pay for studio time which if you're a smart
- 1:09:00
studio ends up being profit because you're covering the boss already plus profit when you do
- 1:09:05
your hourly rate first studio engineer Kosta less [ __ ] I'm saying [ __ ] me making a profit
- 1:09:11
just let me break even on the expenses that I've had to get us to this 85 because it is a whole team thing there
- 1:09:18
of course dev would not be in the position so you're gonna cut your nose to spite your face don't know I'm just
- 1:09:24
we just got this bar stool deal oh no no no no III agree there if I'm Gilley and
- 1:09:31
while you I'm maybe I'll throw just to cover cause I don't know what the cost were they could have been nothing I
- 1:09:37
don't [ __ ] know I'm just saying to file a lot of studio costs in my studio yeah might want a little bit of bread what if it's cheaper
- 1:09:42
if I'm gonna go get a new studio okay yeah but see again that's good it always
- 1:09:49
comes no it's just you're more than that's all I'm speaking of I'm not saying Gilley Oh him that yeah but the good jesters should come from the good
- 1:09:55
gesture giver like if you have to bring it up oh no the innocent then that [ __ ] Pro but that's why I just always
- 1:10:01
goes back to you know if you want to know exactly how much people [ __ ] with
- 1:10:06
you or which aren't we are relationship stands just put money between you and now to tell you everything you know I put it up cuz [ __ ] gonna say okay you
- 1:10:12
can say oh that's my boy that's my man it wasn't but they ain't grow up together not I'm not saying they did I'm
- 1:10:18
sure they claimed you know he's he just added to the show no no I don't mean nothing but I'm just saying if you want
- 1:10:23
to know where you stand with people just put money or do mean something because we can argue about your value to this
- 1:10:29
show like and that's where I get the biggest of their differences coming from well listen I'll put it this way and
- 1:10:34
meet defending dev here if they've did the studio timestamps I'm editing and I'm talent on the mic I would be
- 1:10:42
thinking that my value is pretty high I've on a crew friendship or even not
- 1:10:48
even friendship but we're all in this together thing I've put up bread before or I put in a lot of expenses into
- 1:10:54
business and we've gotten the bag I haven't even thought about what happened before that
- 1:10:59
so no me personally no I'm letting that go like if we're in this together and moving forward [ __ ] all those expenses
- 1:11:05
before it is what it is at this point let's focus on the next episodes and how we're gonna get this money I think what
- 1:11:11
happened what dev was he felt he was shorted and while he was being shorted he said I well let me get my money
- 1:11:17
for the other [ __ ] if we're not in this as partners we're in this as you're
- 1:11:22
throwing me a fee that's all I'm not saying I would move like that I mean say
- 1:11:29
that was like that's what I'm interested to hear from you no I'm not i'ma sit down if if we did this together and
- 1:11:36
we're moving forward together I'm not gonna think about those old expenses but I don't know what dev situation is he
- 1:11:42
may need it's hard to say without the full yeah the full details and I don't want to make this a person here dev thing because I don't know dev at all
- 1:11:48
but I can see in the situation that someone would go all right well I was coming out my pocket to boost your
- 1:11:56
podcast now you're saying it's yours it's not mine if if it's yours pay for what you just [ __ ] did then if it
- 1:12:02
ain't mine if I'm not part of it pay for the [ __ ] expenses then if you want to be a boss act like a boss now it was
- 1:12:09
tough it's always tough because at the end of the day it's like but they the chemistry that they had that that was
- 1:12:15
that was dope you know I mean so it's like for money or business to [ __ ]
- 1:12:22
get in the way of that info 30% agree yeah that's that's the unfortunate part of it you know I'm saying and that's why
- 1:12:28
it's always tough getting into business with people because everybody is down
- 1:12:33
and riding and you know when there's no money involved everybody's about it but then once the once the money come into
- 1:12:38
play is you know everybody start thinking with a CEO mom the only thing is you don't you don't think it's the
- 1:12:44
opposite of that sometimes you don't think is when there's no money involved it cannot but some examples Amy now when
- 1:12:50
this money is like everybody just saying are you no no it definitely happens that way too but while I'm saying is if the
- 1:12:56
person was there riding when there wasn't no money you know I'm saying because you can look
- 1:13:01
around and know who's around you and it wasn't no money you see you know the faces you know the [ __ ] that's down with you but now when the money comes
- 1:13:07
and [ __ ] gets different that's the unfortunate part because it's like but we've been broke together you know
- 1:13:13
saying like so it's like now there's some money's in play it's like that shouldn't change anything like we know
- 1:13:19
how we get down when there's no money involved between us you know saying like we still boys we still have the same fun
- 1:13:24
we still do [ __ ] like so now that the money's involved and people want to start talking like you know data is
- 1:13:30
[ __ ] CEO of General mo it's like you don't even know this person is anymore lady what are you talking about you know saying like let's
- 1:13:36
just have a conversation yo this is what I feel like I should get paid and if not okay then let's try to get somewhere to
- 1:13:41
where it makes sense for both of us like but don't just say you know oh [ __ ] you get out of here we don't need you it's
- 1:13:47
like dance that was why it was important that was real important that like that's not what you just said well it's
- 1:13:55
unfortunate that they weren't able to negotiate through what some of the
- 1:14:01
differences yeah work yeah yeah and that's the and that's the fucked-up part in business this night you know you get
- 1:14:07
to a point where it's like people just be like oh well [ __ ] him or [ __ ] her and it's like but damn like we hit we came
- 1:14:14
all this way together we built something dope we you know Sam we got it to a level to where we can probably take care
- 1:14:19
of ourselves and you know the traveler a better living I'm a member wyne back to a conversation we was having a long time
- 1:14:25
ago but I don't even remember where we briefly brought up it might have been
- 1:14:33
the mace conversation where we played the flip side of that saying that hey on the flip side there's some artists that
- 1:14:40
as soon as the money come now we want to keep it all yeah like now we don't want
- 1:14:46
to cut corners without exposing too much of our personal business I can feel
- 1:14:52
guilty on that part when our deal came and the Commission's had to go it was a
- 1:14:58
lot of money my first thought was how do we change them how do we keep this but
- 1:15:05
that's kind of grimy but I think that every thing everybody kind of has that thought now what do you do
- 1:15:12
following that though it to that point and not this doesn't have to do with us or with Gilly that becomes that defines
- 1:15:19
leadership because when you treat people as your partner that you build something
- 1:15:26
with their attitude is much different they're not going to care about certain expenses about [ __ ] because we're in
- 1:15:32
this together we win together we lose together that's the point of partners when I'm now an employee or just a
- 1:15:39
contractor where I get a fee now I'm gonna behave like a contractor where pennies matter
- 1:15:45
to me and how things and expenses are moved within my salary and how it
- 1:15:51
affects me I'm going to make an uproar out of [ __ ] if I if I'm a partner in
- 1:15:56
something not at school everything here affects us you know what that's not like if you [ __ ] something up it [ __ ] me up
- 1:16:03
if I [ __ ] something up it [ __ ] you up so we all move as a unit when you do that I'm now the leader god thing and
- 1:16:09
again this is nothing to do with us or Gilly if what I was Gilly did do though I'm the leader good I didn't see any of it so I'm not gonna speak on it cuz I
- 1:16:15
didn't see it okay I love girly girly but it changes the mentality of the
- 1:16:21
people around you because now all right if you want to treat me that way I find will go to the Gilly well you can change if you want to treat if you want
- 1:16:26
to treat that way if you want to treat that way then yeah it's it's time for you to act like the boss you're
- 1:16:32
pretending or are and pay up on them [ __ ] expenses bro we're not partners
- 1:16:37
anymore I came in on a 15 percent let me be your partner I think I wouldn't give a [ __ ] about those expenses now I care about
- 1:16:43
them because now I'm just some [ __ ] contractor to you so yeah pay up be the
- 1:16:48
boss okay to invoice the only thing I don't like about what Rory is saying and I do believe that that's true in podcast
- 1:16:55
world is that I don't feel like that's the case when when people get up and go
- 1:17:00
to work like we get up and we go to work no we're not talented work but we're
- 1:17:06
contracted we're at work and because it's work we'll be pressing them like we
- 1:17:12
should about [ __ ] because we just at work mmm contractors and employees are a
- 1:17:17
bit different tell me more they're not exactly the same if I'm a hired contractor the inner
- 1:17:25
workings and even to an employee to some certain degree the inner workings of how
- 1:17:30
you move expenses around is not my business if I'm percent point yet it's not my
- 1:17:37
business and I'm an employee you pay me a salary whatever we make as a company I make the same I make seventy five grand
- 1:17:44
a year it's never gonna change unless I get a raise or promotion or work off Commission that's not the same as a contractor uh to some to some
- 1:17:53
degree because you're hiring me for a specific service I don't get benefits
- 1:17:58
from your company I don't it's it's it's a bit different I have more of a loyalty to how you run
- 1:18:04
your business as an employee than I do a contractor you're hiring me for a specific service and in let's say devs
- 1:18:11
[ __ ] here if I'm a contractor you used my place you hired me as a
- 1:18:16
contractor to use my studio I gave you a service pay for the [ __ ] service he went in there saying I want a percentage
- 1:18:23
make me a partner to some degree whatever you have to find a partner hmm make me a partner I'm not gonna give a
- 1:18:30
[ __ ] about the expense because we're all in this together I don't care I'm bringing this as a partner this is a
- 1:18:35
resource I have it's a studio I'm not gonna charge you for for expenses that's
