- 3:27
everyone i'm great personally going alright great amazing
- 3:36
i got locked out because i was like going back at certain people oh you know it wasn't my choice you
- 3:42
reacted a little bit
- 3:48
you can't tag me and tag the joe button pod page to complain because it goes to me so it's like the
- 3:54
[ __ ] are you doing you're not supposed to reply to anything that you have have emotions about i don't have emotions about it i thought
- 4:00
it was funny that's trolling joe yeah that's part of the new age problem that exists it's not trolling you [ __ ]
- 4:07
are soft and sensitive because you tagged me twice they think they're talking to you trolling is just
- 4:12
like one of the words that they know they don't know what trolling i'm watching i'm watching the deadline
- 4:17
law and order that's not me that you're cursing out and if it was i wouldn't say nothing i won't say none
- 4:23
i don't care like don't let these people don't let them live rent free don't let them live rent-free listen man
- 4:30
i don't know what happened i don't know what happened in the world of hip-hop i don't know what's going on i
- 4:35
know ray and ghost went back and forth i saw a little bit of that that was awesome we'll get into it
- 4:41
uh the white boys got right back to shooting we'll get right we'll get into it yes that happens yeah they did rest in peace
- 4:47
to anybody lost their life uh lives in this this is a mess and we'll get into all of that but we have
- 4:53
we have some business that we need to address first and foremost because the streets are in a frenzy yeah
- 5:01
the streets talk yeah did you know they would be in a frenzy this way absolutely you knew they were i
- 5:07
think it was actually a little tamer than yeah i expected way worse than what i saw but the streets are in a
- 5:13
frenzy yeah you know i take things i take things maybe certain things for granted
- 5:19
certainly not this platform and this audience and how just rabbit they are
- 5:25
with certain things i get that but you know last week was a tough it was a tough pod well the week before
- 5:32
that we've been working through things yeah right we've been working through things and what i'm here to do today
- 5:37
in the absence of my guys is lean into transparency because that's
- 5:42
just the only way i know how to do things so maybe some of the conversations that we've avoided having
- 5:48
uh maybe we can have some of them today in a nice respectful manner of course
- 5:56
right so for me this starts it was rough rough rough cool and you look for an escape from
- 6:03
work and on the weekends you know my dad makes breakfast me and my cousins go over there saturday morning i
- 6:09
head right over to my dad's have some grits and eggs it's good breakfast yeah some bacon ham
- 6:15
some wild country [ __ ] it was some good [ __ ] going on that's delicious yeah and they were lined up in the
- 6:20
living room and the kitchen in all ears waiting to hear about what
- 6:26
happened to the podcast damn streets talk to everybody
- 6:33
he almost burnt the grits talking about not chill i need to hear
- 6:39
this i need to hear what's going on i don't know my family to be that
- 6:44
invested in podcast business so of course sometimes it starts with yo man i don't even be checking for the
- 6:50
pond like that but my one man who listens faithfully that's how it goes exactly how it goes it's always that one
- 6:57
he said and he he got the scoop yeah it's coming it's coming to attend he's
- 7:02
got theories everyone's got theories there's a lot of theories but the one man that listens faithfully he got the theories yeah but uh but all
- 7:10
right so i didn't know that my whole family would be up in arms about this podcast stuff but cool i have an
- 7:15
uncomfortable breakfast and i leave and as soon as i leave the next spot i get to i'll go to my
- 7:21
homegirl house sit in the balcony chill out catch a vibe just trying to keep it positive because it's a lot going on out there
- 7:28
and she says yo man what the hell is going on with the pod
- 7:34
the fellas weren't there is it over that's a lot of that
- 7:42
did hermes no this is all her okay and then i guess she had some friends too that inquired
- 7:49
and then that was the course of my day and my weekend and everywhere i went my phone was ringing and people had
- 7:55
questions about the pods i did what any normal respectable human being would do i went home and i locked
- 8:00
myself in my closet as to avoid having to answer some of
- 8:07
these things the last part we came in here and i thought i was doing a solid by saying yo
- 8:13
the guys are on vacation oh come on nothing but more conspiracy right now
- 8:19
they said we're doing a roll out yo everything is a role everything's a
- 8:26
roll out that would make sense yeah but maybe we should roll maybe let's roll with it let's roll something out
- 8:31
there you go wait what did they say it's a roll out roll something out but y'all got something coming down the pipeline yeah
- 8:39
i have an issue with so many of these things i don't even know where to begin with all of this okay so this is where we begin
- 8:47
i'll eliminate some of the suspense because i either love or hate when a show or doc does that
- 8:52
uh rory and maul are not here but this is rory's seat
- 8:58
this is not isis seat correct and that is mall seat and whenever they feel like
- 9:03
returning to their seats then they'll return to their seats then i can go back to work
- 9:11
and then what will happen is the same thing that happens when your star players come back ice will go
- 9:17
back to his job save on will go back to being voiceless in the corner just taking the time stamps and then
- 9:24
everything is cool but i also really enjoyed uh us getting killed i enjoyed save on getting killed ice getting killed
- 9:30
me getting killed because all i did was show up to work right all you did was show up when i
- 9:35
asked you to do me a favor yo do me a song i need you to call out for a minute i didn't even know what i was doing save
- 9:40
on ain't ready for prime time like this prime time no no no that's not true
- 9:47
that's not true you should maybe be the opening act not ready for prime time you thrust into this position with
- 9:53
this huge ten o'clock slot maybe this huge audience that's accustomed to certain personalities takes delivered a
- 10:00
certain way it's not right it's not fair but hey hey sink or swim buddy no i understand i
- 10:06
get it it's a show it's a sitcom to me yeah so these are these these are these guys's seats
- 10:11
and i'll be honest with you guys i love when podcasts go through this
- 10:17
type of turmoil i do but i'm weird
- 10:23
no objections no i was just i love when podcasts go
- 10:28
through this because it it shapes things it shapes character
- 10:34
uh even two weeks ago or how many weeks ago i was saying rory here yo sometimes i love when the
- 10:41
situation just presents itself so you can see your girl get in see what she'll do in that moment and he
- 10:46
said to me well what do you what do you mean give me an example and i said i can't think of one right now but i'll get back to
- 10:52
you ta-da this is exactly what i'm talking about if you're asking me and this is a
- 10:57
transparent talk here i would have never envisioned anything like this happening
- 11:03
oh my god what happens is the best of them buddy yeah
- 11:08
rory oh and not here they're talking are they the streets
- 11:17
who knows i don't know who the streets is i'm just saying some of this stuff you can't plan for you can't envision all you could do is let the universe
- 11:23
play out and see the side of the fence that everyone stands on so i start there i start what i love
- 11:29
when podcasts go through this because it builds character one start with uh i love rory and maul that's
- 11:35
brothers james yeah savon and ice is not trying to replace rory malley thank you
- 11:41
like that's the other thing people kind of got it twisted i guess it was such a sudden change and they just saw the visual of hey he's
- 11:48
in the stool and he's in rory's chair like that's not what it is either yeah no i'm i'm listen i ain't gonna be here
- 11:56
like every they all know i don't do podcasts i don't that's not my pretty good pocket and there's a reason why joe did not tell me what he needed
- 12:03
me for until we were in the car on the way here i believe that too no i know i know for a fact now now it makes sense
- 12:09
because he know if he didn't hit me and said yeah i need you to do the pocket i'm like uh listen bro listen sometimes you can't
- 12:14
tell your friends what you need them for i'm here to have honest friend talk today let's do it hey
- 12:20
sometimes you going to get your friends to take them back to the block because you got an issue with dude
- 12:26
you might not tell them all about dude resume he just ill just come
- 12:34
we gotta deal with the problem it's there yeah that's it so yeah no i appreciate that dang i
- 12:41
forgot where i was at within this whole pod story oh you all are not trying to replace them all right
- 12:46
no at all not even a little bit
- 12:51
what's the interesting thing about me and situations like this especially when
- 12:58
friendship is involved and i'm here for the friendship and business talk a truthful honest one by the way
- 13:08
sometimes in that everybody has to stay take a step back and go to their respective corners
- 13:15
and sometimes everyone's perspective on how to perspective and position on how to go
- 13:22
about that and how it should be executed is extremely different
- 13:28
um two things that's true in the world everyone has a different perspective one
- 13:35
and two everybody has to be responsible for where they get it from
- 13:41
it all comes from different places right with me i i am a swiss army knife
- 13:49
because i pull my information from many different places
- 13:56
that the average person just going about the daily course of life maybe would not
- 14:02
if you want to have a talk about escort rates i can look where you start
- 14:10
carry on i'm sorry it's important i know see i'm laughed at but it's something i take pride in
- 14:15
like i take pride in understanding that i've been in music on a major i've had
- 14:21
video games i didn't get paid for i've been part of a production company
- 14:26
uh i've had a hit single i've had a label expect me to keep the lights on
- 14:32
in the future i've had people press me for a second album when i was running around spending all my money from the
- 14:37
first album i've had business accountants that have robbed me i've had business accountants
- 14:42
that have tried to rob me i've been independent i've been in tv
- 14:48
i've been you name it radio i've been in radio i've experienced that i've been in a
- 14:54
group i've been by myself i've tried to be a youtube star at one point like my information comes
- 15:02
from just a plethora of places right so when joe talks
- 15:08
i don't really expect too many people to understand where i'm pulling [ __ ] from it don't make sense
- 15:15
yesterday i went to try to buy some uh try to buy some furniture i was looking for some chairs and [ __ ] for
- 15:20
yeah i mean you know yeah and i was getting in the car with ian and keith
- 15:25
day off right keebs getting in the driver's seat they both say where do you want to go
- 15:31
where you want to sit i say i'll take the back don't worry i don't have a gun on me
- 15:38
they did what you just did yeah they both laughed and i laughed too i'm just like because
- 15:44
we just had that conversation uh i just asked them when we got another one for totally different reasons
- 15:50
they laughed because that's laughable of course you don't have a gun in the car joe
- 15:56
i laughed because i've been in that very situation where i was in a contract right with someone
- 16:02
who said where do you want to sit you sit in the front don't worry i don't have a gun on me and there was somebody that might have had a gun on him
- 16:10
that's why i laughed our perspectives come just from different places man
- 16:17
sure i agree with that just from different places let me address some of the fans concerns
- 16:23
and let me speak for myself right because what i'm learning as i go about this
- 16:28
podcast network business is as i continue to ascend
- 16:34
and as we continue to ascend as savon has expressed to me on different occasions
- 16:39
it's harder for people to talk to me could be no it's not could be stop with
- 16:46
this stop with this trolling could be no i deal in certainty
- 16:51
and facts it's not could be people are having a difficult time
- 16:57
speaking to joe about things that's my reality no one else's
- 17:03
and that doesn't mean anything until it does until you start hearing whispers in the street
- 17:10
till you start hearing rumors from places that shouldn't have any rumors
- 17:16
and even that don't mean nothing if you don't put any stock into that those type of things because i don't but that don't mean that other
- 17:24
people are not we all got eyes and ears
- 17:29
well just that fast you've thrust me into a unique situation which i sit because i
- 17:35
have to understand everyone's perspective but damn hard being the boss huh
- 17:43
that sounds crazy that sounds crazy why because i'm not i'm not that's not this didn't start with visions of boss
- 17:51
and y'all know me so i don't run around saying things like that and then we in such a
- 17:57
for i don't take this platform for granted the audience for granted the fact that the audience travels with us for granted
- 18:03
like i appreciate all of those things that's why i appreciate the fact that this is with friends or what we assume to be
- 18:12
friends i have experience going out there and trying to get true value for something or going to work
- 18:18
with some people that i didn't necessarily enjoy or going to work and have to kick and knock down doors to get
- 18:24
information and then taking that to confirm it or or disprove it to see what's real and
- 18:30
what's not it's a constant ptsd that people have to deal with so that's not my position my position is the
- 18:35
opposite my position is because i'm a creator i always understand the position
- 18:43
but you're the boss now things have changed for you i'm sorry and that's evolution joe yeah that's a good evolution it's something
- 18:52
that you have to uh learn to deal with uh both internally and externally
- 19:00
okay that's great but that's still not joe's position joe's position is
- 19:07
boy i know how [ __ ] feels i know how it feels from every corner of the club i know how
- 19:14
it feels and i'm not speaking about uh maul and rory specifically now we're just kind of talking yeah okay but i know how it feels
- 19:20
to not be searching for something and find something that you maybe didn't know existed and like
- 19:27
how to respond to that people always call joe a lunatic because i come on here and i look like a lunatic
- 19:34
because there's a lot of behind the scenes things that occur and then i look [ __ ] nuts but i mean when you get into the
- 19:41
the crux of it when i screamed on complex in here i had a baby on the way
- 19:47
i had a kid coming my thoughts were not just related to what was happening at
- 19:52
work it was oh [ __ ] might have to piece this together
- 19:58
how am i piecing this together how am i paying these bills how am i buying diapers how my x y z like the way that i got a deduce might
- 20:06
be different it ain't just a work thing right so when you're feeling
- 20:11
things for me you know what's a courtesy you know what would be nice for my employer to care or my not my
- 20:18
employer my place of work for to care when i had all of my issues
- 20:23
with complex i was looking for them to care because i thought it was valuable
- 20:32
that's a courtesy that wasn't extended they said hey you having a baby thank you for your
- 20:38
time joe's out here i was home surprised that was a courtesy that just wasn't
- 20:45
extended cool spotify you come in here you beef with
- 20:50
them they got what they people put a little press clip out they said hey man we offered him something
- 20:56
significant it didn't work out man wish you the best thanks for your time
- 21:01
because it's just business to them that's how it goes so that's my reaction when i see the
- 21:07
fans attempt to split up something that was built so carefully over the years
- 21:13
right there's a parks high yeah there's a rory hive there's a mall hive
- 21:20
there might be a tiny say vaughn i think there's an alex high too i got a little something you know
- 21:27
you don't want to cause confusion and division amongst the hives even with [ __ ]
- 21:35
so i mean so i mean the best thing you could do is what i wished would have been
- 21:42
uh uh granted for me when i was going through it is to just give time time give everybody