- 1:18:40
that's part of we're partners but now I'm a contractor [ __ ] yeah you hired me for a service pay
- 1:18:48
your [ __ ] expenses boss no he said no [Laughter]
- 1:18:55
sometimes you know it's saying that no will [ __ ] [ __ ] the pack up though well you know that's the thing trying to cut
- 1:19:01
corners and you try not to you know you don't want to pay this - and to keep this chemistry and keep this in a job
- 1:19:07
which now you're about [ __ ] to pack up more like well you should because
- 1:19:13
[ __ ] a pack up now you you [ __ ] your money up and that's the part [ __ ] don't want to talk about because you can
- 1:19:19
try to take out and do this and do all this moving around and then when you start to see that after this and ain't
- 1:19:24
no more deals coming ain't no money no [ __ ] ain't you but they're remix the pack too much depends on how you value
- 1:19:32
how you value the pack right cuz back to the barstool call me daddy [ __ ] I mean
- 1:19:39
if I take my brain out of it if I'm calling me - call me daddy host co-host maybe I wait the six months and bring up
- 1:19:47
all my grievances at the time of renegotiation because they were close to the end 2021 the contract was up we in
- 1:19:53
2020 weed and me out of this [ __ ] i mighta pam time it's 20 times my to cap it pushing in that instance but they
- 1:20:00
took a stand right and now bars its barstools job to come up with that show
- 1:20:07
yes the pack is [ __ ] up cuz those were the girls that they were the pack
- 1:20:13
but barstool owns it so they have they have they don't have a choice but to remix the pack or let the brand dive
- 1:20:20
right same with Gilley homeboy leaves you had a packing the same but maybe Gilley
- 1:20:28
knows that as he's trying to fix it yeah I mean I would hope so but at the same
- 1:20:34
time is it worth it ream it no it's not remix in a pack don't usually be worth it it's a headache yes a headache it's
- 1:20:42
not it's never the same and it's not a good it's not a good business to have to rebrand every year it's not it's just
- 1:20:48
that says something about success with someone that's not only on their personality but also deals with technical side and also his facilitating
- 1:20:54
facilitating the podcast right it's just not it's a lot understand it's a gamble with there's a man Rory had a lot of
- 1:21:00
conversations and a lot of sleepless nights when uh Marisa parted ways it wasn't wasn't a fun month no not at all
- 1:21:08
because it's like you it's a lot that goes into coming up with that type of [ __ ] yeah and you want to be responsible
- 1:21:14
with putting some on your platform which reminds me Marissa is the only person I got fired for me twice
- 1:21:19
when was the first time he was my assistant I didn't know she was your assistant yes you said she fell in love
- 1:21:24
this fine um all right that's it that's what I got I just I just bring it up because there are a lot of people
- 1:21:30
starting podcasts well where did this end I between there Gillian oh man have someone else oh he's going he's gone oh
- 1:21:38
[ __ ] okay he's going he's pursuing his other passions he shout out to death you know
- 1:21:45
we don't we don't want to paint him and ever that because he handled it he ended it so graciously and so professional -
- 1:21:51
wild low shouts to kill Shane out shout out tonight on shout out to that whole camp and I just hope anything right yeah
- 1:21:58
they replace Dave I can't I can't say another it was on air personality I've been listening to the podcast probably
- 1:22:04
within a month I kind of catch on I can't say if it's for better or for worse but they have a new pack they have
- 1:22:09
a new packet mmm if I'm deaf I'm not necessarily leaving it like that well
- 1:22:15
that'd be the unfortunate she's tricky because because sometimes they don't even fall into the money it falls into
- 1:22:23
your morals and ego well that's likely that's what where it hurts the most like [ __ ] the
- 1:22:29
bread like I don't know what they're making nor do I care that's their pockets but you were saying the seventy thousand base salary great that's that's
- 1:22:36
a that's a lot of money to make I feel right so you go in your morale sit there like now that doesn't settle right with
- 1:22:42
me I mean does it seem like fifty percent doesn't see it it's only three of them right 58 percent does this on
- 1:22:48
air Regis to me it's the only three of them on air right I don't know who's not
- 1:22:54
getting part of what I don't know what what he has offered that podcast so I can't speak to that
- 1:22:59
well people miss him well I know I don't mean just fascinating just personality I mean how the how it functions because
- 1:23:07
people fell in love with that people grew to love and support that so naturally people will miss that I want
- 1:23:13
me to miss that element I want to encourage all Park asters out there to have a clear and concise understanding
- 1:23:18
with the people that you do the podcast with which is a very tough task and
- 1:23:24
that's yeah it's a really tough ask is it happens explain it explain it to understand music I could see how that
- 1:23:30
happens in music I could see how that happens because in music business things business conversations happen very
- 1:23:37
casually especially when you don't know that it's a business conversation happening with podcasting no is that
- 1:23:44
really like that no you're asking anytime money is involved it's like yes no matter what you don't have the most
- 1:23:50
how money is in play it happens absolutely yeah you're asking for those difficult questions ever to deal with
- 1:23:56
people and then to deal with people within your own money in business in deal with egos that's like that's not
- 1:24:03
pocket [ __ ] go ahead but that's why it's so important to praise uh people that are very successful and their businesses
- 1:24:11
intact because that's not easy it's not easy to be successful and for your business to be intact and you see people
- 1:24:18
moving with their camp and everyone is on the same Accord like you have to salute that because the moment money
- 1:24:24
comes into play I'm Vince the chemistry of everything change I think before it does I think if I think before money
- 1:24:29
came with us I think I might have said to you a when we get some money I want more than y'all he probably know that
- 1:24:38
might have been the that might have been that total argument that y'all keep saying was about title that I know it's not about title total
- 1:24:45
argument total would the blow up one we didn't have an episode it was like the first time we ever missed an episode in like three years
- 1:24:50
that happened yeah that was it was a fight we missed the episode we did you drove oh yeah sped off in your car it
- 1:24:58
was walk up it was about what I'm lying a guy 100% set the [ __ ] up it was about
- 1:25:04
my I wasn't title I know why you kept saying was about sight it was about money what's my money that's why I know I had
- 1:25:11
it we rise with Gilley and and all of them I don't know what this had not this goes it's not easy we didn't explain it
- 1:25:17
as that we just took a week off we just took episode oh yeah explain and and we
- 1:25:26
was only doing one Episode a week then so it wasn't you know and you sped off like aggressively visually like a chick
- 1:25:32
pulling off and like a via VW Bug like that's how I visualized it I always make
- 1:25:41
it a point to speed off fast from you guys whenever we're having a tiff because do you guys are gonna gang up on
- 1:25:46
me so I have to have to pull off fast we're all noticed would I be if we're
- 1:25:52
all supposed to part ways now and y'all stand there for 20 more minutes I can
- 1:25:58
assume that I'm V what's y'all circle around the block how would you know no you get out of here when [ __ ] is
- 1:26:04
sitting around chillin for min [ __ ] out of here I don't remember that total [ __ ] oh that no not one part of that must be
- 1:26:12
really wrong from what I remember you were but you typically got for school is
- 1:26:20
there a way to tell me without telling the fans actually no I think it was Highline money no no no it was petty for
- 1:26:29
sure but it was a look at us oh this is part of this conversation which would not to make it just about us but having
- 1:26:36
those early arguments even when it's about busting down 10 grand you're gonna
- 1:26:42
have language you have to set a precedent early on where I am and how much I make off this 10 grand bail so
- 1:26:48
glad that we don't fight over ballroom now it's how you gotta start a business
- 1:26:53
that's part of the process no no no you're right if listen fight with your podcast no I'm
- 1:26:59
not saying price but you should set a precedent on what expectations are over $1,500 I know it's gonna look and sound
- 1:27:07
petty but it's not coz then once you get the real bad be important later it'll be
- 1:27:12
it'll be way worse and now someone's not on the show anymore yeah like oh I'm all feelin you pay more first show you don't
- 1:27:19
care yo dose you gonna show those
- 1:27:28
titties yo hey I don't know I haven't
- 1:27:37
the slightest clue I saw everyone in the Tom hung up in rage that she didn't I was like that's hilarious that she
- 1:27:42
didn't you wrote it right here don't you have nice tits that's what I wrote show time you wrote it right here
- 1:27:49
I wrote down of let's help little nas execute some [ __ ] edit its heart it's
- 1:27:58
not he tweeted he wants some [ __ ] yes
- 1:28:06
he said I think I'm ready to try some [ __ ] who can help me out which immediately led me to Wow
- 1:28:13
that's the show Mall helping little nods exit get some [ __ ] are you kidding me
- 1:28:19
which then led me to just tell you my brain works which then led me to part me
- 1:28:26
uh which then led me to damn we've all been a guy like that went to link up
- 1:28:32
with some girls there brought a [ __ ] that we knew wasn't the best around
- 1:28:37
girls yeah mm-hmm like now you have to explain him to the girls yeah you got to kind of
- 1:28:43
give him a pre yeah yeah yeah yeah intro yeah yeah they look he's low yeah yeah but if you old friend you you taught
- 1:28:49
throw some encouragement his way and he'll say some stupid [ __ ] and you'll agree and change the narrative of what
- 1:28:54
he said nah maybe I should own some now we know that we've we've been through this yeah I guess don't really be around no girls keep it light and that's my
- 1:29:00
shirt aware that's nasty all I said that you don't joke I have
- 1:29:11
never said that Joe did not hasten oh he didn't have never said that but but but
- 1:29:16
Jojo would he would do that and man and man [ __ ] got kills in my shirt that's
- 1:29:22
a stain still may be from out of town and that's my shirt you say you made up
- 1:29:29
for soup yeah but then that led me to sometimes the right amount of corn and
- 1:29:36
we always talk about this here but the right amount of corner get it done like that guy that has no idea what to do
- 1:29:41
around girls will end up girls Oh a night happy naive night years before I'm sitting there with all my games ride
- 1:29:47
dick yeah yeah no not being naive get you read an ad in a nice cosign from you man get you pretty far yeah yeah back
- 1:29:57
naive more that's what that's what men need to do just be a little more naive I think get you far yeah yeah and it's
- 1:30:03
an F man fan man you say that any time I have acted naive it work like fakes fake
- 1:30:09
sleeping it worked author oh I didn't even invite you here for this not even know you'd like to
- 1:30:17
I've sent you about a thousand I actually said you I'm trying to [ __ ] you
- 1:30:23
know I didn't I thought you meant something else yeah yeah yeah it's true oh let's see alright what else is really
- 1:30:29
important did anyone was in the mouth uh dad bunny bad bunny came out bad bully dropped a
- 1:30:36
pack uh Nicky and Ferg had a snippet that sounded I Nicky and out a surfer
- 1:30:43
mhm they was they was on they they styles and Jada back and forth [ __ ] sounded good
- 1:30:49
what do I do for Mother's Day hater we ain't talking about Mother's Day oh that's right we didn't yeah I was at
- 1:30:54
my mom's house she cooked so we went over there just a couple of us in there you know my aunt just passed away so my
- 1:31:00
cousins they came over that was my first time seeing them since my heart passed so you know this is just a small little
- 1:31:06
intimate gathering it was it was cool though those rotors real cool I thought it was gonna be like a sad time but
- 1:31:12
surprisingly what we were all in good spirits man we were all you know smiling laughing so that was good I needed that
- 1:31:18
I needed that worth Kadir uh I sent sent my momma airfryer and flowers mothers
- 1:31:26
they gotta be trash is the only child but you're gonna share with your siblings make fun of them yeah I don't
- 1:31:32
what's of course a lot of pressure too much pressure is only child for like mothers baby I can't I can't see my mom
- 1:31:38
now aside to do the FaceTime and flowers sent and weighed that flew what you that worked but no my mother is a diabetic
- 1:31:44
she can't be a her doctor she can't be around daddy gotta go um yes she's the
- 1:31:50
worst type to be around for the krona sure so yeah we did the faced on thing uh a sensor our air fryer which has
- 1:31:56
changed my life so I figured it would change hers and quarantine I'm so sorry now that was a Mother's Day
- 1:32:02
when I was cracking all those into the live joke's on you I jump in LA
- 1:32:10
yeah now a mom mom can't see nobody oh my bad man now it's fine she's no she's healthy she's just you know can't be
- 1:32:16
well I'm sure she'll appreciate the airfryer though cuz I heard this really dope oh she she already started uh it came
- 1:32:22
right before Mother's Day so she's already been getting actively oh is she already cracking oh she missed she made
- 1:32:27
some fried chicken already for sure yeah you know that Irish fried chicken the
- 1:32:32
other food was very yeah I think about this a lot the food was really good at
- 1:32:38
Rory's engagement party well that wasn't cuz of my mom but I know I was a good note but I know my mom
- 1:32:44
ate the food it was season it was jerky I didn't think Karen hurried the spell
- 1:32:53
Karen that's racist every time as your
- 1:33:05
peers there y'all don't tell me I've told you off am i telling you on air oh yeah yes you'd be Betty for now Betty I
- 1:33:15
have an amazing picture of Joe and my mom in that backyard with I'll always I
- 1:33:20
think was my mom holding a the big ace of spades bottle like the gallon it's
- 1:33:26
lit yeah Rory parents are so lit his pops 100% is lit not my father's that to
- 1:33:32
his pops walk about the stage with a beer in his hand what slit my dad said everybody help
- 1:33:38
with the electronic weed [ __ ] I was like I'm not even on this yet how did you get this don't just look smooth I had a guy
- 1:33:47
I had a real good Mother's Day I was trying to get out of it like I expressed to y'all on the last podcast but uh work
- 1:33:52
now didn't work didn't work chef chef made a nice dinner we had dinner at 3
- 1:33:57
o'clock that's what we do in the holidays have dinner early early dinner early but that's that old that used to
- 1:34:03
be a thing yeah I like it though I like we had dinner by three house was clear by 6:00 I was in bed by 8:00
- 1:34:09
that's great I liked it up at a good time my brother Trey came over Cory came
- 1:34:15
over time yeah and in the very next day was my baby's birthday round of applause for all my oldest trick turning happy
- 1:34:22
birthday turn night trader like a man now man yeah yeah we've never had that
- 1:34:29
talk remember that talk we came up with every supposed to have more you absolutely
- 1:34:34
right Trey right Trey Trey looks like a man like it it's not like a young man
- 1:34:43
and I'm so proud of my baby I love him Ashlee the fan to tell me I got to stop calling my baby cousin so I disagree
- 1:34:52
with this baby that's my baby always be a baby that doesn't change but listen now so I'm looking at my baby and he's
- 1:34:58
got this full beard still got his hairline intact addresses 19 she's
- 1:35:04
[ __ ] walking cool listen if your mom send you to the wrong barber it'll [ __ ]
- 1:35:09
it up 19 will show us yeah like as you're coming up but anyway [ __ ] off
- 1:35:14
so me and Burt we've had this talk before we're like the change happens fast like we're trade looked like
- 1:35:21
childish to where he started looking like manly a little bit he came into his
- 1:35:28
own he's not like the awkward teenager anymore yeah like he's getting into this
- 1:35:34
teenager grew and it happened so fast it'll it'll sneak up on you as a parent
- 1:35:39
mm-hmm will we go on with that talk we were talking about uh and not so much with
- 1:35:45
your kids but just someone younger the little road like the Lobo son somebody that you help mentor raise desolation
- 1:35:53
that they're cool that yeah yeah like wait wait no no not that low kid not cool now there's no way that people his
- 1:35:59
age think he's that cool yeah like it's a deal a long time to recognize it like I'm a whole dude I got my own dog but
- 1:36:09
you have that my own crew of chicks yeah I got a couple dollars on me like you got to relax yeah like yeah I had that
- 1:36:16
moment but that doesn't change cuz they always remember they remember you from yeah that's young kid like so it's like
- 1:36:22
you know it's like yeah you a man now but it's like in cuz I do it with some some do some for my like you see them
- 1:36:28
now you like wait some of them got kids I'm like wait when did this happen like this used to be low low Hector from the
- 1:36:35
foot from the fifth floor like how you got two kids now like that's crazy I mean you got it you got to kind of you
- 1:36:40
know that just shows you exactly how fast time flies man and I was looking at my nephew this weekend but I remember
- 1:36:46
when you came home from the hospital literally like being born now you like he shows me how to get out of my
- 1:36:53
sister's building like the fastest I'm like how about following this little four-year-old like trying it out of the
- 1:36:59
building like hey I was telling my was Synod talking my momma Mother's Day about that quick change cuz she was
- 1:37:05
blown away like this was her first time looking at Trey in that light like you know Trey looks like such a man like
- 1:37:11
like he looks like he's having sex I said my MA he's having sex you'd like
- 1:37:16
yeah Joey do you remember um when I used to introduce um talked about you to all
- 1:37:22
my friends while you were there and I was saying oh that's my other son Joey he's a virgin and then one day is it mom
- 1:37:32
why do you keep telling people I'm a virgin when I'm [ __ ] like I'm getting
- 1:37:38
it in I'm clearing smash that's how my mom learn good old Evan said yeah I've smashed on the couch that your friend is
- 1:37:44
sitting last in your bed everywhere in
- 1:37:49
this house has been christened but now yes it's an interesting thing to see
- 1:37:56
people that you helped raise become cool yes I feel like that about Rory
- 1:38:02
that's fine you knew me since I was 22 I know and it hit me one day that like
- 1:38:08
people thought you were cool I know she was cool I'm not offended I get it I
- 1:38:16
don't understand like oh [ __ ] Rory's
- 1:38:21
cool you be with somebody and you don't it HAP 22 isn't the youngest but you
- 1:38:27
know I still I get it a time for watching that trailer to like you feel
- 1:38:33
it's a big difference to me yes big years for sure 22 to 30 because you
- 1:38:38
could get lost in 22 to 30 how about the dirty you can pinpoint
- 1:38:44
where the lessons like the incident that taught you this see the IG post yeah you
- 1:38:51
can see it it's true um come on worry while we're here you might as well get us in our g-unit segment here that
- 1:38:56
you've been doing lately which one with this uh it's just a segment where you talk about stuff related to g-unit and
- 1:39:03
things as a freestyle out oh yeah well vato I thought we got to we just said that he adds one out we didn't talk
- 1:39:09
about it I'm gonna say what it is or which was the other one they put out
- 1:39:14
parks uh what we talked about lab record yeah put that out last pot yeah that was last month no the cold summer [ __ ] yeah
- 1:39:21
we talked about a lot about it we talked about the UH the Jadakiss record of the
- 1:39:26
PATA talk yeah he said kiss was gonna get on that and I don't know what
- 1:39:32
happened either way Lloyd Banks is going crazy Lloyd Bank is a piece of [ __ ] every week seems like he might be gearing up for
- 1:39:37
something or finally be willing to let us hear some of the stuff he's been working on the freestyle sound great it sounds like there's a plan and a goal
- 1:39:44
and a motive I'm really happy to hear banks he sounded real good on his bottle [ __ ] not to say embezzle I don't normally
- 1:39:50
sound good yo vato been going crazy for a little while and nobody wants to talk about it cuz its vato Malden playing
- 1:39:57
going crazy but that's malls French so we don't listen to mall why are you
- 1:40:02
coming here and big up your friends all time no father I never talk about when
- 1:40:11
they doing good like yeah I'm gonna shout my [ __ ] oh hey alright so let me ask you a question while we own this bottle [ __ ] mmm
- 1:40:17
do you think it's possible for an artist to like get buzzing go away and then
- 1:40:24
increase that buzz or is he just tainted by whatever our first image was of him
- 1:40:30
I'm trying to feel the vital then killing [ __ ] and it goes back to what I was saying Joe about uh lyrics and that