- 21:49
time to chill get back to their respective corners figure out what they want to do how they
- 21:56
want to go about doing it but truth be told and i said this in many of joe verses
- 22:02
none of us are slaves to the audience none of us owe anybody else
- 22:09
anything no one owes anybody anything like everybody has a choice
- 22:16
in different matters and some of us have to be responsible
- 22:21
for that back to my unique position let me tell you a little bit about my guys who i love and i miss a little bit
- 22:28
uh and i felt safe saying this about maul before i spoke to more and i did
- 22:33
speak to him more doesn't give a [ __ ] about
- 22:38
podcasting like is that a shock to anybody morris not a podcaster he doesn't care about podcasting
- 22:44
he doesn't care about any of this [ __ ] that comes along with podcasting maul is a man of principle yeah that
- 22:50
part's fair i don't know if i would say he doesn't care about podcasts i think he cares about this podcast for sure well he devoted his time to it
- 22:57
yeah maybe not podcasting as a whole yeah but he cares about this podcast and what comes
- 23:04
with it let me tell you that much is for sure
- 23:09
now let's get back into uncomfortable conversations okay
- 23:14
people thought i was nuts when i wanted to leave slaughterhouse it's not that i didn't care about slaughterhouse well i didn't care about
- 23:21
rap or i didn't care about the group i didn't care enough to stay around and
- 23:27
continue to deal with some of the stuff that was going on so that's what i mean when i say more don't care about podcasts it's
- 23:33
mall's moral compass it isn't the toughest to digest it's hey is it fly or is it not
- 23:41
simple as that yeah yeah y'all been listening to them all enough over the years to know that that is his position i
- 23:47
would assume especially tomorrow so mom bump into something on this podcast that he think
- 23:53
ain't fly guess what hey you can hear that i can't speak for rory's pieces i don't
- 23:59
know even though i have spoke to roy you got to say this they be ready to
- 24:05
attack yeah um i can't speak for that but
- 24:10
as someone that's been on the other side of all of this i feel him i feel him
- 24:19
when [ __ ] got to get right it got to get right when i was 35 years old not story time but i was trying to
- 24:25
picture how [ __ ] would look in my 40s and when i did a gut check a self a reflection check
- 24:31
what i learned was my credit was bad my license was suspended my name was bad
- 24:38
my my reputation was bad and just so many things were bad and if i didn't if i didn't want things
- 24:44
to continue this way i would have to make some serious changes
- 24:50
and then that's what happened you you make the necessary changes that you see fit
- 24:56
but even in friendship back to friendship and business in those relationships
- 25:03
you still got to do a check every every few years to make sure you're getting what you need from the relationship
- 25:08
yeah that's with everything relationships business relationships friendships family relationships
- 25:16
yeah yeah hey sometimes you outgrow things you outgrow people hey maybe some
- 25:22
of the things that i wanted and that was suitable for me a few years ago are no
- 25:28
longer suitable but whose job is it to share that yours
- 25:36
and everyone is entitled to that i don't joke when i come on here at the end of the pod and say your life is a series of
- 25:41
moments and moments pass i'm not in here just saying things that's wrong
- 25:47
this has been a beautiful moment if anything we've made if the run is over we made podcast
- 25:52
history absolutely two times over two times over yeah
- 25:59
for sure that's something to celebrate if the run is over if you're asking me i
- 26:04
don't think the run is over i don't think so i think everybody's going to get right yes in the friendship
- 26:11
in the business and then i think we all reconvene and come back here with some
- 26:16
of the same information these brothers are not here so i can only speak for myself what's been happening for me
- 26:23
is i've been sitting here growing a resentment toward my friends
- 26:29
i've been taking some of the yo is a tremendous weight that comes with
- 26:36
running the business and his bills and you fighting companies and corporations and dsps and talent it's talent personality
- 26:43
management with this network [ __ ] that's a lot it's a lot going on
- 26:52
and when you look to your friends for help they can only really help you if they
- 26:57
know what's going on um and it becomes difficult if a lot of your friends are
- 27:02
in the pool one pool or another talent or business or whatever it gets complicated
- 27:10
because they have to protect their business self and be a good friend at the same time
- 27:16
how do you do that um i'll i'll quote rory on this
- 27:23
even though i don't necessarily take the same approach um through lawyers and management and and
- 27:29
or third party in some some manner like mediation type of things some type of mediation
- 27:35
uh i don't i don't i've been doing business with you joe budden for a very long time whether it's podcasting whether it's music
- 27:41
whether it's touring which to me is a separate business i don't come to you with business [ __ ]
- 27:46
because we have to keep a good idea of doing things we have to we have to we have to do things
- 27:53
and you have professionals in place i handle my own business so i don't have a manager to handle that stuff but
- 28:00
i'm okay with that i'm not saying that's the best option for everybody for me it has worked pretty well in my career but
- 28:07
other people should probably have someone else talk to you or someone else you're professionals
- 28:14
and it but i want to broaden this that's in any field that's not here yeah in any field you should have your
- 28:21
people that you trust that protect you that are invested in you y'all should
- 28:27
think tank yeah y'all should plan you all should figure out different ways to strategize and
- 28:34
execute things right that's not just specific to uh it's more specific to entertainment
- 28:40
business it's tougher in podcasting parks i would believe because podcasting is such a new thing that's
- 28:47
who it's such a new business it's such a new phenomenon and we're still at the precipice of it
- 28:52
i think there's probably still professionals lawyers managers or whatever that say
- 28:58
what you get paid to sit around and talk like i don't really understand this well yeah that's the thing is it intellectual property is it what is it
- 29:05
well and that's back to my my unique position today listen i told dudes in 2021
- 29:13
i was going hard because i'm taking out everything 2020 did uh on
- 29:20
did to us i'm taking it out on 2021. so it's a good approach i'm going all
- 29:26
the way hard right in that one i can no longer assume that everything is known amongst
- 29:33
everyone and two i found i keep finding myself in a position that i'm educating people
- 29:38
on things that they may not be educated about and they're using those things against me
- 29:44
at some point in the future okay not saying rory mall please don't speculate
- 29:49
those are my guys we open this up yeah but period so now when you make the republican joe
- 29:55
jokes well yeah it's kind of funny and it's appropriate because i mean now i got to understand the other side
- 30:02
of the coin yeah but i bumped into that that was a mistake
- 30:08
i'm being clear with y'all because my dad always told me you could play the hand upside down
- 30:14
it's gonna play the same way you can see the cards my plan is the same you try to stop it now and that's my
- 30:20
problem i now under i kind of have somewhat of an understanding of the corporation's position when joe
- 30:27
starts acting like a lunatic and that's gonna be hard it's gotta be hard as someone who has been
- 30:33
against the machine the whole time to now be the machine right it ain't it's so much easier because
- 30:39
i've been on the other side yo these seat that's mall seat and that's rory's seat
- 30:45
whenever they pass that's still they see whenever it work out yeah whenever the feelings because
- 30:50
they're fickle go by and you kick it feelings are fickle they're not ethical
- 30:56
no feelings yeah i just wanted to clarify feelings are fickle so when they go by
- 31:01
do you see to be here it's time for me to go call star and put him there and call wayne oh and
- 31:07
put him there and [ __ ] call anybody else and put him there yeah it's [ __ ] that that's going on yeah i get it you're extending
- 31:13
like you said when you were going through your the issues with com complex how they were like all right
- 31:19
[ __ ] it joe out of here you're not saying that you don't i would never say that no i know you wouldn't i'm talking i wouldn't know
- 31:25
listen now you can never say that you're saying that listen whatever's happening is happening but when this blows over
- 31:31
these seats are right here they ain't going nowhere yeah you gotta say that but i mean does it
- 31:37
come with some uh does it come with some uh caution because you've been that guy
- 31:46
like you know all that's at risk and all that's at stake
- 31:51
when these things occur yeah but it's your job to balance it i called you now it is i called you i
- 31:58
called save on i called rory i called maul i called i called everybody i think i needed to
- 32:05
call but i mean it's a real simple fight listen i don't even want to scare the audience
- 32:10
it's a real simple fight there's nothing going on it's not even a fight not really it's not a money thing it's a
- 32:15
miscommunications can be a money thing it's too much money to go around correct miscommunication it's too much money to go around and never be a money thing
- 32:22
it won't never be that with me right it's a pure miscommunication
- 32:29
misunderstanding lack of information to gain a proper understanding and it's ptsd and uh
- 32:35
paranoia uh as it relates to you know we've all heard the horror
- 32:40
stories of [ __ ] business from your mouth directly if nowhere else um so people have
- 32:46
fears that there's [ __ ] happening maybe or un unclear if there's [ __ ] happening i
- 32:52
wouldn't be able to sleep at night if i turned into that guy i know and i would hope that i have people around me that
- 32:58
if for some strange reason i started turning into that guy they would check me yeah but anybody
- 33:04
that's confused absolutely that's why cory's with me yeah i don't talk to him
- 33:11
we don't speak he managed me we didn't speak we lived together we didn't speak today
- 33:17
we speak a lot more but that's uncomfortable for him hey but he's with me
- 33:26
because he has a day one perspective when i came to him and music wasn't
- 33:31
really turning out right and i'm like yo dawg i'm gonna talk to marissa i'm gonna start a pod we're gonna get to talking
- 33:38
you go call fanduel or somebody i don't [ __ ] know when no money was coming in at episode
- 33:44
90 i came to corey and i said yo dogs i don't know what the [ __ ] you got planned
- 33:51
but i am not going to continue doing this but no money yeah what an idiot right
- 34:00
but when you listen to it for no money for another two years
- 34:11
right there we found an issue i know everybody's laughing and joking we just unlocked a bevy of issues
- 34:19
whoa some work that maybe we didn't know would work and now we got to figure out
- 34:25
how it works well that's probably the other another big part of it is again podcasting is a
- 34:31
new space we're all kind of figuring this [ __ ] out what's it worth what's it cost that too what's
- 34:37
it worth and what does it cost that too yeah see now back to where you get your perspective from
- 34:43
again i've been the guy listen cory booked a whole tour one time right
- 34:50
hey the court tori booked the cory booked the whole tour one time and i asked him to only show me the
- 34:56
final number of what we would make after the 13 shows 14 shows and he showed me the number
- 35:02
and it looked low to me still now i didn't do the gut check at the time
- 35:07
that my profile may have been lower than ever and my labels participation may have
- 35:12
been lower than ever but this is the number and this is the tour you know what i did
- 35:18
i went behind this nigga's back and called every manager i know
- 35:23
blue williams kevin lyles you name it yo dawg
- 35:31
is he supposed to take his 20 whatever percent from my number or the total number
- 35:41
they all laughed me out the [ __ ] off the phone see dawg that's the problem that
- 35:46
managers bump into you get a little money and now you don't want to pay nobody yes
- 35:51
joe that happens this is how managers get paid even not all for what you make that happens
- 35:57
for everybody or for the total of what it costs hey guess what it's somebody that has done business with managers that didn't work managers
- 36:04
that were trying to make it work and looking for a manager that could make it work right
- 36:09
ta-da that's the job that's the part [ __ ] is tough yeah but when you bump
- 36:16
into it when you meet the guy who can funnel it
- 36:22
in any manager will tell you twenty percent of something that's bringing something
- 36:27
in is a lot more than forty percent of something that's bringing in zero correct
- 36:33
correct we gotta i gotta i had to learn that that's what i'm saying yeah so now when i bump into capable
- 36:40
people what is value i don't mind paying them what is value because if you can create the value
- 36:49
you should get some of it right that's what rory does that's what maul does that's what i do that's what you do
- 36:54
that's what n does say bond that's what we all we all create the value the problem that
- 37:00
creators run into along the way is we never get our fair share of the pie
- 37:05
so what we start doing is trying to cut out the pie yeah where we can yeah
- 37:12
the problem when everything works is what you guessed it ain't but so much
- 37:19
cutting of the pie you can do it's working now you can see it people visibly see it
- 37:25
remember i came on here i was mad that erickson had to get a raise be clear it wasn't the biggest raise in
- 37:30
the world but it had to happen right he sold 10 more raises
- 37:37
for anybody else to get paid that's a fact i can't keep assuming that everybody knows that [ __ ] alex you get a raise y'all make
- 37:44
me go look at [ __ ] now i'm looking at what alex make that's what joe always said yeah
- 37:51
cause i've been on the other side you have experience playing with numbers seeing what it is i
- 37:57
ain't going to work for that i don't give a [ __ ] what you talking about oh wait good luck with that song
- 38:04
buddy but yeah that's the position you find yourself in and all right let's real talk real quick
- 38:11
this may be 15 percent of podcasters that get paid 10. i'm being generous maybe 10. i'm
- 38:17
being generous at 15 yeah very very yeah very generous
- 38:23
give them the perspective of how many podcasts there are out there we can google it's probably 3 000 born a
- 38:29
day now like the number continues to increase but that's why the percentage is so low because the podcast that make it make it
- 38:35
in the podcast that don't don't and believe me to the trained eye you can tell what podcasts are making money on which podcast or not yeah sure right
- 38:42
absolutely look at this there are currently 850 000 active podcasts
- 38:47
and over 30 million podcast episodes more than half of all u.s consumers
- 38:53
above the age of 12 listen to podcasts okay that's all you
- 38:58
need to know that's crazy got it granted hey let's step even further than that because there's people
- 39:04
running around putting mud on my name not rory and maul don't y'all think that i would never use
- 39:09
the platform that they helped to build to say a negative utterance about them
- 39:14
it's not who joe is in friendship you might get lost you
- 39:20
might lose sight of who people are especially when friendship and business meet
- 39:25
at this level yeah yeah touring with your friends yeah hey here's a fun fact that joe
- 39:32
knows that i assume other people know but i will no
- 39:37
longer assume this we've won awards
- 39:43
we've been ranked number one we've been ranked number two we've been ranked 11. we're currently
- 39:48
ranked 31 whatever the ranking is who cares i know what rankings mean it's like a grammy
- 39:54
uh this podcast holds four expensive seats
- 40:03
no think about it just chill out just chill out let it let the room breathe let the room breathe let it breathe let
- 40:09
it breathe get some air for a drink do with that what you want i can't be responsible for how everyone
- 40:16
disseminates that process is that information
- 40:21
are you kidding me a show that almost four people to take up like that nbc would never