- 1:40:36
type of rap which is why Griselda is so important because I think what they did because you could be a certain type of
- 1:40:43
artist but it's just the wrong time the ears they don't want to hear that that's not what you know the listeners want to
- 1:40:48
hear it's not really like the popular thing but when you know you start to see
- 1:40:53
that sound come back then you start to see artists from that same cloth that same sound they'll have
- 1:41:00
more success because people are accepting it more and they're listening to a morning looking for it more which is why it's important to continue to
- 1:41:07
champion in and talk about the dudes that's doing that and the reason why I do it Eliza because that's what I grew up on and it's you know I hate to see it
- 1:41:14
not be as popular as it once was but I understand because even when we were coming up out like I said I remember my
- 1:41:20
mom not wanting me to listen to snoop when that when the whole gang quote-unquote gangsta rap was big like
- 1:41:25
you know but but my mom was that she knew LL she was a friend of Big Daddy Kane you know rap like that mom was a
- 1:41:31
blow I went yeah you know I'm saying but when when she came out when she came out
- 1:41:39
it was like you know my mom just didn't want me hearing that so it was like but that's what I grew to love so it's just
- 1:41:44
important to keep trying to push that as much the dope [ __ ] cuz a lot of dudes we trying to be you know lyrical and it's
- 1:41:50
like is this whack I don't care if you put a bunch of words together paint a story make it make sense make it sound good and I think that a lot of artists
- 1:41:57
that were from that in the mid 2000s they kind of fell off in the last few
- 1:42:03
years but it's coming back now and I think we're gonna start to see a lot of those artists that we know can do that they're gonna have a moment uh
- 1:42:10
to really blow right now we're driving the people crazy they say oh every week they find a way to discuss Griselda well
- 1:42:17
no it's the most point that it's opened up an active dialogue about that type of
- 1:42:24
music that's allowed rock marciano who's been around forever and made dope [ __ ]
- 1:42:30
forever be revered again in the conversation because he's around these
- 1:42:36
people that have this energy but the
- 1:42:42
point I want to say back but it just brought it into the conversation it's given a deference to to where it should
- 1:42:49
be gifted but that's like when I was trying to make earlier I think one of the things that really helps Rock Marcy
- 1:42:54
is yeah he always teetered that buzz line earlier but he didn't really crack
- 1:43:01
it so now it appears that he's cracking it and we're really receptive of that
- 1:43:07
cuz these not us cuz we know but the new casual people seem to respect it more because they didn't see
- 1:43:15
him crack it before how quickly lado had a moment I quickly put it this way um I
- 1:43:22
was listen to a Questlove interview when they signed to Geffen or whatever and they were trying to break the roots and quest was like you're not gonna break us
- 1:43:30
next to you - and all these other acts on your label you need to sign D'Angelo and bülow and
- 1:43:36
Erica and you need to put us all and make us a thing that's how a whole fanbase will come and grow together hmm
- 1:43:43
you need other acts and you need other [ __ ] around us to start a movement that
- 1:43:48
we can break other artists because we have this core fan base that's going to [ __ ] with anything that we [ __ ] with you
- 1:43:54
got it so you could when you have people that make that type of music whether it be the roots or be rock even though
- 1:44:01
they're totally separate it's still a niche genre you need to put them together you need to package it together
- 1:44:06
because we're gonna grab all the fanbase and they're gonna latch on to anything that we [ __ ] with and that's kind of
- 1:44:12
what I think with banks coming back out and with Griselda and everyone attaches themselves to them yeah it's all genres
- 1:44:19
that that existed already Griselda didn't create a genre but right but you
- 1:44:26
have newer fans and older fans attaching themselves to them that's just building this audience mmm like we can't sell out
- 1:44:33
Sony whole by ourselves maybe even though Griselda can but maybe the lesser
- 1:44:38
acts that been around we can't do it but we if we attach the Griselda fanbase and the rock Marciano fanbase now we can do
- 1:44:46
bigger venues it's it's just a mob mentality - it's also like the streaming
- 1:44:51
I think it helps with that too because the people that love that type of sound they can still get it you know I mean
- 1:44:58
and they'll find it with the streaming like you you don't have to have commercial success Cohen on quote but
- 1:45:04
like the core audiences that love that type of music as long as they're able to stream it and find it they're gonna
- 1:45:10
support it and you're gonna see success and they're gonna come to the shows and you may not do Madison Square Garden but
- 1:45:15
you know I'm saying you'll do your smaller venues but you'll pack those venues out and you'll still be able to make a killing you'll sell your merch
- 1:45:21
you'll do good over in in the European market because they always support the authentic Crimean
- 1:45:27
[ __ ] anyway you know me so it is again it the stream is error I think it helps because you can go back like songs that
- 1:45:34
I just be were thinking about in my head I could find it in my phone now like I literally type up the artists record to
- 1:45:40
come up I haven't heard the song in 15 years but here it is in my phone if this music was really difficult to exist before streaming because everyone
- 1:45:47
was indie for the most part the host the 90s hip-hop major boom
- 1:45:53
everyone was indie so they're literally you know you can find a job isn't a record in Ohio in 2003 oh you like it
- 1:46:03
you couldn't you couldn't find it we New York it now we New York and now let's do
- 1:46:10
it
- 1:46:15
it doesn't have a major backing all right come on we got we got it in this with Vado predictions now okay well now
- 1:46:23
we get back we get back to the bank's bar no banks is clearly in shape substance wise and bar wise I'm as a fan
- 1:46:33
just curious to see how he's gonna bring this into a full project
- 1:46:38
uh now he's definitely your settlement grab his escort no no of course of course they coming of course this one
- 1:46:43
basically we're gonna grow a grown man album yeah grown man as in and I really I'm such a
- 1:46:50
fan of that of grown men farming rapping like Roman like tell me about what a grown man should be telling me here no
- 1:46:56
it says been prized and I think part of hip hop aging it's been that and I think I think we'll get that from banks I do
- 1:47:03
well not I mean that the same thing we said when he when he called in I hope
- 1:47:08
he's in with other people and not just in his banks introverted shell of let me
- 1:47:14
kill [ __ ] in my house like in a bar on the boat oh [ __ ]
- 1:47:20
I just hope album wise that there's other people in the room producer wise
- 1:47:27
as present in here why's that - like thanks thanks thanks you can hit me bro I can y'all please wrap this up thanks
- 1:47:35
it's so capable of making songs I just want him to be able to do that so yeah and come on give us a release date god
- 1:47:42
damn it oh it's queer with the pandemic now I don't know yeah no I know I can't
- 1:47:47
say more North Court is gonna be [ __ ] nuts I'll tell you that much aside from anything bags for later
- 1:47:53
I hope it is it's gonna be insane everyone's gonna drop in the 4/4 y'all
- 1:47:58
this is good it's come out awesome mall if if not Zacks asked you to help him
- 1:48:04
get [ __ ] would you tell girls that your friend wants to meet them I got him
- 1:48:10
I got him okay oh definitely I mean if his friend is little nas ex it might
- 1:48:16
might hold some weight if their country thins a little not me listen me and
- 1:48:23
little nas ex walking privilege will turn it up that's true we'll turn it up in there yeah I'm bringing nas right up
- 1:48:30
right to Harlem but not now it's coming they're little Nozick's get out they play we would we
- 1:48:35
could take them right to Queens bridge yeah let me let all of the idiots out
- 1:48:42
there who are pressing Drake about his fall off because he came in number two
- 1:48:47
buying Kenny Chesney off his album full of throwaways Leakes who's doing that
- 1:48:52
there are people out there and I feel like I feel like that's the sole purpose of our podcast is to reply to those
- 1:48:59
people oh I thought it was to defend their kill Drake it is always one of you there's no
- 1:49:05
middle next week we're gonna do a podcast and not mention Drake or Griselda no God boo-boo II bring up
- 1:49:14
junior goes the show not if they tried to kill the boy
- 1:49:19
you know he didn't that just goes to show how hello for selling 250 that just
- 1:49:25
the Podesta if you can't always that's why that's hose you have to you have to
- 1:49:32
laugh at that like damn I'm really I'm really that [ __ ] like they did this what they was waiting for like this this
- 1:49:37
is my loss okay yeah whatever do y'all want to talk about future doing
- 1:49:43
the future mean on Mother's Day listen I
- 1:49:49
didn't understand the outrage he was futuring future was wishing all of his
- 1:49:55
baby mothers a happy Mother's Day respectfully gentlemen I didn't understand what the big deal was
- 1:50:02
here's some news that nobody might care about air horns please hold up oh come on Dan that's I'm lower you're
- 1:50:08
all typing they got money you guessed it you waited long enough
- 1:50:13
the wait is over Elliot stapler is returning for season 22 of Law & Order
- 1:50:21
SVU no you actually lit is it let you
- 1:50:27
[ __ ] crazy this was like one of the biggest this was one of the biggest stories of stapler leaving leaving up
- 1:50:35
busting loving hiphop [ __ ] huh SVU he left in any kind of just man but it was
- 1:50:42
there staplers coming back and Olivia's that he left in turmoil really excited
- 1:50:48
about this really excited and I hear he's getting his own spin-off I haven't seen that commercial or heard that
- 1:50:54
tidbit or confirm that tidbit but yeah us Law & Order people are really excited
- 1:50:59
about the return of Elliot Stabler of course that's all I got right I'm very
- 1:51:06
happy for you do you guys have something you're really excited about you want to share no really I don't really get
- 1:51:11
excited all right let's see what else wait wait wait wait wait wait no no we never brush it over to future topic like
- 1:51:18
that how do we brush over to future topic like you know I didn't mean to you had an incoming call roar oh yeah that
- 1:51:23