- 40:28
they wouldn't the talk the view the real the this the that the third
- 40:36
[ __ ] we got the bag for one one person one person only there's a lot of [ __ ] yeah for four
- 40:44
people i like it like that i can't i can't lessen anybody's contribution
- 40:50
that's four people to make the job or shouldn't make the job that much easier mm-hmm and now we gotta add erickson
- 40:56
now we gotta add savon now we gotta add alex now we gotta add digital media people
- 41:01
digital marketing you gotta add lawyers you gotta add accountants gotta add the touring people
- 41:08
insurance gotta add the insurance the server costs because our sound is so pristine because you
- 41:15
refuse to compress the [ __ ] so that we pay less money like those things those simple questions
- 41:22
like why that [ __ ] sounds so good joe no cost you know what it costs joe knows exactly why that sounds so
- 41:29
good and i know why they're not doing it
- 41:34
i've spent a lot of time who the [ __ ] would want to carry that cost i would never
- 41:41
but that's where creators always need help we create things out of nothing but we
- 41:46
always need somebody that will come and help us build a business out of it johnny and i had that discussion years
- 41:52
ago right when he came up with this new way to package dog food it was brilliant and genius and
- 41:59
something that i thought should have been handled long ago just in thought right couldn't get he
- 42:05
couldn't get it off the ground it was the best idea in the world he couldn't get off the ground and then he came to me and said well who's more
- 42:11
valuable the person that creates the idea the person that can get it off the ground and i said oh that's yeah hey
- 42:20
now you got to talk buddy man i read an article about uh influencers uh getting underpaid um
- 42:27
based on on race for the most part um oh it's bad it's bad it's bad but you know the the
- 42:33
men and women that are creating the dance are often people of color and then the people that are disseminating the dance and making it pop
- 42:39
are white people that are getting paid a billion times more which is completely [ __ ] up and unfair
- 42:44
uh i was talking to somebody about two weeks ago about the mlc mlc.com yeah i'm not sure about that one
- 42:54
mlc.com right and i'm freestyling here
- 43:00
what the hell is this that's not it ain't that it ain't that i'll find out what it is
- 43:06
so don't quote me but whatever this is i'm talking about
- 43:11
is a company that focuses on all of the streaming revenue that does
- 43:18
not count towards artists contracts oh yeah i know exactly it's um i think i think it is mechanical
- 43:24
licensing yeah yeah yeah that's it yeah the second one right there mechanical licensing collective so
- 43:30
to the contracts that streaming had nothing to do with that have been collecting royalties and
- 43:37
payments on streaming and for all of the artists worldwide who have never audited that money is too
- 43:45
much and it's just sitting somewhere yeah and it's too much to even be accounted for
- 43:50
so now there's this where you can start to get into some of those things and they divvy it up if you're old to
- 43:57
check somewhere they get it to you i could probably make a phone call right now mechanical licensing is one of the
- 44:02
there's i can't remember the other example there's only a few examples of jobs that are actually like uh
- 44:08
in the [ __ ] uh it's it's by law you have to get paid
- 44:14
mechanical licenses is one of them it's a guaranteed payment regardless of what the record sells you
- 44:19
got to give me my 0.9 percent off of what though like off of what number would it be do some research because i'm not going
- 44:25
to remember anything i don't want to disseminate all right it don't matter the long and short of it
- 44:31
is all of the money that should be allocated somewhere that artists are not claiming
- 44:37
is sitting in a fund somewhere just growing and collecting interest and not being paid out to
- 44:43
anybody that's what's happening right joe's
- 44:48
belief is that the industry probably has a class action lawsuit headed their way in
- 44:55
the next 10 years they should people like me and parks are going to get together and say wait a minute
- 45:01
i put out 30 albums i never got no gut and i didn't collect i didn't collect on
- 45:06
a lot of it yeah that stuff is still out there see that's what i'm saying if you could
- 45:12
read the tea leaves then you could read the tea leaves and if you can't then you can't but if you can't i'm done explaining it
- 45:18
to people if you don't understand how valuable ownership is and why it's valuable i can't explain it to you
- 45:24
if you don't see all the different avenues in which you can collect if you don't see all the different ways
- 45:31
that the economy is changing before our eyes i can can't continue to explain it to
- 45:36
you but just know that the current spirit of deals is what's going to continue to exist and evolve
- 45:43
that swiss deal with timberland where they sold some [ __ ] and then gave everybody rights
- 45:48
right gave everybody equity that's the spirit of a deal that's the reincarnation of what hove tried to do
- 45:54
with title uh over there when they did that really bad announcement that went out but that was the spirit of what he was
- 46:02
trying to do in 2021 i'm clearing energy
- 46:08
i need people around that get it this is not to worry more i don't know i need people
- 46:15
yeah in general as somebody that's building the network right because building a network is what the tea leaves led me to
- 46:21
i wasn't making an album with arabs saying let me build a network right i hate when you get on this by the
- 46:28
way but i wanted to spell some of that is uh he's got a couple youtube shows and that's a network i mean that's how you
- 46:34
start a network you know it's 2021 but funny thing about network is the reason i started my podcast that i
- 46:41
hated joe called and said yo listen i want to build a podcast network
- 46:47
i want you to start one name somebody else you to start one you to start one if y'all can pull in these amount of
- 46:53
views a week we're gonna come together and it's going to be under a network like so he had the network idea
- 47:00
years ago yes and the idea of my network is we're not going to take it right
- 47:07
no we ain't going to take it done differently it's the whole premise of yo
- 47:14
we're gonna get a bunch of people that understand get it and won't take no for an answer everybody
- 47:19
will build their individual asset in a few years we'll all come together and see what those numbers are worth
- 47:25
collectively i see what our numbers are worth as one individual podcast
- 47:30
and no they haven't been enough to garner us what we want because they're still trying to include all of our rights i think that story
- 47:37
looks different if you have five six seven eight nine ten podcasts
- 47:42
that are performing well right i play this hand upside down you can see the play that's my that's joe's play
- 47:48
hello performing well is relative by the way to the to the the naysayers profitable yes profitable hey you make it you own a
- 47:56
percentage of it you profit all the way that's it the contract is legible readable understandable there's no
- 48:03
tricks everybody get together do what they got to do and let's fight the system the correct way
- 48:09
but if one person even one person don't get that or understand it or
- 48:14
see the plan then it don't work correct and for me podcasting is a long game it is it's not
- 48:20
a short game so is music for the for what it's worth no i disagree with that you can hit a short licking music and be
- 48:26
gone and be done you cannot want nothing else to do with it i got my lick publishing forever that's it certain certain uh styles of music it's
- 48:33
a long game let me let me rephrase that but the problem in the music business today is the barrier for entry is really low
- 48:41
you don't have to love it you don't have to be good at it you don't have to anything you just have
- 48:47
to be profitable and in podcasting it's the same but it's a little different they're snatching all these celebrities trying
- 48:53
to make them podcasters they're not podcasters yeah correct they're celebrities correct the
- 48:58
celebrities are coming in and they're skewing the market they're taking lower because it's probably less work
- 49:04
who knows but they're [ __ ] it up for the everyday joe out there
- 49:10
i used to say that and sound nuts it was a joke on this podcast me clowning will smith for like seven months
- 49:16
but i was just angry will smith you're too big of a superstar to come over here finagling around i'm trying to get 100
- 49:22
million out here you have several of those i know
- 49:28
that's the same thing that happens with djing and music in general though when uh when a tv show celebrity or something gets into
- 49:35
djing and they're not doing anything they have a playlist already set up maybe even with transitions and scratches that someone else did and
- 49:41
there's hit and play anyway i digress don't digress i love this hey even deeper than that this would
- 49:49
this was joe's problem i hate when i speak in third person but this was my problem when not problem but a problem that i
- 49:55
saw coming when all of the fine girls started taking the shorts
- 50:01
to do hostings [Music] joe was on the edge of his seat
- 50:09
in a panic my little three thousand thirty five hundred dollar hosting paid the bills for a month
- 50:15
if you could go get the fine girl to come do it for [ __ ] five grand
- 50:21
three grand whatever oh it's skewing the whole market and hey i got to go do something yeah
- 50:27
it's the only fans fight with bella thorne it's it's it's spotify and everybody
- 50:33
else's fight with apple hey man why i get to take 30 of our [ __ ] i know what 30 percent is i
- 50:40
need that apple's like fam with it community we're we're we are we're we are the
- 50:46
economy we created this this is the price
- 50:57
listen man i don't want to be on an hour-long ramp we're out of hour now i miss the guys i love the guys and
- 51:04
hopefully the fans will allow time for whatever is happening to actually happen
- 51:11
like we're friends at the end of the day yeah and that's where the that's where the issue lie oh that's what i was doing i was trying
- 51:16
to give the fans some of the issue because i'm leaning into transparency let me give them a little bit and give a little dose
- 51:22
let me get a little look i'm nervous they don't know where i'm going but they nervous they don't know where this is
- 51:27
headed i've been wearing all black don't do that i've been wearing all black i've
- 51:33
seen the energy listen man i don't can't speak for nobody else
- 51:38
when i when i when we record a pod i go home and i listen to it and i watch
- 51:45
at least 90 minutes of it of every pod
- 51:51
now i learned long ago you can't crucify people for not being built like you if i
- 51:56
didn't know that put your tea set right here not right here pusha t said it when we interviewed him yo man i can't expect
- 52:03
everybody to be built like me we come from different different uh places i am a
- 52:10
lunatic with this stuff i obsess over it i stare at numbers i get
- 52:16
a calculator i'm a dropout this is where i get to play with numbers i almost laugh at old joe
- 52:23
who said hey i don't care about numbers well [ __ ] you better
- 52:28
numbers man right here hey by the time i was saying i don't care about numbers the artists were using advanced
- 52:35
analytics to figure out the cities they should tour in yeah right based off the numbers
- 52:41
know what i was doing yo they [ __ ] with me in connecticut yo in boston they give it up they give
- 52:49
it up when i hit the middle east virginia should come out ooh virginia
- 52:55
beach these new [ __ ] run around with math and science meanwhile milwaukee was just waiting for us oh
- 53:01
come on pittsburgh never showing up yo
- 53:07
i don't remember what i was saying but at some point analytics and numbers and all that you're getting the transparency of why
- 53:14
rory and well i haven't been with us oh yeah yeah so listen man i'm watching every episode i'm listening to every episode
- 53:21
for the past six weeks i gotta be honest
- 53:28
it's been rough hey and it may have been rough even
- 53:34
before that but this is only my brain they're not here so i'm just it's been
- 53:39
hard it's my tension you speak to it there what the [ __ ] i keep talking about
- 53:45
you've been here visible and audible attention that some we we play around a lot we we joke on each other
- 53:51
we you know we clown you you know being depressed music and all that kind of [ __ ]
- 53:56
but you know behind that may have been some serious [ __ ] i gotta make a face because i love
- 54:02
documentation two years ago when i said a joke a joke ain't a joke if we never get serious that's the [ __ ] i was talking
- 54:07
about that words have meaning
- 54:13
and power sure energy yeah it traveled if we gonna do that in here
- 54:20
transfers hey guys this outfit has grown way
- 54:26
bigger than sit here and joke on joe well we still got custom jokes
- 54:36
man
- 54:42
at some point you saying six weeks ago or two three months ago the fans started to
- 54:47
notice they did come on man come on and we coming in here with larp
- 54:56
i learned that word on some that phrase on some doc i watch we coming in here with live action role
- 55:02
play aha that was the was it the q and on doc yes
- 55:09
i learned that one too it was the cube nerds it was the nerds you didn't watch the q
- 55:14
a no i didn't watch the kids those racist [ __ ] they hate us
- 55:24
but i'm watching that and i heard that term live action role play and i said thing
- 55:30
that's what no it's not my bad you move that microwave
- 55:38
for the last however long i feel like that's what we've been coming in here doing which is live action role play by now
- 55:46
people know who maul is or soon to know who he is they assume they know who i am they are soon to know who rory is and we
- 55:51
come in here and we act under the guise of friendship but for us to be friends you got to continue to do things to maintain the friendship
- 55:57
i agree so at some point if we stop talking if we don't talk at all because me and
- 56:04
moan maybe don't talk but well that's not true we talk but when the business talks start to outweigh the friendship talks there's a
- 56:11
problem and that's where we've been for the last because it's successful
- 56:17
everyone's busy everyone's busy you go about your life you doing [ __ ] you get into your interests and your passions
- 56:23
you want to get away from work you know yeah but when your friends become work no doubt it's that's no just okay this i
- 56:30
mean i can't speak for y'all but this i don't i wouldn't i wouldn't see this as work a lot of people don't
- 56:36
but i understand again i don't put it in this seat often but it is yeah but it is i looked rory
- 56:42
in the eye and i said yo and this has nothing to do podcasting i see you i have no idea what's going on
- 56:48
with you in your house your relationship status i don't know anything that's going on in your life
- 56:54
and he said well why do you have to i come up i come i show up i do my job
- 57:03
i perform then i go i understand that i get that if we
- 57:10
co-workers but no i understand that but no but no
- 57:15
it's a fine line that we tried here but no yeah i need to know what the [ __ ] is going on
- 57:20
with parks so i know how to handle parks so i know how to treat parks so i know how to view him
- 57:26
and so i know how to covet and protect him as a friend not to put me in a position where i'm
- 57:33
coming in here and i gotta tiptoe around parks who may or may may or may not be a
- 57:38
ticking [ __ ] time bomb three years ago we all sat here and gave
- 57:43
our assessment on who was a serial killer in the profile and who's not and y'all heard me i said rory's a serial killer
- 57:50
i said in my assessment in my profile i have rory as the one who will shoot any of us in the head if
- 57:57
his day gets a little bit too disgruntled you got to handle your friends with care
- 58:04
you got to have some type of profile on your people so you know what's going on with them that can't get lost in the fact that we come here and
- 58:10
show up and talk twice a week you can't i'm sorry at some point we got to get to the friendship
- 58:16
because that's where the business spawned from and it can't ever get reversed
- 58:22
it can't ever get to we're friends because there's business and speaking from my
- 58:29
perspective only and like i told them all i've made some mistakes i'm not perfect
- 58:34
but when i see that happening i intervene i can't allow it i gotta get on top of
- 58:39
that so when six weeks in a row happen of rory challenging me to a fight in his
- 58:44
hands and me not being so comfortable in that because i don't necessarily play like
- 58:51
that and i'm listening back and to me i'm being expressive saying yo man i don't play like that
- 58:57
with my friends and on the playback i hear him say yeah but what if we not friends whoa i
- 59:03
gotta take a look at that that's for joe to pause that ain't for
- 59:09
me to think that we in podcast showy chucky chucky kiki kaka
- 59:15
game time what if we not friends excuse me just gotta lean back
- 59:23
she's gotta lean back when that happens for however many weeks at some point you gotta intervene and
- 59:30
say all right maybe something is deeper go maybe something deep is going on maybe there's a reason that you feel
- 59:35
we're not friends or maybe there's a reason that he wants to fight him maybe there's a and this is just on a surface level here
- 59:41
right but when you notice that and you attempt to address it
- 59:48
things could get crazy i attempted to address it man i hate rory and say yo dawg do me a favor take a couple paws off
- 59:54
chill out sit on the side get yourself together gather your thoughts confer
- 1:00:00
with confer with your people just chill i'm hearing rumblings people
- 1:00:05
might be tired burnt out don't get division don't understand i don't know i don't know i don't know but whatever it is sit down
- 1:00:13
for a little bit get yourself together reconvene see if this is what you want to do
- 1:00:19
i thought that that was a good thing to do for a pleth a multitude of reasons
- 1:00:26
and i think rory felt like that was a good idea too i'm not speaking for him he's not here but i think he liked that idea i feel like he explained he maybe
- 1:00:33
didn't know what he was being okay with it all the reasons it was happening but i think he was you know i'm speechless they are bad
- 1:00:38
rory but i think rory watched it and he was a little perturbed with some things he saw too but that's not the end of the problem
- 1:00:44
when you're in the business of managing personalities because now when i see maul a man of
- 1:00:51
principle a man of honor maul's question
- 1:00:57
is an honorable one yo dawg what makes you think that you can tell
- 1:01:02
rory to not come in the [ __ ] pod for a little bit
- 1:01:10
why are you the person that can tell rory to sit home that's the talk me and maul
- 1:01:17
had and i gotta be honest it didn't go to
- 1:01:22
grace it did not it did not it did not didn't go yeah you have a you have a a really good
- 1:01:30
tendency of seeing uh an open wound and don't do that throwing an entire
- 1:01:35
can of salt on it out of defense no that's joe that's joe
- 1:01:41
he i don't know if that happened hey i'm not uh it did it did i was there
- 1:01:47
i was there i was there uh joe joe has a tendency and it is i think
- 1:01:52
it's a defense defense mechanism but that's just what you do you don't you don't mince words you
- 1:01:59
say what you feel and it might not be the best thing to say at that particular
- 1:02:04
time
- 1:02:14
what's your take on this what's your stance on this well i know i have a [ __ ] up viewpoint it's
- 1:02:23
[Music] we all have here and obviously
- 1:02:30
we know how joe communicates so i don't take any of it neither personal i don't take any of it
- 1:02:38
but you can't tell someone else to not but what i do know is that if we have over a
- 1:02:43
decade-long relationship business friendship listen me and joe have had crazy
- 1:02:50
conversations i'm sure me so so right on there sometimes right me and we have not had a crazy
- 1:02:56
conversation oh we had a little uh uh editing conversation on air that yeah
- 1:03:01
right we didn't do it on patreon patreon i don't remember that it was on the patreon yeah
- 1:03:07
yeah i was a part of fighting for race hey
- 1:03:13
i need a raise for parks that's that was the conversation you can go back and look but i always need a raise for parks
- 1:03:18
yo i don't think y'all understand i need a raise for everybody i need a raise for everybody that comes
- 1:03:25
in here and that has contributed and that's here for the long haul and help to build this thing and what it is
- 1:03:31
and to be clear again for those that are listening rory and maul's stance has not been
- 1:03:37
financial in their in their beef at least outwardly maybe there's some hints of
- 1:03:42
that in what their beef is who knows what their beef is they ain't a beef nobody's communicating to beef what they have
- 1:03:48
communicated is something is wrong it's a communication whether that be it's a friendship how we're handling
- 1:03:55
each other how we're caring for each other speaking to each other to respect level yo fan i've been in relationships where
- 1:04:02
i felt like the resp once once the respect level is gone
- 1:04:07
kaput yeah right once done so your view of that person or the situation is not the same it's
- 1:04:14
done i've been in relationships with you i'm the [ __ ] boss and i'm i'm the man everywhere i go
- 1:04:21
in my life except for when i get back home oh it's only you that views me as this
- 1:04:26
trash piece of [ __ ] scum that doesn't feel good i've been in relationships where
- 1:04:35
i was getting my feel good sources from outside of the relationship sure like all of this [ __ ] is like
- 1:04:41
relationship management and again you're men you're men you're not talking all the time
- 1:04:46
yeah men are men are bad communications man that's that's a deterrent
- 1:04:51
and then we just go all the time yeah we go we haven't really had a moment to do anything to really talk
- 1:04:57
on that aspect because the turnaround is so quick that's true too you know we came off the tour then we got hit with a pandemic and
- 1:05:03
now we're scrambling on how to give the best content from home while everybody else is down we still
- 1:05:08
going yeah and then we come back parks moves has been trent it's been a whole moving train that has not stopped
- 1:05:15
it's covered i get colby the network spotify it's a lot
- 1:05:27
a lot of room and holes for miscommunication but just not being on the same page collectively well this is why joe's
- 1:05:34
number one thing to start a podcast is friendship chemistry camaraderie because you're gonna go through some
- 1:05:40
things that if you're not cool with somebody
- 1:05:46
[ __ ] you [ __ ] you [ __ ] that's my that's my position on it
- 1:05:51
right well that's not true man listen i called more before this podcast
- 1:05:56
because i want to hear from maul and rory on the part i called up more i said listen duke if you never do this podcast again we
- 1:06:03
gotta talk hey let me get out of my stubborn [ __ ]
- 1:06:09
cause we both met a principal if this podcast shoot to [ __ ] [ __ ] these fans [ __ ] not [ __ ] y'all we love y'all
- 1:06:17
but it ain't about them we are friends we gotta talk yeah he totally agreed as
- 1:06:23
i assume a man of principal would mall's a reasonable ben as his word rory and i spoke listen allow time grace
- 1:06:30
let everybody go get together and figure that [ __ ] out but i just felt the fans were old in
- 1:06:36
explanation listen rory and maul they may have felt a way about something so they upped and
- 1:06:41
made a move i've been there before i'm i'm the guy to champion that i'm never gonna be against that even if
- 1:06:48
it's against me right uh like i pulled that move too many times
- 1:06:54
to not understand it i get it and grace should be allowed one two while i'm having transparent
- 1:07:01
conversation uh i'm certain that male ego is a
- 1:07:07
conversation piece in here somewhere oh yeah of course it's a room full of testosterone yeah
- 1:07:14
and i want to hear you talk about something i want to hear i'm done yeah i'm done you you're another day one
- 1:07:21
yeah yeah um yes you're here it's ego there's some of that involved for sure
- 1:07:27
um i can speak to the ego part listen
- 1:07:32
from joe's perspective only talking about ego not saying that ego is a problem but i think that men should be
- 1:07:38
able it sucks that i have to preface everything i say but male ego should be spoken about
- 1:07:44
let's deal let's deal with the dynamic that exists [Music] i'm a retired rapper these [ __ ] almost
- 1:07:51
forced me to reverse whom
- 1:08:05
paul rosenberg like i have my shots i have my shots that i want to take it's
- 1:08:11
some [ __ ] that you can't say uh in words that you could say in a rap that makes things okay
- 1:08:17
yeah that's true and joe has always ever just used rap to live and be expressive
- 1:08:23
all right if i wrote a rap right now i almost called you saturday
- 1:08:28
but i know the power that that wheel welds what's the word wheels you can't just get to talking and
- 1:08:36
talking until you can you can't do that man this [ __ ] is important but back to male ego everyone has negan i come from a
- 1:08:43
place where i am confident we're all confident
- 1:08:51
but why we're good at what we do well that's where you get into it that's where you're gonna do it tennis shit's
- 1:08:57
working i'm good at what i do that's right let me tell you something i think i was one of the best rappers to ever
- 1:09:03
grace a microphone ever i think you would have a hard time finding 100 rappers number three
- 1:09:11
they'll [ __ ] you up they i think you would find you would be hard-pressed to find a
- 1:09:17
hundred rappers that rap better than joe that's my own opinion
- 1:09:22
right but that don't mean nothing because we all mean nothing i'm not entitled to anything
- 1:09:27
if somebody wanted to make an argument against that they could they could you didn't sell records you
- 1:09:33
ain't got awards whatever you say i would understand it yeah but they
- 1:09:38
they dead at the vibe awards after i won it it's [ __ ] up so i understand it right however
- 1:09:46
my some of my confidence comes from i have successfully built like nine shows
- 1:09:53
hey if i'm over exaggerating let's say six
- 1:09:58
when i walk in certain places it's not because i was the best rapper
- 1:10:04
it's because i built the show at revolt and it changed the spirit of business at revolt as a whole
- 1:10:12
as a company i built everyday struggle with complex and it changed the spirit
- 1:10:18
of business i think these gentlemen think the same way the company i think these gentlemen
- 1:10:23
think the same well that's that's what i'm getting into yeah and and that's why you have to talk through ego
- 1:10:29
that's where a lot of joe ego come from my ego come from yo i'm done i build [ __ ] and it goes and it changes
- 1:10:36
business for companies right so when i walk in you will respect me
- 1:10:41
as such or i will leave some people take it as ego take it how you want cool it's knowing
- 1:10:48
you've known your worth i won't speak for more because he's not here but i can guess that more probably feels
- 1:10:54
like hey i hear you dogs
- 1:10:59
she wasn't like this before i got here yo that [ __ ] fly whatever you saying
- 1:11:06
but this [ __ ] wasn't so fly before i was here i remember what was going on before i got here he was here no
- 1:11:12
he has a right to uh voice that opinion and he's not wrong in that he's right yeah i get that yeah
- 1:11:20
i watched rory and his little friends make all y'all [ __ ] drink at one
- 1:11:26
o'clock in the afternoon good times what a talent what
- 1:11:32
a talent it doesn't matter i don't care if the barclays was the end
- 1:11:38
of the run but the fun times were in the beginning yeah if you don't know barclays was fun i don't even care if
- 1:11:46
the business don't work there the business might not work when you start doing numbers it might not be the most profitable thing i don't
- 1:11:52
know i wasn't involved but i know that helps create an ego sure absolutely right let's leave all
- 1:11:59
those three things there i'll pull from my experience when you
- 1:12:04
have a right to ego some people have ego and it's not warranted when you have a right to ego
- 1:12:12
you'll [ __ ] girls
- 1:12:18
i'm okay all right all right i'm trying to
- 1:12:31
women like ego maybe women like stability
- 1:12:36
women like comfort women like protection women like having their worries
- 1:12:42
alleviated so they can get into whatever their woman duties are whether that be their passions hobbies
- 1:12:47
domesticated [ __ ] women like when a man can provide and protect them
- 1:12:56
so women normally like do to have a reason to have some ego sure okay they don't realize that
- 1:13:05
adds to the ego you fine as hell
- 1:13:11
helps i assume assuming everyone is [ __ ] bad [ __ ] now
- 1:13:22
i know what it comes with i know how i feel when i walk in the strip club and my [ __ ] better than the [ __ ] there
- 1:13:40
what comes with that when the girl is bad and the business is right enough for
- 1:13:47
your ego to be in a place comes talking and whispers
- 1:13:53
comes admirers competitors and enemies coming to you saying oh no trying to get
- 1:13:58
like you i'm trying to be like you i know you got
- 1:14:04
him doors to different rooms start opening rory proposed at the rock nation brunch
- 1:14:12
i didn't i supposed at the beacon theater somewhere but even that is that's that's kind of like this i
- 1:14:18
proposed at the vegan theater in times square that's cute i proposed to the columbian restaurant in uh
- 1:14:25
elmhurst or something hey but that was fly to me it was fly to her most importantly i
- 1:14:31
proposed when i didn't think it would work when we had a season finale to film i proposed when i thought it would work
- 1:14:37
and maybe it wouldn't have worked at all if i was really looking at things where do you get your perspective from
- 1:14:44
i've gone to court for child support i've gone to court for uh allegations i've gone to court as a
- 1:14:52
defendant i've gone to court as a prosecutor i've gone to court for a civ court for a
- 1:14:58
civil suit i'm going to court seeking civil remedies i'm just saying yeah
- 1:15:06
on both sides yeah where do you pull your [ __ ] from i i i understand man i understand
- 1:15:13
uh is there anything that i'm missing in any of this ego stuff you get money you get girls you get
- 1:15:18
arrogant started certain [ __ ] is beneath you it's
- 1:15:25
unacceptable now things change friends change groups
- 1:15:30
change clubs change sceneries change everything changes access changes everything changes listen if i'm just
- 1:15:36
freestyling off the top of the head i don't know that mull and rory don't know that [ __ ] i'm not funding my
- 1:15:42
whole network based off their blood sweat and tears that's not something to get angry at
- 1:15:48
that's something to look at that's something to assess that's something to say whoa that's
- 1:15:54
valid i'm saying that as the guy who worked places and had to kick in
- 1:15:59
doors to get some information about what was going on oh [ __ ] that's what's happening over
- 1:16:05
there yeah man if i felt like somebody somewhere was funding a network off of my back and i'm not getting paid from
- 1:16:10
the network guess what buddy i'm coming in with an issue hey they keep seeing corey pop up
- 1:16:16
how do i know that they don't know that corey ain't on the payroll i don't know they might think cory can pay
- 1:16:21
i did huh i said i did i thought so for sure when i saw cory why um just because it changed he's
- 1:16:27
always been there even if he ain't there he's there well hey dylan here right now he's still there
- 1:16:33
like it's people around but that's where you start getting into the smack it's the the smack in the face of some
- 1:16:39
things like i know what's going on in the state of the country
- 1:16:44
i know what everyday americans are going through trying to feed their families i
- 1:16:50
know the work that has to be put in to receive certain benefits and accolades [ __ ] i know what these
- 1:16:57
companies are asking for when they offer all these millions they're asking for rights and joe's always just fighting
- 1:17:02
for right so i mean i have a clear understanding of what's going on
- 1:17:08
everybody and whatever their situation is has to have a clear understanding of
- 1:17:13
what's going on to lend their participation right correct period
- 1:17:19
the end nothing more to be said about it and that's where we land i gave you 90 minutes of what's going on
- 1:17:27
some of the more intricate details hopefully i didn't offend or disrespect anybody they say that's a thing with me
- 1:17:32
i don't know it didn't come across that way i think you did pretty pretty hopefully not listen man
- 1:17:38
all joe was ever saying is listen i want to compete number
- 1:17:43
and i want to compete with my friends i don't want to compete with people that's just willing to come in here
- 1:17:50