you guys have to edit Danny yeah Rory is saying why is that toxic I don't know you're serious I'm dead serious
- 1:51:33
okay why is it toxic if you want to join
- 1:51:39
us it is assumed how we got here well first of all but wishing them all happy
- 1:51:44
Mother's Day no it's not time well let me just start with some of the stigmas and stereotypes that exist in America
- 1:51:49
anybody with more than five baby moms has looked at away for starters for sure
- 1:51:55
oh absolutely right so then when you tweet all of them
- 1:52:02
back to back to back to back to back to back to back it just looks like you're
- 1:52:08
not really creating a safe space or separation between you greeting each of
- 1:52:15
them sincerely but that's fine you might have rolled subscribe to that it's also assumed that you don't speak to these
- 1:52:21
people tweeted Ciara okay and it sounded
- 1:52:33
like somebody who don't speak to Ciara like it was a few of them their red
- 1:52:41
might be mother no no cuz he gave little special poems at the end of all of them don't do that
- 1:52:47
so he said Tiana you held me down when times was man-whore honestly I don't even think I'd be alive today if it
- 1:52:53
wasn't for some of those dark deep dark conversations we used to have will you want me maybe through it yo Ciara I love our kid that was dope ha
- 1:53:04
- Reagan - Reagan I can't believe y'all
- 1:53:11
are so toxic no I'm not toxic no I think the Internet is toxic well the internet is toxic because absolutely we sit here
- 1:53:18
and we judge and use your toxic I don't know anything about sure I'll agree
- 1:53:23
there we know nothing about future and his parenting his relationship with his baby mothers it's all [ __ ] headlines
- 1:53:30
and cessation alized gum bubble gum [ __ ] every single time not true we
- 1:53:36
don't know we don't know you don't know about it Joe if I went off on hurt you and your baby mother is that true we
- 1:53:42
don't know about his parenting skills we can't we can't if I go off every headline even [ __ ] you've said that I know isn't true
- 1:53:47
is that like is that fair to put someone's eye like I've said some things in moments of anger okay as has [ __ ]
- 1:53:55
so like that part I want understandable just let me just reply to you and then well that's part of my point larger
- 1:54:01
point but go ahead you're right no we can't go of headlines to zoom out someone parents mm-hmm or a physic where
- 1:54:09
you're wrong is when the headline comes out to tell us about how someone parents
- 1:54:16
and then you tweet and confirm it like homegirl came on set and again my
- 1:54:23
apologies to future because this is personal business like this is his business which is oh that's [ __ ]
- 1:54:30
business of why the Internet is as shitty but it was there was one young lady who for a year straight was saying
- 1:54:36
yo you're his dad you act like that has written on the Internet how many men
- 1:54:42
well you're right listen it happened to a bunch of men that I know in real life yeah and I don't judge men for saying
- 1:54:47
that I mean uh for for being uh in that situation I judge a little bit when the
- 1:54:55
do tweets right after that a lot is that so what come find me that's not what
- 1:55:01
happens come get me that's not no no I'm really not I'm out that's crazy
- 1:55:10
that's some crazy [ __ ] though but it was three to four year now leave me alone
- 1:55:16
you cloud shakes and the words yo you're my baby's dad
- 1:55:24
[Laughter] using math using the word cat but you
- 1:55:34
got to put the blue cat what you can
- 1:55:41
yeah I'm joking in the word in the word and of course pounds last people's family so I'm shutting out in the words
- 1:55:46
of Chappelle's last special if you have the right to get rid of the kid I have the right to abandon them um anyways my
- 1:55:54
bigger point here you might I don't know but you might be getting subbed out it might be a that was a tip but I mean
- 1:56:01
jebel just saying it was true it was hilarious Joseph Seinfeld off stand up no I think
- 1:56:07
it's not I see it anyways let me quickly uh oh you didn't want I didn't think
- 1:56:12
ball show that Seinfeld especially eight more I thought all of us did no prep for
- 1:56:18
this part more takes it to another level and I think that we were going to the Seinfeld stand-up like you didn't all of
- 1:56:26
us loves I hope that's true juwatch uh Chris D'Elia I watched some
- 1:56:33
of it I think a new one hmm probably two
- 1:56:38
three weeks ago thought out for a little while I got it yeah you can't see Joe
- 1:56:57
and I are looking at you liked it is
- 1:57:15
allowed why in this why
- 1:57:28
no I didn't like this this [ __ ] parks parks parks I love parks I don't think
- 1:57:35
it was anything goes I agree I thought it's hello what you normally do like Lucy K right I usually do like him yeah I thought this was kind of lacking
- 1:57:41
substance he didn't really go that deep yeah I thought how was it it was well me
- 1:57:48
okay the last time I got the last time felt one was what three years ago on Netflix
- 1:57:55
it was burying the old those a rehash of his old jokes it was very Seinfeld II this one had its it had its highs and
- 1:58:02
lows I appreciated Seinfeld still having the gift of being able to make us laugh
- 1:58:07
over a joke about absolutely nothing like the most regular [ __ ] in the world yeah his humor he did that it was a
- 1:58:13
bunch of oh very white dad humor yeah yeah yeah but then it was like no no it
- 1:58:19
wasn't with the same allure that Chappelle returns with or Chris Rock
- 1:58:25
returns with like I put Seinfeld in that well you should learn this less Chris Rock don't don't get ahead of yourself
- 1:58:31
yeah but every time they fight a marine [ __ ] was good you need this I didn't like the last Chris Rock one I know you think no no you said you know I liked it
- 1:58:37
but even if I meant that went back to what we were talking about mature with music like Chris Rock [ __ ] wasn't out
- 1:58:44
loud funny it was a an adult divorced man with kids but he's a-talkin adult
- 1:58:50
yeah that was like it was the opposite of Louise it was all substance not enough jokes Louise was all jokes enough
- 1:58:57
substance though he had substance in my Chris Kurt that Chris Rock special was Chris's uh cuz he I went through some
- 1:59:03
real person yeah he got divorced when she talked about me and that was his own you know that was like he was addressing
- 1:59:11
it yeah he was addressing everything like listen you I know what I've been through and if you don't this is what I've been through so but it was funny
- 1:59:16
anytime there is fraud returns whether whether you think the stand-up is funny or not it's with a bang yeah yeah but
- 1:59:23
Seinfeld is has always been know when you let him tell you in a bang from something he's not the bang guy I know I
- 1:59:29
wanna bang cuz you he's up there looking like money he says some [ __ ] in the monologue that said yo I am the bang guy
- 1:59:35
but it just wasn't with a bang watch it just watch it okay I'm watching listless we will talk about the Marc Maron stand
- 1:59:42
up one here I know you and I spoke about it artists yeah the Marc Maron newest one like maybe a month ago I will say when
- 1:59:49
when was it you and I watched it in your living room with Corey it was real funny hilarious we never talked about it
- 1:59:55
where's that Netflix it's our nephews yeah it's uh if you hate the world it's it's right up here it was really good
- 2:00:01
yeah what I and I hate the words those are usually the best comedian like was it just hate everything you're fed up
- 2:00:07
with earth I might I might watch that one again yeah it's really um I washed it again all the futures baby mothers now listen
- 2:00:15
if y'all like it I love it no no it was toxic it was talk my point we got off a red a red nut it's like oh
- 2:00:22
he's doing the meme he's actively doing the mean right now on the timeline in
- 2:00:28
real time you've asked this person to to parent in public which he has said he
- 2:00:34
doesn't want to do and then he parents to some degree I wouldn't say parent but talks about the mother of his children
- 2:00:40
publicly and then y'all kill him for doing that make up your minds I'm not gonna lie make up your minds on future I
- 2:00:46
want him to publicly talk about his personal life with his baby mothers or not I don't care what future does I already have man this is what the
- 2:00:53
internet what I am I have March Madness he could go do whatever the [ __ ] you
- 2:01:00
wanna do that's my [ __ ] dance about that of reply to Rory and I forgot what I was
- 2:01:06
about to reply with what did you say do you what he was doing the mean what I was saying that the Internet has killed
- 2:01:13
him for not being such an active father publicly because they don't know nothing about his fatherhood in your real life
- 2:01:19
so yeah what you want from the guy then he talks about his baby mothers on live
- 2:01:25
or not alive on Twitter and in public the [ __ ] I gotta make up your [ __ ] mind about him I got yeah but I can't
- 2:01:31
win on internet I got curse there have fun with that but that [ __ ] is he got a oh no it was sick but yes like I fan but
- 2:01:40
I know for a fact you have all the a baby mother's phone I was like you can text them this you don't have to this is like you're performing at this point
- 2:01:46
it's and then yeah we joke with it why would who will talk that you could text your baby no it's not a little toxic
- 2:01:52
it's a lot toxic it's a lot of toxic like you like about how many six seven different
- 2:01:57
women like I need you to help me when I was learning online yo yo man imagine
- 2:02:03
that trio lone oz X go and mall just hitting hitting the scene hit his do it
- 2:02:09
hitting the scene so there's nowhere to go right now but we could try I took a drive the other night how was that oh
- 2:02:15
yeah you told her she was going today I was a really nice drive I [ __ ] went to Jones Beach I came back just such an
- 2:02:22
idea for that such a what hood baby for that for yo it felt good to just get dressed and get out the house I'll be
- 2:02:28
honest with you now we own Long Beach now man Long Beach Long Island not California yeah that's a good job though
- 2:02:36
that's true no it is hold up moment sure see I knew
- 2:02:41
you went at night yeah the Sun had just went down took a nice long ride out the it was a real nice scenic route it
- 2:02:47
looked beautiful so goddamn alright Joey yeah I'm like [ __ ] you tell me for [ __ ] turn around go go outside no no get the
- 2:02:56
ocean air no not at all that's corny I took the trip oh yeah I rolled the window I was good at with two hours of
- 2:03:02
rolling the window down playing jams and just looking at [ __ ] not last my trust me trust me I was fine I didn't need to
- 2:03:09
get out the car that's definite I'm trying to figure out where I want to do that at again like what other drive I
- 2:03:15
could just take uh [ __ ] not for nothing going down to [ __ ] the Parkway down
- 2:03:22
down baby your street in a range roll yeah that one just get the ranch you have what you have arranged to have a velar now hit
- 2:03:32
the Parkway Jersey Shore that's a great Drive yes no future is very toxic for sure mr. [ __ ] is back crack joke now
- 2:03:42
you idiots doctor you can't tweet all your baby we know what you come off as Mike Stone and let me let me announce to
- 2:03:49
the men out there tweeting happy Mother's Day to your child's mom
- 2:03:56
don't hit like we think yeah no no I
- 2:04:02
don't know I don't and you should and you know that though you know what I didn't know that before this no you know that we
- 2:04:08
you know you shouldn't be a social meeting when I tell you that I saw you
- 2:04:13
can kill without I thought I was bodying that anytime we're body and [ __ ] I
- 2:04:20
thought I killed that like I woke up bright and early well no your response was my favorite
- 2:04:25
part of it that didn't get any notoriety yeah my first PM has no interest in
- 2:04:32
social media so mind your [ __ ] business she's kind of my point with the future she's [ __ ] do it dress her on social
- 2:04:39
media it's not a slight to her it's no less love for her I'm just saying I
- 2:04:44
thought tweeted that she's thinking I was doing some spectacular [ __ ] man man 5 o'clock game boy did I get cursed it
- 2:04:51
just kind of be my thing with people on social media I got cursed clear the [ __ ] out clearly some of us don't want to put
- 2:04:57
all of our personal lives for y'all to tear apart or even comment on whether it
- 2:05:03
shouldn't though and you shouldn't I think I think you know the acknowledge
- 2:05:09
of your son's mom or your child's mom why or Mother's Day no no why I see
- 2:05:15
that's why bummer tell you I'm but but that's that's where we are now when you do [ __ ] away from social media you
- 2:05:20
moving funny you acting funny like that's how it is now if you don't do [ __ ] publicly anymore oh he acting funny
- 2:05:27
like when you don't tell people what you got going on and what you're doing oh you move a sneaky you be in suspect it
- 2:05:32
was like what do it because listen when Lex feel like having a rowdy weekend when he's with me and maybe you're not
- 2:05:40
supposed to say this boy do I be happy to drop his little bad ass off the scent like I be worn out for the weekend when
- 2:05:47
he decided to get one weighing for where the public man so when he leaves like I
- 2:05:53
have a really high appreciation for what single moms go through on a regular
- 2:05:58
basis like for me like I'll say this in nine I mean I can't have my son because
- 2:06:04
I got to get a haircut into a single mom it's like [ __ ] huh what did you yeah
- 2:06:11
you didn't tell me you got to get a haircut you can't see your kid right and and I'm not using that example but just
- 2:06:16
somewhere in that ballpark so cool what you just said makes sense I'm waiting for the part that the public
- 2:06:25
matters to any event of course what sin is and why we're just program single
- 2:06:30
mothers go to think that we have to why on program because you have to do that ur to show another matter to the public
- 2:06:37
anything that has to do with your personal life because if you don't you I think that it adds to you showing
- 2:06:45
appreciation or acknowledging all that she goes through with art with our child
- 2:06:52
while you're not I was just pressured into that you want it you want to show you want to show your baby mother that you appreciate
- 2:06:57
what she goes through to pick you up pick your kid up on a random weekend and just taking full week wait but I don't
- 2:07:02
so where's the validation in what well no strangers no because when you do that mall it's just like [ __ ] that's your
- 2:07:08
kid exactly exactly which is me you
- 2:07:14
don't get points for posting on social media yeah it's your kid you're supposed to that matter if it's your baby mother you're supposed to appreciate it he's
- 2:07:20
supposed to show love for you like you don't get no points for that people just feel like they need some sense of gratification or some sense of you know
- 2:07:27
they need people to respond to what they're saying I don't put it that's why people say now or you don't share [ __ ]
- 2:07:32
or what you hiding like no I'm not hiding it right like this
- 2:07:37
I'm not put I'm not putting no no I know
- 2:07:43
what you need but I get what you mean Oh Joe I understand exactly what you're saying it's like but why why am I putting this out there for what but if
- 2:07:50
you don't if you don't acknowledge a baby mother publicly on social media or they going through some Dane speak and
- 2:07:56
they beefing they'd it yeah it's kind of its kind of contradictory I've been talking to her all day on her phone that
- 2:08:01
saw her earlier like they don't need to know that those moms to that point of you Joe just speaking about sin and
- 2:08:07
you're happy Mother's Day posts yeah you got torn apart from people that don't matter to anything that has to do with
- 2:08:13
your personal life because they don't know what's going on and either way they're gonna speculate and either way it's gonna be negative and she's so what
- 2:08:19
the [ __ ] is the point that I now owe y'all some type of my personal life on Instagram no you don't owe them anything
- 2:08:27
you do it thinking that you're [ __ ] BM is gonna feel big dumped big up well
- 2:08:33
that I mean that's that's another conversation whether because I think it's not just BMS and it's men to something you [ __ ]
- 2:08:38
about this you know I it's among its p.m. on general that that kid and that's
- 2:08:44
the only one that matters in that situation yeah see it's true no I should people get a salad ship is great from
- 2:08:50
yeah and that's what people searching for validation but but from the wrong from people that validates you they want
- 2:08:57
to fire you down validation don't want to bring you up they want to tear you down know yo y'all right all right I'm
- 2:09:05
serious no I'm actually serious okay you're not it's cool I'm totally not joking right now this is the one time where I will
- 2:09:11
take advice about kids from [ __ ] who don't have kids y'all right oh no I'm talking about social personal life in
- 2:09:17
social media your locker happens to be kids that we're talking I don't want people to think that I'm joking you guys are absolutely correct shout out to
- 2:09:24
shout to all the single moms out there shout all the dads out there shout they by parents here gonna get to this
- 2:09:30
co-parenting man stuff inch and shout outs to all the weirdos that think they can tell you everything about your life
- 2:09:36
or a post or a comment y'all have [ __ ] weirdos anyways I
- 2:09:44
agree alright come on in and we gotta talk about Jason Derulo taking over the
- 2:09:49
world do we have it yeah they were really have to they were killing Jason Derulo all
- 2:09:54
weekend why would I kill a Jason Derulo because he's been sick talking in abundance and abundance is a funny word
- 2:10:01
he's been sick talking in abundance he has and they're like Safari ish tick-tocks I've never seen like Far East
- 2:10:08
tick tocks well he Safari don't have a tick tock but you've seen Safari pop locking pop lock and drop it so Jason Derulo is pop locking was this
- 2:10:15
one is only fancy he's yeah well no not just the rule you said yes pretty quickly if you subscribe
- 2:10:22
as cool as [ __ ] business Perot you Hayden could Safari gave me the secret code oh you hatin cuz I got an access
- 2:10:30
code that's true Jason Derulo has been
- 2:10:36
tick talking right he's he's been seen doing some type of cat dog sexy dog walk
- 2:10:43
on some daytime talk show and all of these clips defame just ganged up and was killing him over
- 2:10:49
the weekend so I've tweet him like yo am I missing something why be killing Jason Derulo and they just started flooding me with mad vids from Jason Derulo where
- 2:10:57
he's going he's going crazy he's going crazy gonna tick tock now in his defense dant he's dancing dancing but it's like
- 2:11:04
pop lock dancing it's robot dancing here's a lot more than he's doing anything weird that you could do on
- 2:11:10
tick-tock now there's some skits in his defense Safari tells me that Jason's
- 2:11:16
where you get all your what no because I tweeted that tweeted Safari Safari was
- 2:11:22
looking for cartoonists and I said yes Safari will put an end to Jason Derulo once and for all with the cartoon pop
- 2:11:30
blocking so then so far I was like listen they killing Jason Derulo but
- 2:11:35
Jason Derulo does have like 15 million subscribers on tick-tock he's like the biggest one of the biggest guys on me
- 2:11:41
also tours around the world with that domain and Domino ticked up and I'm just
- 2:11:47
talking about him already having a fanbase locked into who he is yeah but I appreciate that an older act can
- 2:11:54
generate interest or a newer and he's considered an older action why old is he younger than you probably
- 2:12:00
he looked well that not saying much he look he looks great but he's been around for a while yeah for sure no I'm saying that it's
- 2:12:06
crazy that he's considered a older act that's all I'll say this really quickly and it this matters nothing to anybody
- 2:12:11
but me in one of those tick tocks he showed like his door opening and on the
- 2:12:17
left side of his entrance he has this huge piece of mirrored art it's like
- 2:12:23
from floor to ceiling damn-near and we only see it for like three seconds and I
- 2:12:29
saw it and I said I bet these people that are killing Jason Derulo are not
- 2:12:35
paying attention to the details like that big-ass mirror art piece that looked like it cost about five million
- 2:12:41
dollars you saw your reflection right next to the left looking in the phone it was beautiful it was beautiful hey Jason
- 2:12:47
Derulo has a lot of money you better [ __ ] believe where she's gonna I don't think y'all realize what he does around the world touring one he's one of
- 2:12:53
the Nick at Nite boys right sure he was on Kenan & Kel
- 2:12:58
Kenan and listen Jason Derulo I used to kill for a long time cuz he was super corny and he
- 2:13:04
was like the black kid that was from London and he was just corny but then I recognized from I don't know where he's
- 2:13:11
from but I recognize he's not he's not found of help I don't know one of his cousins and Queens that's why I dance
- 2:13:16
but I recognized how big he was pause and how how much of a global star he was
- 2:13:22
and then I kind of just left my hate for him alone because a lot of the corny dudes I know are my Eskimo brothers so
- 2:13:29
like I can't kill them well clearly those girls have a type yes I've been
- 2:13:38