because this is a multi-million dollar business yeah i've never been definitely fun doing music or anything otherwise with
- 1:17:55
people that i'm not i don't [ __ ] with it's not fun why am i doing it i don't do that for that you celebrate
- 1:18:00
i do music because of anything i do it because of the uh personal interaction with me and the
- 1:18:06
people i work with and the same with podcasting well you celebrate with the people that were there when you never imagined
- 1:18:13
imagine things would be like this right and you celebrate with people that
- 1:18:18
you have a like-minded goal in mind with because you know all it takes to get to whatever that
- 1:18:24
goal is and this [ __ ] takes a lot man like i told you all these last few weeks i'm no longer coming in here trying to be
- 1:18:30
number one i'm trying to get it make sure everybody's okay i'm trying to make sure everybody's profitable valuable
- 1:18:38
and everybody has enough to feel good about what they're doing coming in here on a day to day and so you understand it understand it
- 1:18:46
don't just look at joe and say he's a lunatic like know what we up against know what
- 1:18:52
we fighting know what they're charging listen i've been home all weekend saying yo man do y'all think that i come in
- 1:18:58
here and scream at the dsps and youtube and everybody else and that stuff don't come with a cost
- 1:19:05
it comes at a price maybe a price that others are not willing to bear
- 1:19:10
or they're not aware of or then or they're not aware of but it comes at a price it's a price
- 1:19:17
that i willingly pay for like
- 1:19:22
i'm cool with that i had to come out of my pocket to pay spotify when we went on tour
- 1:19:29
think about it for a minute we went on uh i've been a little bit aware of that we went on a million
- 1:19:36
dollar tour if you add dates a multi-million dollar tour and because of whatever agreement
- 1:19:42
existed i had to pay a portion of it to spotify because they
- 1:19:47
thought that they played a part in why we were able to sell out toys
- 1:19:53
even though he was selling out towards prior to spotify yeah damn that don't matter guess what that's
- 1:19:59
cool that's the game that's the game the business game is wild listen i've done
- 1:20:05
love in hip-hop when my profile was all the way low and the business was bad i've done love and hip-hop when my
- 1:20:11
profile was all the way up and the business was great in both instances i went through some
- 1:20:17
[ __ ] when the business was bad and we wasn't getting paid i couldn't believe that i was doing burlington coat factory
- 1:20:23
commercials i didn't even know i could do that loving hip-hop said
- 1:20:29
we have the rights to everything and we put you where we want we own this we'll repurpose it hey when they started showing reunions every year like
- 1:20:35
embarrassing footage i was ashamed of i was like hey man stop that and they said no
- 1:20:43
they said look at the contract yeah we own all this we have the right to know what we want we're putting it out every year like
- 1:20:49
clockwork people watch this [ __ ] hey when my business was right and my
- 1:20:55
profile was right loving hip-hop called back like they've been calling back hey we want you and your partner i went
- 1:21:02
to my partner i said yo loving hip-hop won us for this number i think it's pennies and i think we could
- 1:21:07
do it ourselves and make money go get a deal we tv anywhere my partner said
- 1:21:13
ah that's not so appealing to me i don't want to do anything myself that system exists
- 1:21:20
we could be inserted there and be paid immediately well yeah we could but you giving up
- 1:21:27
blah blah blah boy does it come at a cost right i'm i can't be in a predicament where i'm
- 1:21:33
explaining that to anybody yeah not my significant other not my son's mothers not my parents
- 1:21:41
not the fans not the fans not my co-hosts not my co-workers
- 1:21:47
not managers not companies it's not if you go ask around joe draw a hard
- 1:21:52
line out there hey everybody want the podcast they'll say no
- 1:21:58
do your googles the word is out on how joe give it up
- 1:22:03
it's a lot it's a lot because i know what it takes for everybody involved to become millionaires
- 1:22:10
two times three times over it's expensive hey it's like that [ __ ] that russ and a
- 1:22:15
few other rappers brent fires few people put out what a million dollars looks like when you're a rapper
- 1:22:22
it's the very same thing do the math a million dollars you take away x you
- 1:22:27
take away x take away x you take away x it turns into 400 grand now you got to get a car and some jewelry and a
- 1:22:33
better crib and now you're left with 50 grand and now go instagram make it look good well we're done in
- 1:22:40
that we're not in that business yeah we're not in there we're not in the business of making things look good for the people
- 1:22:47
that don't mean anything to anything i come in here same watch
- 1:22:52
hey at the time that i fought for this watch and saved to buy this watch and had to get a proposal turned down to
- 1:22:59
take the ring money and go get this watch this was the watch i wanted right this
- 1:23:05
was the watch that i would might have been wearing the fake of this is the watch that of course fit cost fifty thousand dollars and
- 1:23:11
how on earth would i ever get fifty thousand dollars to pay for a watch
- 1:23:16
today i can go buy any watch but guess what my brain is so different today if anybody's
- 1:23:22
looking to see where joe's money is out there it's in the streets
- 1:23:28
if you're searching and you're confused if you think i'm broke if you think i'm rich what's he doing what's going on what's
- 1:23:34
the plan every dime of mine drug game y'all is back in the street
- 1:23:41
it's back in potting the [ __ ] is expensive mandy bridget [ __ ] karen [ __ ] stock over
- 1:23:48
here roy said whoever the [ __ ] we talking to potting is expensive no need for me to come in
- 1:23:54
here with a bunch of jewelry on right right the science behind it is same as drugs
- 1:24:01
famous drugs let's put me back in the hood back in the hood and i got the best
- 1:24:06
drugs on the block flip it off nobody in this whole hood has better
- 1:24:12
drugs than joe well what do you do when you get the top to the top of the food chain like if i
- 1:24:20
have the best drugs on the block and this is all the money that it's bringing to me then what the [ __ ] good just good does this do i have to find a way
- 1:24:26
to expand that's right you reinvest in yourself to experience that's why people get to stepping on drugs
- 1:24:35
joe always look at hey when people are at the top of the food chain what's happening just the way i'm sure podcasters are
- 1:24:41
looking at us they're the top of the food chain what's going on with them when i spoke to em we was on slaughterhouse i was miserable
- 1:24:46
talking to him he was at the top of the food chain let me get some information and talking to him that [ __ ] sounded miserable i tell that
- 1:24:52
story all the time you sell all the records in the world you're hostage in your house you can't go nowhere it costs 10 million dollars
- 1:24:59
to travel you don't know who to trust you don't have people you don't have [ __ ] you have nobody you can just rhyme words
- 1:25:06
i ain't working so hard to get to the top and that happened no no that's not going like that
- 1:25:13
so listen man allow grace allow space for our brothers who are not here who
- 1:25:20
will be here joe says maybe in a matter of a month
- 1:25:25
i think it'll take about a month for things to get right where they need to be
- 1:25:30
joe looks for the blessing and the optimism in things i think that when my brothers return
- 1:25:37
this thing will be better than it's ever been then i'm back to talking my [ __ ]
- 1:25:43
back to saying you podcasters have a problem i'm back to all of that but for right now it's about preserving
- 1:25:49
friendships not preserving business not
- 1:25:55
preserving podcasts not preserving audience it's making sure the people
- 1:26:02
that you built this thing with are okay and that they have enough
- 1:26:09
information and understanding enough and enough respect from you
- 1:26:15
to get some things to decide if they want to continue it's what women always say yo man if you
- 1:26:21
want to cheat if you want to [ __ ] girls go ahead and [ __ ] them but come give me the option and we always say
- 1:26:27
well what sense does that make why the hell will we do that right but
- 1:26:33
that's where we land man uh did i do a good job did i over share no you did great people feeling rory
- 1:26:41
maul we love you you know we love you guys man we are still my guys i am not trying to replace nobody
- 1:26:55
the show must go on is is there for a reason that's it we're going to still deliver
- 1:27:00
yeah because then if you don't put something yeah right imagine why y'all trying to figure this whole situation your stock drops and
- 1:27:06
it's just darkness right now y'all might get killed even more or you might lose the audience regardless because when you do this
- 1:27:12
at least like you said you give them the option well i had a few people saying saying and tweeting uh yo dawg if the
- 1:27:19
fellas take off do yourself a favor and take off too
- 1:27:25
just give us a break okay no you can't definitely do that it don't work like that that's not my position that's not where i stand
- 1:27:32
it's not what up there it has to continue now has to it will continue differently
- 1:27:39
and it would never be the same as when the guys were here but that's what makes it magical or are
- 1:27:45
here you know yeah but that's what makes it magic they'll be back yeah yeah uh but that's what makes it magic
- 1:27:52
when a certain collective of people can put something out that's just a
- 1:27:59
little different mm-hmm that's just a little different so listen as fans of the pods some of y'all are day ones y'all have to bear with it
- 1:28:05
being different until we allow our guys the time grace and space to get right get their
- 1:28:10
headspace right so they can come back in here and do what they do but until then stop hitting me asking me
- 1:28:16
what the [ __ ] mullen rory is they chilling studying a business go ask them where they at they'll tell you yo we chilling
- 1:28:23
everything is cool let us get it together the end what you think you're going to be in business with somebody for
- 1:28:29
six seven years and not go through this
- 1:28:37
that's it yeah man everybody chill out man got the squad nervous you all nervous
- 1:28:43
the girl's nervous man it's gonna be daddy's nervous it's gonna be a point where
- 1:28:49
all right y'all looking back on this and yo remember we had the [ __ ] let's go laugh over us yeah we're gonna
- 1:28:54
so this this tool going past fans y'all will be cool everybody's gonna be straight man
- 1:29:00
just give it get a fella some time that's it that's it now rayquan goes faces
- 1:29:12
right into the verses all right what we got rayquaza what was this uh saturday right
- 1:29:18
saturday night saturday night triller first the first one on on triller it was still on instagram too i
- 1:29:25
accidentally saw this on instagram part of it yeah i didn't even know it was happening
- 1:29:31
okay i don't want to hear dj i'm sorry dale y'all asked for what i'm
- 1:29:36
planning man let my guy parks get in this bag right quick this was the best version i've
- 1:29:42
ever seen in my entire life this [ __ ] this ain't that [ __ ] if i was watching this
- 1:29:47
bieber take that you had let's take this one out let naz get his [ __ ] off all right
- 1:29:53
hey hey salute to these guys though
- 1:30:01
this was the greatest verses i've ever seen in my life i believe my favorite rapper this [ __ ] was
- 1:30:10
culture to me because this is what i know i know this is this is you i thought
- 1:30:15
about i saw this i guess i even know what's happening yeah i accidentally i'm on instagram i said versus his life i clicked and i
- 1:30:21
seen these two i said oh okay parks and be clear i don't give a [ __ ] about the playlist really i mean i do
- 1:30:26
because i love all these songs for the most part right i don't give a [ __ ] about the battle aspect right i could sit and
- 1:30:32
listen to ghosts and ray talk [ __ ] over soul samples
- 1:30:37
okay for like six hours straight and not have no problem be good they were it's everything sounded like the interludes off purple tape
- 1:30:45
they were like holding two different conversations at the same time and it wasn't weird
- 1:30:50
that [ __ ] was incredible um record for record because it is a versus it is a versus so i want to ask you uh
- 1:30:56
who would you say won in the i'm my favorite rapper but it was close man
- 1:31:03
it was good it was cloak it was a lot i didn't i i didn't give her enough credit man i
- 1:31:08
did not give rayquan enough credit so you used just i thought ghost was just gonna smoke as well yes wufang this is your
- 1:31:14
[ __ ] but yeah you thought seeing the two of them that well ghost face has a way bigger solo discography way bigger and
- 1:31:20
way more like commercial success way more [ __ ] different he did r b records he did
- 1:31:26
grungy hip-hop records he did like kind of rock live things was he with like a rock some rock [ __ ]
- 1:31:34
damn i can't remember the name of the group right now i don't mean no disrespect to them but he did it like a whole band record so i was
- 1:31:40
i was like ghostway's got to win this you know rayquan has a couple solo albums maybe three or four
- 1:31:45
maybe five i don't wanna disrespect ray's solo catalog but ghost has like ten and he had major labels behind him
- 1:31:51
the whole time everything he's got neo records kanye records everything right so i thought ghost is gonna just run
- 1:31:58
away but it was it was pretty close for the most part man like from a battle perspective but that like
- 1:32:03
i said that was that was not even the the point the point was just seeing them sit there and kick it and
- 1:32:09
click all that kick all that fly [ __ ] that they kicked together
- 1:32:14
like he was in heaven [Laughter] but it wasn't even just me my girl was
- 1:32:20
26 years old she don't know [ __ ] about wu-tang she was in there like i like these guys
- 1:32:30
i like these guys they're fun because like even at the end when they started doing like these just playing classic
- 1:32:36
uh soul records you know whatever the old rappers are fun man they're fun like when they get past all
- 1:32:42
of the whatever we viewed them as the older rappers are fun it was good to see ray and ghost
- 1:32:47
at this age for me yeah well one thing about ray and ghost is they always maintain their they're cool
- 1:32:53
yeah like even now yeah you know they they they don't have sucker moments where they look crazy and you know these things look
- 1:33:00
like these bugging no no and i meant to say this last week
- 1:33:07
but i didn't because it was more pertinent things to get to but they so cool right
- 1:33:13
that when they try to create the moment to me it looks corny i don't think they tried to do that yeah
- 1:33:31
so it's hilarious i know that that's versus the told you i'll do that y'all are friends but when it comes off is
- 1:33:36
as what it comes off is is what it came off as which was ghost saying
- 1:33:42
yo you know i'm bringing my sharpest knife for you and then ghost said you know i mean race
- 1:33:48
i got something deadly for you when you do that like it was you don't love each other
- 1:33:56
you were in you were done i liked it you were playing slaughterhouse i was there in
- 1:34:02
those conversations i'm gonna take your head off on this [ __ ] like y'all did that [ __ ] so when they were describing that part
- 1:34:09
of the verses they're like yo we had nine mc's with us plus other people no no we were competitive you're
- 1:34:16
absolutely right but back to your slaughterhouse example yeah if if 30 years went by and then me
- 1:34:22
and royce got on the phone and did that i would expect the new kids to laugh at us a little bit or
- 1:34:27
or no i gotta disagree with them still coming to take a head off i don't care that we
- 1:34:32
[ __ ] brothers yeah we can't love each other yes right you never thought they were coming to take each other's heads off but they
- 1:34:38
were no they weren't yes they were oh please yes they were please they're competitive
- 1:34:46
i wasn't even scoring these verses neither i was what are you talking about oh shut
- 1:34:52
up they were not competitive they love each other no they were your brothers you can't be competitive with your brother
- 1:35:01
you can bring up whatever you want when when rey said when before ray played and carter special delivery
- 1:35:07
he comes right back with skewing on the barbie that's i'm trying to come right back at you that's not i'm gonna give you this one because special delivery is a classic