done killing Jason Derulo for a little while the people that are just jumping on the kill Jason Derulo train you guys
- 2:13:43
are super late and it might be outdated now but have fun no have a black hair about two from Miami
- 2:13:54
it's [ __ ] my age um no this is what y'all do this watch out do with all the
- 2:14:00
acts that get poppin on the new app I did it with Khalid and called him corny and took him to Ellen like you're gonna
- 2:14:05
do your maid Carolyn a global phenomenon you're gonna do it with Jason Derulo there's so much value in hate that I
- 2:14:12
don't shy away from it anymore so it took me a while to deal with it but there's so there's more value in it
- 2:14:18
there's much more that's how I got here they thought they were hating me out of the game no mad unique impressions for
- 2:14:29
me to bring to shoot me to bring to a potential suitor food oh look you know this is the amount of times they type my
- 2:14:34
name it didn't met they're not checking to see what they saying yes I we're saying [ __ ] Joe Budden [ __ ] pump it up
- 2:14:40
Joe Budden we'll never make it Joe Budden I hate you not ain't care impressions engagement like people don't
- 2:14:49
realize hear about your mental health through it all they don't care about that you do no no but they're they're
- 2:14:56
hurting me at the same time you do know
- 2:15:03
that that a collection of he's irrelevant tweets make you relevant right well I was the one that was
- 2:15:10
telling my my my haters and dislike kurz that they were using the wrong word
- 2:15:16
I they met insignificant they were saying irrelevant but even then you're
- 2:15:23
still if we're talking about social media which is insignificant as is your
- 2:15:28
significant on there by the it's the same rules with relevant in irrelevant if your significant on the internet now
- 2:15:36
I'm not saying you in particular but the people that they say are insignificant ya know here when they were calling me
- 2:15:41
irrelevant they meant to say insignificant but they're making you significant in saying that I'm
- 2:15:46
significant since that's the part they miss that's the part they miss oh yeah same thing applies to relevant yes it's the same thing I'm relevant because
- 2:15:52
you're making irrelevant yeah yeah I'm only significant part yeah which I just
- 2:15:58
wish people if they didn't like something would just just shut up about it I would say Jason Derulo to uh privilege he would do numbers and
- 2:16:06
privilege privileges the size of this room what did this tree is gonna do in
- 2:16:17
the Joe Budden Derulo collaboration takes place Lauder House come on at the spot that fifty owners
- 2:16:23
come on man hit these in there too oh this is funny a bigger said privilege it's not like at the tough spot the grow
- 2:16:29
man his house bromance house and old Williams its
- 2:16:34
brownie has a bro and of course you would make a gayer then romance on the word case yeah look out shook they got
- 2:16:42
Rory terrified you have to edit the word gay yeah I'm terrified I've been very vocal about Tara funny
- 2:16:48
oh don't you say some homophobic [ __ ] all you gotta do is come out the closet afterward I mean you could do that to
- 2:16:53
take your pod to the next level know I've been asking you guys to do that for two years come out the closet no never
- 2:17:00
that's what I thought alright anyway man listen man what else do we got I'm gay I wasn't asking you all to come
- 2:17:06
out the club I would never pressure you
- 2:17:13
guys to come out of the closet no I think you'd be an understanding friend and not in the closet you're out of it
- 2:17:18
look you come mister [ __ ] that was never in the closet don't even have a closet my clothes on the floor
- 2:17:24
right well I don't even go in there to class I don't I don't have anything else that I'd need to talk about the pilot
- 2:17:33
the pilot the pilots wife from the Kobe Bryant crash is blaming the crash on the
- 2:17:39
passengers so it was the brother I thought the brother our risotto buy-ins brother I think the wife is I read yeah a few legal team
- 2:17:47
she was blaming the passengers which I would assume is gonna be pretty hard to prove the passengers were just seated
- 2:17:54
and you can't prove that without like how can you prove it oh yes as a the
- 2:18:04
pilots brother said that they knew the risk before the deadly crash you would still have to prove that and you can't
- 2:18:09
yes it was a horrific crash again rest in peace to Kobe Bryant and everyone who lost their life in that crash oh yes
- 2:18:16
it's a good time no I I've read into that I'm sorry I was chopping together uh no the headline was was much more
- 2:18:24
than if you read the article she wasn't saying that they were responsible for the crash they were saying that they
- 2:18:29
were complacent and going on to that helicopter knowing that a helicopter could crash if you get onto it
- 2:18:35
yeah but the ultimate decision is in the controller I dream I agree with Vanessa
- 2:18:41
Bryant in this theory should be suing that company but that headline was way nastier I'm like listen I understand you
- 2:18:48
doing the salacious headlines to get clicks but there's some [ __ ] that's sacred to me like come on stop making up
- 2:18:53
these head laws it's [ __ ] disgusting like that that woman is older that woman who also lost a husband who was the
- 2:19:00
pilot is going through something as well not just the Bryant family yeah like now you're taking it and it looks like that
- 2:19:06
headline says the pilots wife says the people onboard are responsible for the
- 2:19:12
crash y'all are [ __ ] gross like there's some things that you can you can ease up on the headline it's that whole
- 2:19:19
lawsuits gonna be pretty uh pretty hard to read yeah I do like the rule that there or the law that they're trying to
- 2:19:25
implement saying that it is a crime to
- 2:19:31
take pictures as a first responder yes all that that's what I do like that I do
- 2:19:37
let's go in and hopefully hopefully that should be that should just be common
- 2:19:42
sense because they don't think don't they as never but don't they have people that are like hired directly to take
- 2:19:48
pictures of not crime scenes but crashes and anything for investigations yeah so
- 2:19:53
why on our honor be your first responder to take care of the people that are hurt
- 2:19:59
or and or maybe dead not to take pictures the [ __ ] it is a little bit
- 2:20:04
dangerous though because imagine a situation like what police brutality or something
- 2:20:10
like that what if what if a EMS person was the first person there and videotapes it and now he gets a a charge
- 2:20:16
instead of doing good for yeah situation was it is a slippery slope well he
- 2:20:23
wouldn't be the first responder if it was a police brutality the policeman yeah and the first responder would be
- 2:20:28
after Dan one no i guess the cop would be the first responder but know how that goes I don't know it's all messy come on
- 2:20:37
let's get into this rest in peace rest in peace stuff so we can not get out of here because that certainly sounds
- 2:20:42
insensitive but I don't want to I'm not in the best of spirits
- 2:20:48
regarding it I woke I woke up I woke up to that news the news Andre Harrell and
- 2:20:55
my phone from my revolt family and in the actual group chat that Dre was in
- 2:21:00
yeah and mm-hmm that wasn't right it wasn't that news it
- 2:21:08
circly I think d-nice announced at that night but I went to bed and I was real glad that I didn't see it before I went
- 2:21:14
to bed because I would had a hard time but I cried that whole morning I cried that whole morning um I felt better
- 2:21:22
knowing that you know we always use this term give people their flowers um I felt
- 2:21:29
somewhat better and a little bit relieved in the fact that every single
- 2:21:34
time I saw Andre RL I let him know exactly how I felt about him like I let
- 2:21:42
him know just how much I appreciated his contribution to music as a whole I let
- 2:21:49
him know that I didn't think he received the props and the credit that he should
- 2:21:55
like Dre was he was instrumental in helping helping put state of the culture
- 2:22:02
together um and even though his his run
- 2:22:09
I won't say was over but his the new jack city uptown MC a run was over Dre was still
- 2:22:18
really instrumental and a lot of behind the scenes [ __ ] and put one of the things that I really enjoyed about Dre was outside of the
- 2:22:25
fact that he was always smiling is that at any one of these like functions that
- 2:22:34
all the DS famous people were at they all had a really unique relationship
- 2:22:39
with Andre Harrell like the love that they gave him and that they showed him I learned was very similar to the love
- 2:22:47
that I showed him like people really understood the Mogul and the giant that
- 2:22:54
he was and if you had a hard time realizing that like for me it was very
- 2:22:59
obvious when I first got around puff that Dre was one of the minds that he
- 2:23:07
respected and that did something like even when it was time and like even when
- 2:23:15
you disagreed with puff like Dre was the person to help me help me put together
- 2:23:22
how we could get puff to understand what we were saying without letting him know
- 2:23:28
that we disagreed like he was just them he was so instrumental in in making me
- 2:23:35
feel at home making me feel comfortable seeing the things that I saw creatively
- 2:23:41
like speaking on that frequency you know you ever give us somebody who who they
- 2:23:47
just start talking what you talk it's like when parks get into his geek bag with people like it's a different language yeah and that's what it was
- 2:23:54
every time I spoke to Dre he had a million stories he's worked with everybody that you think is legendary
- 2:24:00
and they all know that he's legendary um I just want to say Dre I love you I miss
- 2:24:06
you rest in peace but I know that you would want us to celebrate life so I
- 2:24:13
didn't I haven't been too much time crying because that's not who Dre was
- 2:24:19
that's not who Dre was and that wasn't the nature of our relationship he would
- 2:24:24
want everybody to keep it pushing I also was real happy that Dre was working on
- 2:24:30
his uh New Jack New Jack Swing story yeah and I don't want to misspeak but I
- 2:24:38
think he actually closed that deal with BT from what I saw yeah it appeared that
- 2:24:43
way so his story will be told super unfortunate that he won't be
- 2:24:49
around to see it but I know that'll mean a lot to his family to his to his son to
- 2:24:56
ever to his loved ones that he left mine and to an entire generation of music
- 2:25:01
fans who and got started to control but
- 2:25:06
and if you know if you never had the chance to meet Andre Harrell and being the presence of him you just have to
- 2:25:12
look at pictures and videos of him he was always smiling yeah he was always having a good time and I
- 2:25:17
think that's who he should be remembered as and will be remembered as someone that just always had a good time and
- 2:25:24
always was full of life and full of uh you know just happiness and I think that
- 2:25:29
that's something that um that the industry needs more of the industry needs more people like Andre people that
- 2:25:36
are passionate people that care about people people that care about you know our people having a good time you know I
- 2:25:44
mean the desktop you know I remember seeing on your hero years ago on video music box and I'm like who is this dude
- 2:25:50
with the glasses that's always smiling with the suit on you know I mean I had no idea what was but then as you could
- 2:25:55
always saw though he's person behind this person and this acting this is that okay I get it I get why he's always
- 2:26:00
smiling he's always full of life because he is the life provided the party yeah absolutely
- 2:26:05
like I don't know what a party looks like without his contribution to music
- 2:26:11
absolutely really glad he was here to get to see the Teddy Riley babyface battle um
- 2:26:17
glad that I was able to call him after that battle and just shoot the [ __ ] and chop it up man Dre was one of those
- 2:26:24
moguls that would answer the phone like and I know that just sounds really small but that's a big you know I'm not
- 2:26:31
gonna get people that accomplished to just answer the phone and he and he did
- 2:26:36
that for me you did that for people we just met anybody it was I could see why
- 2:26:42
he was who he was the guy instrument and pushing people to where they needed
- 2:26:48
to be and and that's all I got cuz I'm not really there yet ready to talk about
- 2:26:53
I know that's gonna be a totally different conversation when we do stated a culture of this we imagined
- 2:26:59
yeah man but uh rest in peace rest in peace to Andrew here oh praise to his family [ __ ] I didn't personally know him
- 2:27:07
at a few run-ins just in you know running around but he was that new [ __ ]
- 2:27:13
directly to what I love music wise I could probably pinpoint right back
- 2:27:18
right back to Audrey a row at the top of that family tree of what changed my life
- 2:27:23
musically yeah he's he's the root of a lot of what we listen to and do now I
- 2:27:29
like what yeah very well but not modern music through through clients I was
- 2:27:34
working on something that he was involved with around time that he passed so rest in peace man legend super legend
- 2:27:41
1000% yeah that's all the way quiet legend that that's a thing that
- 2:27:47
yeah he wasn't he wasn't he wasn't very loud yeah his work he let his you know he let his passion speak for him and he
- 2:27:53
let other people tell his story and and I kind of loves just just from the outside looking that quality of not just
- 2:27:59
with puff with other acts to like letting people out grow a situation and say now you you're no longer useful here
- 2:28:06
you're useful on your own like you need to move on from the situation that I've helped you with it's it's so so many
- 2:28:13
mentors are not even mentors or people that's put you on hold you within that deal or circle that you're in and never
- 2:28:21
say like nos Tom they don't want you to yo at that point the conversation we were talking about earlier jokingly
- 2:28:27
about recognizing that your son is cool now yeah and kind of having to let go like mm-hmm
- 2:28:34
I applaud Dre for that like yeah yeah for Dre to be responsible for puff start
- 2:28:40
and to stay there throughout the whole journey as puff kind of eclipses some
- 2:28:46
[ __ ] mm-hmm Vietnam and it's different and still betta if he if puff needed him
- 2:28:53
no he was dinner you know I mean he like that's but a lot of people you know when they they see the person that they put
- 2:28:59
on or gave their first shot become so huge and successful some people don't you know they don't take well to that
- 2:29:05
they start to feel some type of way and most most people yeah most people and you know he was there letting them know
- 2:29:11
like you know listen if you need anything you know I'm still here and still right by yourself and letting cuz
- 2:29:18
big had signed that uptown contract big didn't signed him that boy right away half already to die was owned by by
- 2:29:26
Andre mm-hmm to understand that puff was doing something bigger and saying yo
- 2:29:33
just just pay for this [ __ ] over here and that show artist now you found him you brought him to me I'm not gonna hold
- 2:29:39
that even though I own that here you go yeah that says sometimes Lou that's
- 2:29:45
crazy another Bronx legend for sure Thom shortly after that news broke that
- 2:29:51
Little Richard Little Richard had passed um if you're
- 2:29:56
not familiar with Little Richard I mean walking up what can I say the one of the impetus [ __ ] of inventor rock and roll innovator he was
- 2:30:05
it he was so dope that James Brown was his opening act Jimi Hendrix was his side man the Beatles opened up for him
- 2:30:12
rolling stones up opened up for him crazy yeah that's a bad man
- 2:30:18
I'm yeah you you would say pretty much every Rock act picked up a guitar because of him and Chuck Berry if he
- 2:30:26
would already to let them tell it and just one of the performers flat out period that we've ever seen
- 2:30:32
I was watching Little Richard um in different clips they were showing after his passing the interviews the
- 2:30:38
performances and all that and I was like oh [ __ ] why did I never notice how much
- 2:30:45
prints pulled from Little Richard oh yeah absolutely of course brown to listen Joe oh well
- 2:30:58
not me just but you know study music the same way we all do and understand where people graduate they all they all but he
- 2:31:05
would let you know they all they all took if not know but I'm I'm saying neighborhood I'm saying even in terms of
- 2:31:10
the things that I didn't really understand as a child like Little Richard being gay or bisexual Prince
- 2:31:17
being gay or bisexual and boisterous and it standing in it maybe before it was cool check out my post
- 2:31:22
yeah the loud outfits the personality the hair the rock the makeup that yeah
- 2:31:27
just all of it like [ __ ] just how you perform how you are he did a really great
- 2:31:35
interview with Letterman on 1982 I believe it was I'll put it on the timeline tomorrow Senate to go but it
- 2:31:41
was like a 20 minute interview and he discusses all that yeah that's the one I watch that's the one I watched I was
- 2:31:46
like damn I didn't I never put the dots together did prints pulled so much from
- 2:31:51
this guy yeah absolutely yeah but yeah I mean with those type of people with Prince and with Little
- 2:31:56
Richard like to be able to influence so man everyone like me right like I
- 2:32:03
remember I think I came on on this pod when it was early when Prince it passed and I was like yeah my dad is the
- 2:32:10
super-hard Irish I like rock and roll do like [ __ ] that
- 2:32:15
but thanks princess the baddest dude on earth like Little Richard was like that to where you could influence these
- 2:32:22
hardcore rock and roll guys and act that way like we picked up guitars because of
- 2:32:27
this guy like there's no especially at that time there's no discrimination on how he
- 2:32:32
was behaving we all thought that was the dopest [ __ ] ever yeah to do that in that era is nuts
- 2:32:37
I learned I have a really special connection with with the talented people that go above and beyond and go out of
- 2:32:45
their way to buck the system like yeah I'm I'm really attracted to everything Prince ever did because I believe that
- 2:32:52
he's just the greatest to ever do it but a part of that is in how he went against
- 2:32:58
the system oh the same with Little Richard same with Sam Cooke yeah because
- 2:33:06
the great ones usually know Joe that it's um you know the system is flawed and the system is designed a certain way
- 2:33:13
to keep certain artists and under under some type of control and certain artists are not meant to be controlled you have
- 2:33:20
to let artists the great ones the legendary ones you can't you can't hold them back their talent is too big but
- 2:33:26
they bring to the to the world and the art that they bring is just too big to be controlled by some type of system
- 2:33:33
that y'all have created that you know I mean it's like what are we even talking about like my talent is too big to even
- 2:33:39
work under the system that y'all have created and I think that you know the ones that are legendary and the ones
- 2:33:45
that are so influential they understand and they see that early like my talent can't be boxed into this system it can't
- 2:33:51
be just out of curiosity a few weeks ago I asked my mom cuz I do remember I
- 2:33:56
remember asking my mom hey mom who was a huge Prince fan why is he a symbol now I
- 2:34:02
remember asking that so a few weeks ago I said to my mom because I was thinking about my journey through the music
- 2:34:08
business and like why couldn't I be taught some [ __ ] and I landed on that question I wanted to ask my mom cuz in
- 2:34:14
my head I'm like if she would explain this simple [ __ ] to me back then I feel
- 2:34:19
like I would have had a better understanding but said mom did I ask you about why he was the same one and what
- 2:34:25
was your answer and she said she told me she said come he was fighting was record label it's a dam but they don't give me
- 2:34:31
everything tell me much not saying that yo that label owned his name
- 2:34:39
we couldn't do [ __ ] without them attached to it since my mom was into music she wasn't into the music business yeah yeah I can't put that on earth no
- 2:34:46
of course not um rest in peace Little Richard absolutely I saw going certainly not
- 2:34:52
forgotten shortly after that Betty Wright passes yeah no pain no gain
- 2:34:57
mmm what do you do when I first saw that I thought it was Betty White but Betty White is immortal right Betty right but
- 2:35:07
I thought Betty White had the [ __ ] a white lady will you've got a damn it
- 2:35:12
yeah Betty right pass and I'm like okay death comes in threes this is tough these are three legends and grace yeah
- 2:35:19
they they didn't take nobody mediocre from us like no they went straight they went straight to it and then the
- 2:35:27
following day Jerry Stiller another legend four of them four of them were
- 2:35:35
like really quick yeah not for play play yeah four in a row the weekend was tough
- 2:35:41

- 2:35:49

- 2:36:37

- 2:36:43
her Elle and I said that all the time but now a few of these [ __ ] sites they post an Andre Harrell's son's
- 2:36:49
picture and it's freaking me out it's freaking me out but I guess that's the
- 2:36:55
point like we're supposed to make sponges yeah