- 1:35:13
before ray played incarcerated scarfaces he said some [ __ ] like all right now i gotta destroy you with
- 1:35:19
this one he played mighty healthy which is a [ __ ] banger kanye said but mad people have sampled that record
- 1:35:25
[ __ ] action bronson got his whole style and the way he ad-libs from that record and then breaking back with incarcerated
- 1:35:31
scarfaces it's like this is a win for ghostface no question so i gotta comment on my strongholds
- 1:35:37
it's like [ __ ] i'm i'm trying to compete yes i'm trying to take your head off or else i go play some [ __ ] do you know
- 1:35:42
what incarcerated scarfaces is right that's my point
- 1:35:54
i've seen parks in a lot of different bags i have not seen parts this is why i'm happy to just see parks before yeah
- 1:36:02
all right parks won the versus all right let's just yeah it was for me when incarcerated
- 1:36:07
scarfaces came on ghostface said you got that walked back to his chair with his head soaked down
- 1:36:14
well yeah you look what can you do stop stop stop no no no no that's
- 1:36:20
incarcerated scarfaces done by my friend if that's not his
- 1:36:25
friend and incarcerated scarfaces come on we could we as viewers get to watch him have to deal
- 1:36:32
with that like like in the gucci jeezy battle yeah y'all not friends nothing to do you got to deal with this
- 1:36:38
song not violence not street stuff yeah you have to deal with this song i personally never got that from this
- 1:36:44
incarcerated scar faces what's that yeah there's ghost versus how do you take that i take it the same way ghost told me he would take it in
- 1:36:51
the preliminary which is go set yo when that come on
- 1:36:56
i gotta grab a casket like you get a body for that one that come on
- 1:37:02
they know what each other did that's better but it was fun to watch yeah it was fun
- 1:37:07
to watch what parks i'll ask you because you're championing this thing what did you think of the viewership i don't give a [ __ ] i don't know what
- 1:37:15
the numbers are because uh i don't know that people are running i i saw people saying you know it's only 100 000 people in here
- 1:37:20
i don't know how many people run to the instagram to watch that [ __ ] where you actually see the number and i don't know what the number on
- 1:37:25
triller is yeah and i will say that triller needs to step up their app game a little bit because i try to like watch it on tv i couldn't get it on tv i had
- 1:37:31
to watch it on the phone and stream it to the tv so there's no tv app there's no there is a trailer tv app
- 1:37:36
but i couldn't find the battle on the app oh okay and i wanted to this is actually
- 1:37:42
the first versus i'm gonna watch this again i will watch this again i was trying to watch it again what again the
- 1:37:47
battle again i'm gonna watch it i'm gonna watch that like weekly i think it was great in other words it's spark
- 1:37:54
[ __ ] [ __ ] i get it bro [ __ ] and i couldn't find it on the trailer and it should be there i think it's on the instagram but i don't
- 1:38:00
want to watch something trailer owns versus they don't care what you think should be there whatever i want i want to watch that i'm glad it was at
- 1:38:06
least on instagram too because i'm not shake that but
- 1:38:12
these two dudes got slaps yeah a lot of them they got slapped together and they got a lot of slaps together
- 1:38:17
yeah and they because again me not watching it so i'm ask you did they do like they're together records together
- 1:38:23
yeah okay yeah they did the jody record you know what i'm saying and then with acapella with it like rayquan played it
- 1:38:29
and played his verse and then goes like nah and they were singing the record they were singing these parts acapella
- 1:38:34
together they had a lot of fun with this yeah yeah yeah okay yeah yeah yeah they were dancing like this is another
- 1:38:41
one that then it wasn't for the who won ghostly yeah no no no no no this wasn't that at no point when i was
- 1:38:47
watching this did i try to consider a winner even though i had ghost face maybe winning yeah but when i came on it was like oh y'all
- 1:38:53
are brothers y'all are on every song together y'all aged ghostface even said yo my niece is
- 1:38:58
bad fam i can't get up and jam to this right now like i like that type of [ __ ] they did
- 1:39:03
an outfit change i love ghosts coming out and it's fur with the fur then the water underneath it yeah i stared at
- 1:39:11
ghost wallies for 20 minutes like yeah man talk about branding word like hope i don't smart the big
- 1:39:17
check smart even if he don't we own this [ __ ] he branded wally's with him he don't have
- 1:39:23
to have a deal in fact to to that's fact yeah he does i know he does his own little custom joints and
- 1:39:29
[ __ ] like this yeah i had very low expectations for the
- 1:39:36
show honestly and i had like i was like why are they even doing this [ __ ] this [ __ ] was the
- 1:39:41
greatest verses i've ever seen in my entire life they sung jodeci in front of us yeah like do you feel the same of what
- 1:39:49
greatest verses that you've seen no this shout out
- 1:39:55
[Laughter] no i don't feel like this is the greatest verses ever so i don't think
- 1:40:02
this is the top five verses that i have seen because i know we all like different [ __ ] so that
- 1:40:08
i think you owe yourself just watch that front to back and especially even watch so yeah and when they was just playing like at the end they were like oh
- 1:40:16
we're done we're done they said we're done 15 times and the dj's just kept playing old classic
- 1:40:21
[ __ ] party you can't watch this over though because the other ones you couldn't watch over i think it's all in the instagram told
- 1:40:27
me it was on the instagram so i'm assuming yeah it looks like i'm seeing this video here is two hours and 40 minutes long whatever you're watching right here all
- 1:40:33
right i don't know if they put the whole okay that's the whole thing that's on the official channel they're saying now i like that now versus put out like a
- 1:40:39
schedule correct and the challengers were blotted out so you couldn't tell they were we
- 1:40:45
can guess but they have a how high their redman and method band on 420 that makes sense right
- 1:40:50
no what up i mean it makes this very mad method man on 420 yes i think redman versus method man does not make sense
- 1:40:56
why i said the same thing about ray ray goes ice is also 29 by the way 30. um
- 1:41:05
nah i just don't think they match up why i think method man blows this away
- 1:41:11
really yes oh [ __ ] i don't think i got red man winning this i feel the same way i got method man and i don't think and
- 1:41:16
i'm from jersey i love red man the death i don't think in a versus hit for hit
- 1:41:22
record for record that that matches i'm not factoring in the fact that meth could play matt wu-tang joints
- 1:41:27
exactly yeah yeah yeah yeah cause solo career solo career red man's got wait a second
- 1:41:34
i'm listening so red man's got a lot of solo slaps like a lot bigger than meth
- 1:41:41
not when you include the wu tang uh slaps that that's all i was kind of saying like i just don't see i think i think red man has
- 1:41:50
features that he could play that are not being counted enough i don't want to hear dirty huh yeah
- 1:41:57
i don't want to hear that
- 1:42:05
uh i'm with that my memory is fuzzy i don't know if red is on down with the kings
- 1:42:11
uh beast from the east crazy like red man comes from epmd like that's right
- 1:42:19
all that ever so he has features he could play now granted say vaughn's age
- 1:42:24
group wouldn't care and they might not be familiar and yeah meth this has wu-tang acclaim
- 1:42:31
and some big really solo records and some big features so right that's gonna be a tough out but i
- 1:42:38
don't think people give red man the credit that he should get he's got two if not three classic albums i say three
- 1:42:45
i say three uh he's definitely got it i might have four personally but i like red man red
- 1:42:52
man was probably one of my favorite rappers know what i'm saying don't really have any classic solo albums
- 1:42:57
i'm saying four because personally i'm putting doc's the name in there guys the name is my [ __ ] all right but let's let's
- 1:43:03
say red man has three or four classic albums cool whoever you have winning it will be entertaining to watch that's that's right one thing pull
- 1:43:10
up the uh challenge the challenges again please that's the one thing about
- 1:43:15
redman i've seen him live and it might be like the top john regardless one of the top shows
- 1:43:23
i've ever been to my entire life he knows how to [ __ ] put up he can put on a show entertainment 100 [ __ ] him and math together
- 1:43:28
yeah yeah that alone is gonna be worth watching yeah i'm just talking record
- 1:43:35
versus record i didn't see it happen let's finish running this down mother's day special we don't know who that could
- 1:43:40
be but i'd love to see anita baker or somebody there it looks like it looks like solo yeah it's a solo yeah because it doesn't have
- 1:43:45
the v song got it got it got it got it got it got it i see what they did the rematch i'm assuming this is teddy riley versus
- 1:43:52
babyface again because teddy riley made some sort of reference to it i don't think so i didn't see it yeah he tweeted this he
- 1:43:58
highlighted the rematch part and he put out a little oh okay why we already there's already been a
- 1:44:05
rematch and that's still babyface so yeah maybe lose again i don't know yeah
- 1:44:11
but i'll watch it teddy riley's that dude babyface that dude so we'll see then we have it to be announced we have
- 1:44:16
a ladies night versus and another one to be announced and it says we're just getting started i
- 1:44:22
i understand that looking on what i'm seeing there i don't i do i think i know who one of them to be
- 1:44:28
announces and i'm hoping i'm right because i got my own list of verses that i would love to see which one you which one you see uh the
- 1:44:34
one underneath memorial day okay i'm thinking that last name is bobby brown um
- 1:44:40
shut up who's who's battling bobby brown nobody
- 1:44:45
that's a one that's one word on top of that correct yeah r kelly chris brown oh sure i have usher really that's one
- 1:44:52
of the battles that i said one of the battles i want usher versus chris brown why you don't want to battle the browns
- 1:44:58
bobby brown that's the one i really wanted i have my list of verses that i would do anything to see and that's at the top of the list chris brown gotta
- 1:45:04
wait for drake or well drake's waiting for kanye kanye great behold there's all types of verses
- 1:45:10
yeah it's all kind of little [ __ ] they want who they want yeah usher versus bobby brown don't make a lot of sense to me though just because
- 1:45:16
uh uh the difference in yeah none of y'all are beating bobby brown if our kelly's in
- 1:45:21
jail bobby brown wins it i i said that bobby brown is like brown get the pull from too much [ __ ] bobby
- 1:45:27
brown's new edition new additional [ __ ] ja rule
- 1:45:33
hey we're not going to talk about this i like that song i'm making sure you like the song i like this one all right
- 1:45:39
we got to mention all the people i was in the building when they was making that so i'll do that just make hey i'm making sure because we're not
- 1:45:45
doug loving get disrespected and uh no i'm not watching songs that sounds hard we good did we have uh the eisley
- 1:45:50
brothers verse earth wind and fire when i told my dad about that he was real excited and wanted to know how he could
- 1:45:56
access versus my mom's told me to buy it he doesn't like the matchup no i don't either he doesn't like the match-up isaac bro
- 1:46:02
this is like the late 50s i think putting out right yeah pop said he thought that uh earth wind and fire should probably go
- 1:46:09
against the original cool in the gang but commodores yeah not earth wind and fire that's what he said
- 1:46:14
i don't know who who would win that but i'm watching it i'm definitely watching that and i'm jamming hell yeah not just
- 1:46:20
watching that i am jamming i'm too stepping all through that kind of [ __ ] i'm curious with the memorial day weekend because
- 1:46:26
that sounds like memorial day weekend to me i need i need i need some more currency more than ranking this is
- 1:46:32
teddy raleigh versus teddy rally versus babyface nah it's gonna be a memorial day to me i
- 1:46:38
want to happen tomorrow of course i can of course i can but it's not the same as earth wouldn't fire on
- 1:46:43
memorial day what if it's a rematch of uh the dream yeah gary they want that too
- 1:46:50
they got enough records to do a rematch
- 1:47:04
versus who though a hard out for 10 songs yeah i don't
- 1:47:11
know if she can get to 20. that's my that's my other versus issue you know i talked about that with you
- 1:47:16
earlier what's that versus 20 records yeah you know everybody can't do 20 records that's a fact you know once
- 1:47:24
you get around 12 13 it start getting a little money yeah it gets money yeah for a lot of people for a lot of
- 1:47:30
people and i think they should offer i wish they would do uh opening acts or something like that
- 1:47:35
where you can do it what's the deal someone would say oh you mean opening verses yeah ten ten on ten or five on
- 1:47:41
five like i've seen some verses we had that should not have been 20 records oh yeah and i was just like all right yeah
- 1:47:48
here's your reminder that this is not for everybody yeah yeah april 4th is around the corner these
- 1:47:53
months are going by in the spring quickly that's a fact like it's almost april right now yeah
- 1:48:00
which means summer's around the corner [ __ ] about to go crazy
- 1:48:06
that's it i went and got a colby test because uh i was trying to go to the nick game this
- 1:48:12
weekend uh new york versus philly and they were
- 1:48:17
saying that you can't attend the game if you don't have a kobe test from the last 48 hours 72 hours yeah 70 12 on pcr
- 1:48:23
i get there of course i see people faking the kobe test nah they faking the kobe test would you
- 1:48:29
believe it would you believe it of course they are
- 1:48:34
fit they're faking the kova test to watch julius randle perform well i wasn't when i would call maul and
- 1:48:39
say what he thinks about that but i won't uh yes are they faking the kova test did you go to the game i went to the game
- 1:48:46
i took a cold picture this was my first time taking the kobe test where they put it all the way in your nose
- 1:48:53
that's the good one yeah he was doing the the rapture test yeah i really like that all the way in the nose test that's the
- 1:49:00
spot all the spots i wish i could get to with my pinky like it felt really good i didn't mind
- 1:49:06
after a little itch the garden the garden to make you sign
- 1:49:12
some type of uh paper so that they're not liable for if you come in here and kill everybody
- 1:49:18
and it was a really good time it was a good time in there yeah i mean in new york it just feels like people gearing up to get back out whether it be to the
- 1:49:25
secret strip club to a game knicks nets to dinner just the energy seems to be changing a little
- 1:49:31
bit uh venue capacity what did it look like yeah there was a lot of people in there okay uh i think they
- 1:49:37
they changed the rules they upped the capacity uh so it looked like maybe forty percent
- 1:49:43
thirty thirty three percent whatever that what but spread out amongst the whole garden okay i'm sure the
- 1:49:48
uh players were happy that people were in there cheering uh down at the end of the road where
- 1:49:54
some like real new york fans that were screaming like mvp for julius and tobias harris went to the line they
- 1:50:01
screamed you're not an all-star did you sit courtside i didn't sit courtside i didn't sit in celebrity role
- 1:50:08
i sat alexis i sat along [Applause]
- 1:50:13
that was hilarious bro that picture was great i don't like that because that picture of the lexus wasn't
- 1:50:18
there when i purchased the tickets that was funny i thought i was gonna hit you i got a good laugh
- 1:50:24
at that cause i could imagine you coming in there like you gotta be kidding me yeah i purchased the baseline the
- 1:50:30
baseline seats four of them right thinking we get a good seat we go there i'm right behind the basket
- 1:50:36
and there's a big ass lexus right there blocking our view and they move the seats back so you're not right there
- 1:50:41
and i was really angry about that and the price of admission until i looked across the court and saw that it was like a suv slash
- 1:50:49
caravan
- 1:50:59
yeah that's [ __ ] up yeah i would be pissed that's [ __ ] up and don't tell me i got baseline seats when i got lexus line seats
- 1:51:06
don't do that front view of the [ __ ] car right i'm not gonna buy yeah yeah don't do that well listen back
- 1:51:11
to just how my brain understands things i see that lexus is in some type of deal with the garden
- 1:51:17
they've got their car they've got they got their cars everywhere i mean i don't think they care about me
- 1:51:23
uh i look up and i see uh the chase hall of fame it's chase gates cd i'm like okay they
- 1:51:29
have business with chase save to assume oh yeah they got the uh the garden got the um
- 1:51:35
if you have a chase car they got old private lounge upstairs i was like this is lake they got all types of
- 1:51:40
business none of them know who patrick ewing is but there's some chase business
- 1:51:46
there's some chase business to be had that's crazy uh mitch robinson was back that was cool i won't talk about sports
- 1:51:52
too long because maul's not here for me to laugh at the sports takes but this was cool the knicks lost it was a good time in new york cause the only
- 1:51:58
reason i broke it up yeah um we spoke briefly about quavo
- 1:52:03
and sweetie because we were recording when the news broke right um a lot of backlash from that
- 1:52:11
after we were finished recording one of the rumors that surfaced were that
- 1:52:16
was that quavo repoled his bentley back that he gifted sweetie uh and i'm cool with that yeah
- 1:52:23
i didn't really care about that but i'm here to ask you gentlemen if you were in the middle of a public
- 1:52:30
bad breakup and you gifted your significant other bentley would you indeed take it back
- 1:52:35
i'm gonna need that badly i'm gonna need that i need that run that yeah i'm gonna need that back
- 1:52:41
it depends it depends for me it depends because i don't want you to look at me
- 1:52:47
like i need it it's like alright fam i gave you that go do that you can have that i'll keep it pushing can i add a little bit to that
- 1:52:54
i'm hearing i don't know for sure i didn't see the contract details now let's say this is a leased vehicle
- 1:52:59
that is in your name and y'all had that bad breakup you still keep that stick yeah give me that back
- 1:53:05
give me that back okay yeah you can't key key with your ex and then it's my name on it yeah yeah well no even if you don't keep with
- 1:53:10
your ex if you if the car is in someone else's name and you have it that's trouble
- 1:53:15
on the horizon absolutely yeah she could say i'm not making the payments like yeah
- 1:53:21
whatever ruined your credit yes you're standing no i'm good that's not something we're not really running
- 1:53:27
i need my standing good at the bentley store the car custom it got icy snowflakes in it and say i
- 1:53:32
see a headrest so it's your car i mean you can easily go back there and put that in your name and go get your
- 1:53:38
bitly i'm cool with that and she's going to go she's making a couple dollars yeah i don't i don't need it she can swing the
- 1:53:43
belly but you not you're not gonna i'm not it's not standing my name and we not together sorry i support cuevo in this instance
- 1:53:51
because i understand what you go through when you have a very public relationship and things are not going right and you
- 1:53:58
rather keep things private but you're dealing with the hurt party who wants to divulge things who wants to
- 1:54:05
expose things who wants to expose your participation in all the matters
- 1:54:12
and it'd be like yo fam what are you doing man we was tight it didn't work i creeped out you wasn't
- 1:54:18
sucking my dick for nine months sorry i'm gonna go and get my dick
- 1:54:23
sucked my problem with that with what you just said joe is
- 1:54:28
y'all cool with putting out all the happy [ __ ] though so it's like that come with it if you want to be
- 1:54:34
private be all the way private y'all want to constantly throw to go to
- 1:54:40
the good times in everybody's face let me respond to that playing devil's
- 1:54:45
advocate yes a lot of times when men are participating in that act it's against our will our girl is the
- 1:54:53
person that wants to show the good times to the internet and to the public and hey take this
- 1:54:59
picture jump in hey this is a vibe the men normally we typically are not
- 1:55:04
trying to share in that but our girl wants to so we do it we don't want to take the picture now when things go awry
- 1:55:11
when things go bad it's our girl that's hurt so it's our girl that acts first in
- 1:55:16
unfollowing you in eliminating the pictures from the timeline and giving the bloggers
- 1:55:23
anything to feed off of sometimes men don't want the bloggers in their business correct you know one of the things i
- 1:55:28
love most about this pandemic and quarantine and covid is that the bloggers didn't
- 1:55:34
have so much of [ __ ] real life business to feed off of y'all had to get into like things that
- 1:55:40
could really help the society i loved that as soon as those things stopped happening
- 1:55:46
guess what happened the bloggers uh when outside opened back up the blogger said that carl towns was indeed
- 1:55:52
cheating on jordan woods the whole time carl towns as a man did what he had to do to protect his
- 1:55:59
relationship from it he was like yo dawg that's fake right that's fake it's not real don't
- 1:56:04
exist the the bloggers was like yo dawg no it happened right you're like hey we got your side
- 1:56:11
chick we got the airplane tickets we got the hotel reservations we have everything that's
- 1:56:18
your girl but [ __ ] will be trying to hold down the sanctity of a relationship keep things a certain because you don't
- 1:56:24
want her looking crazy exactly that's what it is and that's a part of it but here we are
- 1:56:29
quavo sweetie [ __ ] is nuts you're both superstars you're both young y'all both have time invested what
- 1:56:36
they're both what young superstars all right good how old are you i'm 30.
- 1:56:42
that's why that's why see i'm 40. so when i say no
- 1:56:49
but no matter when i sit home at 40 years old and i surf the net what i see is money bags yo baby mom did
- 1:56:56
this alexa sky did this such and such did correct correct i'm not interested in any of it but guess what that don't
- 1:57:01
matter the 24 year olds that's all they care about that demographic they only care about this so that makes
- 1:57:09
her a superstar that's what the definition of a superstar i mean depending on the population she's
- 1:57:15
popping no no popular is is today i'm not working under the rules and guidelines that we
- 1:57:22
came up off of today if you're young and you have five million followers on
- 1:57:28
instagram okay you can produce something to get a superstar effect
- 1:57:33
at least amongst your peer group no sweetie and quavo are not superstars in comparison to the superstars rihanna
- 1:57:40
beyonce jay-z anybody musically that we deem to be that way no but to their demo
- 1:57:47
sweetie's the one sweetie is beyonce to the 20
- 1:57:53
quavo quavo regardless of what we feel about him has ushered in a generation absolutely
- 1:58:00
absolutely he's a grandfather he's a veteran yeah he's a brand ambassador correct correct
- 1:58:06
he's all that's just what he is yes maybe not to me because i came up on nas
- 1:58:12
all right it's hard to hit it we're not gonna do that it's a joke
- 1:58:20
jokes ain't jokes if we never get serious that's been a joke of yours that's been a joke of yours for the last
- 1:58:26
10 15 years and i just watched ghost face on the wall [ __ ] introduce nas and say yo when this kid
- 1:58:34
came out we all thought that was the one ghostface is in my top 15 rappers all
- 1:58:40
the time if you think that about naz when he came out i know what that's like hearing that for the first time that's
- 1:58:47
hard hey yo it ain't hard to tell i excel then prevail rappers weren't
- 1:58:52
putting the word excel in their verses back then it ain't hard to tell that was a radio single wasn't really a
- 1:59:00
radio singles going on like that back then so i understand is this all i'm not mad at this the young people
- 1:59:05
should kill nine hey freddie gibbs text me ready gives text me over some [ __ ] i said in the part he was like the other
- 1:59:11
[ __ ] you mean i can't be mad that i didn't win the grammy i doubled down [ __ ] it's nice
- 1:59:18
what do you say yeah if you lose the nazis you lost to naz who hasn't been now he loses who didn't win in 20 years
- 1:59:25
what i was about to say but i don't mean
- 1:59:33
he can be mad yeah freddie gibbs can't be let mad if he loses to nods who
- 1:59:38
can't be mad losing another in 20 years but that's like anybody being mad at
- 1:59:44
susan lucci when she won the [ __ ] emmy or whatever that was that she won after being nominated 25 times
- 1:59:50
that's our equivalent of nicki minaj every year the white people say susan lucci lost again fan did y'all see all my children or nah
- 1:59:58
i used to watch all my children right she's a white legend she didn't win it
- 2:00:05
sorry or like when when leo sorry freddie gibbs you know hey freddie i get it hey you an alchemist could get
- 2:00:11
to get together next year and put together the same thing and put it out and that'd be cool but you can't say i
- 2:00:17
rap i rap better when i'm angry when nas won yeah well you can
- 2:00:24
you lose don't text me about it it's okay you just got this if you text me i'm
- 2:00:30
gonna tell your dog you bucket yeah you gotta take that yeah you have to take that it's not an l when
- 2:00:36
you take an l to a legend at all there's only a handful of legends that
- 2:00:41
like if you lose to them you should actually be honored to even be mentioned in the category with them facts
- 2:00:46
it was nice yeah like outside of me everybody else considers if not the one
- 2:00:53
of the absolute greatest you guys have one of these you consider one of the absolute greatest so don't do that yeah you do but you do it it was written
- 2:01:00
it was one of your favorite it is you do but then there's a lot of albums you know too much music and knows too many
- 2:01:08
artists to not consider nas one of the greatest ever you don't have to be one of your
- 2:01:13
personal favorites but you know what he did of course that's it i know what he yes
- 2:01:19
i'm giving out and he did that with a large percentage of people saying he picked bad beats
- 2:01:25
you lose he did that over bad beats yeah y'all know my brother and i hate
- 2:01:31
that argument with nas nan's went out with dre for the firm and put it out and all of us said those beats are bad
- 2:01:40
hey you owe me came out we said what are you doing i said i loved it i don't think that beat is bad going back a lot of the nas has bad
- 2:01:47
beats takes art yeah there's a lot like even nostradamus which i hated as a [ __ ]
- 2:01:53
backpacker nas fan i go back to like oh this is there's a lot of songs that's where my current
- 2:01:58
fight lives if we want to attack something about nods i'm going to the hooks before the uh beats
- 2:02:05
the beats were fine undying love even if the nostradamus beat came on the day
- 2:02:11
like it's not an encore y'all you should welcome me back the beat by itself rappers would pick it
- 2:02:18
right but some of these hooks that's what you know what you're right the nostalgia yeah
- 2:02:23
not to not stretch that's what makes that argument you know he did over if i ruled the world
- 2:02:31
i could name a million non-hooks that if we get into it it's like all right fam yeah i agree with that but i come from
- 2:02:37
everywhere i know that the lyricists couldn't make hooks i know mcgruff couldn't make a hook dog i know the locks didn't make the
- 2:02:43
best hook we need they need a puff i know i ain't make the best hooks i like the lyrics just couldn't make hooks
- 2:02:48
okay yeah i couldn't make hooks you couldn't make hooks it's true that's the truth i've heard
- 2:02:54
the joke in the producer you want to get a hold placement and have a hook on it right
- 2:02:59
i don't argue it it's true and if you listen to the songs with that new ear when i listen to my favorite
- 2:03:06
whole songs that comes up like allure is one of my favorite songs and the hook comes on in this for i don't know why
- 2:03:13
as somebody that knows what it took to get it for real hook i didn't have that luxury i mean i
- 2:03:20
couldn't put it for real i couldn't make a hook and i couldn't get somebody that could make a hook to be on my songs guess what i gotta sing it
- 2:03:26
hov is not in that position you get pharrell fam i can make this happen if i can get pharrell for beating hook
- 2:03:32
i can make this happen yeah correct sorry noriega he made it happen that's my point yeah
- 2:03:37
it's not to discredit what he did because his catalog is crazy but if i can get pharrell for beating the hook yeah the work is done a little bit
- 2:03:45
if i can get kanye for a beat some of the hook it's cool man after watching this uh
- 2:03:53
wu-tang versus i went back to the stories that were circulating about ghost face turning down the girls girls
- 2:03:58
girls beat by whole if you hear that you would think well what the [ __ ] is wrong ghost
- 2:04:03
face turning down that beat but i mean you know how that happens keeps coming off supreme clientele album's super classic the only problem
- 2:04:10
wasn't worried about finding no beats the problem with me hearing that is the girls girls girls beat sounds like a ghost face well
- 2:04:16
i think i've heard both kanye and just blaze go on record to say that they made beats at that time for ghost face
- 2:04:24
let's do that soul sample [ __ ] i thought i heard one of them say ice cream was the inspiration behind girls
- 2:04:30
ice cream by the way has the best quotables of all time in it quotables quotables i love you like
- 2:04:38
[Laughter] that's the one that comes into play his
- 2:04:44
dick big
- 2:04:50
brother just trying to put that in a song all right moving on to sleep movement right all week
- 2:04:57
she was on a lot of people's lines at that time yes she did that album cover the whole
- 2:05:03
the whole nine yeah there's so many good lines in that song but back to you queen like you can't
- 2:05:09
you can't [ __ ] cherish this [ __ ] and then say but back to you queen queen
- 2:05:15
it's all right yeah yeah i get it adina howard is one of those uh untold doc stories that we need
- 2:05:24
by the way like there's some of these r b untold stories that we need because the
- 2:05:29
r b people had so much hip-hop [ __ ] going on and dean howell was [ __ ] these [ __ ] didn't stand a chance
- 2:05:38
i think i didn't stand a chance uh what else is important out there we
- 2:05:43
covered verses did we cover the mass shootings no let's talk about it a little bit
- 2:05:50
before we get out of here i don't think that we need a three-hour podcast today i think we get right to the meat and potatoes and things and keep it pushing
- 2:05:56
okay uh white terrorism back again again
- 2:06:03
colorado need for gun control yeah colorado again suspect is a resident of
- 2:06:10
arvada colorado and has lived most of his life in the united states boulder county district attorney michael doherty
- 2:06:16
said he sustained a through and through gunshot wound to his leg and was taken into custody at 3
- 2:06:22
28 p.m monday uh he was sent to a hospital in stable condition and was being treated there tuesday though
- 2:06:29
officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect it was wasn't immediately clear whether the
- 2:06:34
shot that injured him came from police so he's alive yeah okay and well
- 2:06:42
okay this is sad you know what's crazy about this is they're getting younger and younger and younger like
- 2:06:47
this kid's 21. yeah you you just able to purchase alcohol man yeah but you you could have been purchased a
- 2:06:54
gun though yeah that that's my problem yeah that's my problem yeah you can get
- 2:06:59
a gun whenever you want to in some of these states it's it's i talked to my mans who lived in pa and
- 2:07:05
he's like yo come through because every time i'm out there we go to the gun range this whole group of us he goes yo come through i just bought an
- 2:07:11
ar-15 and i'm like for what why did you buy a ar-15
- 2:07:17
right you know what his response was and he was dead serious because i can and i i shut up i was just
- 2:07:25
like [ __ ] like what do you say to that right i bought this assault rifle
- 2:07:30
right simply because i can i have no need for it no but because i am able to go into the
- 2:07:36
store and buy an ar-15 i went back might as well i [ __ ] had an extra 300. yo whatever you know
- 2:07:42
like you give them sad like that's that's the problem man that's the problem and they're not going to change 21 year old suspect in monday's massacre
- 2:07:49
the king super supermarket in the colorado city of boulder faces 10 counts of murder in the first
- 2:07:55
degree 10 21 years old bro
- 2:08:02
you killed 21 terrorists i mean you killed 10 people and you got a leg warm mm-hmm
- 2:08:09
but what makes people as soon as the world opens back up get to get right back to mass killing hey man some people have to die
- 2:08:16
well dave chappelle said it he said that was one of the greatest things about covet that you get to avoid these kind of
- 2:08:22
situations massacres this is the seventh one in seven days in the u.s
- 2:08:28
mass shooting where i saw the u.s numbers and it was that's that we were at like over a
- 2:08:34
hundred it's like 102 103 in 2021 and i had to double check i
- 2:08:41
thought i was bugging like yo this is march we didn't even finish march so it's been
- 2:08:47
more mass shootings than it's been days this year that's crazy and i think i believe the
- 2:08:52
the definition of mass is um over four people killed in in in one single shooting
- 2:08:57
that's like the technical term right so just very clear man shooting in boulder is
- 2:09:03
the 102nd u.s mass shooting of 2021. what's wrong with us man and and no one
- 2:09:09
sees a problem with this or buy whatever gun you want yeah buy more because you may be somewhere
- 2:09:16
where the shooting starts so you should have a gun too and then one of the most [ __ ] up things about
- 2:09:21
it is is where this is happening it's like yeah at a supermarket
- 2:09:26
right think about who's at a supermarket it's not like at the clubs it's not like where there's some tension or aggression
- 2:09:33
in that kind of environment yo fam i'm going to buy apples pears and peaches right and i'm scared for a 21 year old
- 2:09:40
to roll up on me not the 45 year old who may be disgruntled or whatever got all this the psychological whatever
- 2:09:46
the word this is just a young kid who who had
- 2:09:52
whatever his reason is 10 people dead a 65 year old a 49 year old 51
- 2:09:57
a 25 year old he killed over three decades of people in in one instance
- 2:10:04
dude he cleared out the first officer and i read this earlier the first officer that
- 2:10:11
i guess arrived on the scene or you know to assess the situation left behind seven kids damn
- 2:10:19
just for doing i'm going i'm doing my job at a supermarket and now there's seven
- 2:10:25
kids without a father bro like like this this is nice this is nuts you can't make this make sense
- 2:10:30
there's so many different things to speak to because then you think about all the unarmed black people
- 2:10:38
it's so many different other things to speak to because there's unarmed black people killing people traffic infractions or
- 2:10:45
nothing so i'd like to allow you to floor off of this topic to tell me how
- 2:10:51
you were okay with bieber harmonizing [ __ ] with this white terrorism going on uh
- 2:10:56
it's not that i was okay because that is what some of our some of our correlation is
- 2:11:03
to that uh and i'll segue that into bieber catching backlash for opening his
- 2:11:10
album or having martin luther king shots in his album credits yep it's not that we bash him for
- 2:11:17
harmonizing [ __ ] it's that we bash some of the evil whites
- 2:11:22
not saying him but some of the evil whites because that is your position calling us [ __ ] when you love us like
- 2:11:30
calling us [ __ ] when you uh are trying to be like us calling us [ __ ] when you share in the talent
- 2:11:36
and the uh economy that our nigerism has provided so we joked around a little last week and
- 2:11:43
you caught some heat i caught some heat for allowing you to say it but off of this serious topic right now
- 2:11:49
like how do you deal with the correlation well for me it wasn't that harmonizing [ __ ] is is
- 2:11:55
not funny you know like in the moment yeah like in the moment we was joking around it you
- 2:12:00
know we brushed past it cool for me what it is it's just progression like if you see the video and it's a
- 2:12:07
nasty video like because even the words after he uh references the kkk and all this
- 2:12:12
other horrible [ __ ] but for me what it was is like all right progression when are we gonna give people the room to grow
- 2:12:20
how long are you going to hold this against somebody if you see the video he looks at least the the youngest i'll say 12
- 2:12:27
the oldest maybe 15 16. and his career is documented for you because i don't want to get into
- 2:12:33
too much empathy for justin bieber it's not him no joe that's what i'm trying to say but let's just hear me out
- 2:12:38
and you can carry on when we see things like this that we can perceive as pandering from
- 2:12:45
the guy who calls us [ __ ] but then has martin luther king
- 2:12:50
in his album credits how should the rest of us feel not you
- 2:12:56
who assesses differently how should everybody else feel if you've ever had a [ __ ] video out there where
- 2:13:02
you harmonized it and then you opened your album with martin luther king pictures in your credits
- 2:13:08
should we feel like you have changed and you've matured or do we feel like you're fronting and pandering he probably saw
- 2:13:13
that as a way to smooth it over or something i mean but over a decade somebody black needs to
- 2:13:19
get involved and say hey you could be changed you could love us but martin luther king in your album
- 2:13:24
notes is not a good idea that's all i'm not i can't speak for
- 2:13:29
where his heart lies i've never met the gentleman yeah uh he's got some slaps
- 2:13:34
i just got some slaps that people particularly social media they don't
- 2:13:40
allow for growth and change of course not and that's not of course
- 2:13:46
my personal opinion on that is [ __ ] apology i don't want your apology to me the best
- 2:13:53
apology is change behavior and making sure you don't repeat the same mistake so i'm not defending bieber
- 2:14:00
but if he changed his behavior learned from that mistake that he made when he was a child
- 2:14:07
if he learned from that make sure to never repeat that mistake and is trying to do the right thing by
- 2:14:13
the people that he offended with that mistake allow him that room and then there's there's two things for me
- 2:14:19
the the first thing is we know his demographic we know who's rushing to listen to the
- 2:14:25
people we know correct where the streams come from right correct they go to his album
- 2:14:30
when else are they going to hear mlk anything like it's just an attempt and i'm not saying it's right maybe it is pandering
- 2:14:37
but on this on the surface on the landscape it's like fam little white boys little white girls
- 2:14:42
young teenager whoever it is that's listening they're never gonna go out of their way to hear it well that's the one person
- 2:14:48
that they actually teach white kids in public school as a white kid that went to public school is martin luther king so they've
- 2:14:53
actually probably heard this speech it's not the most in-depth that you could go you could find some some malcolm at least
- 2:14:59
you know what i'm saying like but so he took the easy way out i don't want us to live here because we
- 2:15:06
touched on this last week correct i just wanted to allow save on the space it's just progression like like like i
- 2:15:11
said it wasn't so much justin bieber it wasn't so much oh the notes was fire like [ __ ] out of here you can't even hear the notes in
- 2:15:18
most of the videos that you find for me it's just like all right when are we going to allow people to to to progress
- 2:15:24
that's what i'm saying it doesn't happen i get it my brother all right i told him i i ain't think you did dawg
- 2:15:29
i ain't thinking he did it well i didn't get with the way it was worded yeah it came off a little bit i
- 2:15:34
understand you're yeah your position is we need each other and that's it we should allow room for
- 2:15:41
growth i think it's interesting that's coming from you because your generation for me y'all are the ones that invented
- 2:15:48
the you don't have room to grow yeah like you all cancel culture guys are the ones that said
- 2:15:54
yo man you did what in the 70s hey that was wrong right even if you don't care about the
- 2:16:00
time even if in the 70s that was happening right hey man that that's important that shouldn't have hey
- 2:16:06
we do that in 2010 yo y'all was tweeting what back then yo y'all that was messed up you're
- 2:16:12
hurting people's feelings so it's like that is your generosity so i think that's interesting that your position is this when it's
- 2:16:18
your generation that came to attempt to rectify every generation before it uh is there anything else that i'm missing
- 2:16:24
that we need to get to rest in peace elgin baylor oh one thousand absolutely one thousand would say rest in peace elgin baylor
- 2:16:30
prayers and condolences to his family friends fans and loved ones somebody else passed away bobby brown junior
- 2:16:37
yeah he passed away bobby brown i think they just got the autopsies yeah the autopsy toxicology is
- 2:16:42
back now and it says that he lost his life from uh the mixture of drugs history alcohol
- 2:16:48
drug abuse uh fentanyl something going on there uh my mind is so [ __ ] up about i don't
- 2:16:55
even know how to take it when they tell me that such and such died from a history of drug abuse yeah we have a history of drug abuse
- 2:17:01
i got that but i mean i ain't gonna go as far as to say that's why somebody died even if that's what the toxicology
- 2:17:07
says like there were events that led up to people taking drugs to deal with certain things like we're here to self-medicate uh
- 2:17:14
that's like they came uh now we're here to but some people are here and they self-medicate to deal with
- 2:17:20
things uh that's just like we stopped saying uh because it was a courtesy issue we
- 2:17:25
stopped saying uh suicide was there's a term that we used for
- 2:17:31
taking your own life or something that was inconsiderate deemed by the mental health community
- 2:17:36
okay because if you don't understand what mental health is and that people are suicidal who are you to say that hey
- 2:17:43
they had mental health and no you can't say that got it like so all of that stuff this is
- 2:17:48
the ballpark that we're in uh rest in peace to bobby brown junior yeah i couldn't imagine being bobby brown and
- 2:17:55
having to live with so much success and pain my wife my kids my wife kids it's a mess
- 2:18:02
yeah it's a mess uh so keep bobby brown and your prayers out there uh did anybody else pass i don't know i
- 2:18:09
think that we know us no right is there anything else that's going on that we need to touch slopes uh
- 2:18:16
snowfall review uh well it hasn't been an episode since since but they did renew they did
- 2:18:22
renew the uh series for another oh yeah so yeah they got another fifth season so you better believe that yeah yeah that one was tonight better
- 2:18:30
not stop better not cancel that now uh big pun got a uh uh a street named after impart a par a portion of east
- 2:18:37
fordham road in the bronx so recipes and snow to legend okay one thousand zero absolutely yeah
- 2:18:43
that's good though all right yeah did uh was it big pawn or is it crystal
- 2:18:49
pun plaza i believe okay yeah i like that yeah yeah i like that i like that a lot um
- 2:18:56
i mean i don't know if y'all care the whole nba young boy situation no yeah i missed it i care you care i care
- 2:19:03
about any time that somebody's arrested feds regular like yeah they they
- 2:19:08
apparently apparently they were looking for him they were looking for him and do we know why they were looking for him said it was a federal warrant
- 2:19:14
yeah they didn't go into details about anything else right they pulled him over he
- 2:19:20
ran they caught the canines out which i know it's gonna sound crazy but i'ma salute him for that like if i know
- 2:19:27
you're looking for me i'm not gonna make it easy oh sure yeah yeah yeah no i'm sorry
- 2:19:32
sorry i just i didn't expect him to be a young boy to make it easy for the authorities
- 2:19:38
everything about this story is red exactly the only part that was funny about this
- 2:19:45
story i'll give you guys the sentence our law enforcement sources tell us the cops set up a perimeter and brought in a
- 2:19:52
canine to help find young boy but by the way we're told the police dog didn't bite
- 2:19:57
him it was just sniffing them
- 2:20:14
you can read the tea leaves no the police are not gonna tell us that that
- 2:20:19
dog tore nba young boy's ass up but that's how they caught him
- 2:20:24
yeah yeah the dog just stopped like no the dog took a bite out of crime
- 2:20:35
oh come on he didn't wear more than rory told me to shut up and i'm corny oh that was funny i thought it was a death yeah i'm with you get it crying
- 2:20:42
he's crying i get it all right never mind he's crying
- 2:20:48
he's not crying all right so yeah nba young boy is in jail on some federal shits 14 counts or some [ __ ] uh
- 2:20:55
javonte got charged with like 14 counts a hit and run on some [ __ ] crime is happening the weather's getting
- 2:21:01
nice the country's opening back up you're going to read this it's going to be a hectic summer
- 2:21:06
have y'all been paying attention to miami yeah miami got crazy miami is [ __ ] nuts [ __ ] down they had to call a state of
- 2:21:12
emergency and shut it down yeah spring break it was fights yeah you know what and let me respond to that they didn't
- 2:21:20
have to call a state of emergency shut it down yesterday did you see the videos see what it looked like i saw a black people no no
- 2:21:27
no no no no not this that this is not right these are the videos you watch white people
- 2:21:33
i said i saw black people did you see what they were doing in those videos
- 2:21:39
these whites look like they're black into them no no the whites are white they're white they're blacked out the
- 2:21:45
videos i saw they were black black people were popping [ __ ] on car hoods
- 2:21:50
partying so you haven't seen it you didn't see the video where they said
- 2:21:57
literally everyone's dying and dashing they got cooks chasing people out on the street
- 2:22:02
you're not gonna hope you're not gonna [ __ ] crucify me for being black that's not being black yes it is that's
- 2:22:09
being a [ __ ] okay let's try this a different way nice
- 2:22:15
and [ __ ] turn dawg ice look that's not being black look at this yes it is that's being black that's black people
- 2:22:22
that's black people so that's my issue with what you're saying as black people i want to hear
- 2:22:29
this part you shut the [ __ ] up you can't say that you shut up because you tell me why not about black people all the time talking
- 2:22:36
about the progression of black people and then you see a video like this and say that nothing's wrong with that i'm not mad at this how old are you no
- 2:22:43
matter how old i am can you answer my question of how old are you again please
- 2:22:49
27. yeah you can't speak so listen to this because no of course it gets people let me respond let me reply to you
- 2:22:56
save on this is joe's belief and my belief only as a black person i can look at black
- 2:23:02
people and say what i'm saying okay i'm saying that when i see footage of what's going
- 2:23:08
on in miami i'm not seeing the footage of all the whites i'm seeing the footage of all the blacks doing [ __ ] that black people do
- 2:23:15
we run out on the check we party when the music is up when we get drunk we get loud we dance
- 2:23:21
on the cars we cause a scene we're doing black [ __ ] what hey you've heard my theory of how racism was born
- 2:23:28
they seen us blacking out and they ain't like having too much fun and yeah we was killing [ __ ] break dancing jumping over
- 2:23:34
[ __ ] come on stegosaurus where creating we are break dancing around
- 2:23:40
yeah around the dinosaur hey a [ __ ] was dunking over the tyrannosaurus rex
- 2:23:46
white people seen what blacks was doing and they had a black look this footage i've seen a homeboy running around check
- 2:23:52
prime 112 wherever that was i did that i did that before so my issue with you
- 2:23:57
let me talk to you now comes from [ __ ] whatever you see in the picture florida for the last 15 years has been
- 2:24:03
responsible for debacle after debacle after debacle that's true that is political criminal call it how you want only
- 2:24:11
against black people only against blacks see we keep thinking miami's miami no
- 2:24:17
[ __ ] florida still correct geographically it is what do you think goes on in florida
- 2:24:22
so don't tell me how to feel when i see videos of black people in florida being handled
- 2:24:30
and treated a certain way you [ __ ] wasn't calling for a hey i've been in miami for hey once every other month for the last
- 2:24:36
years my getaway i didn't hear nobody calling for a curfew it wasn't spring break though so what it
- 2:24:43
wasn't black it wasn't it wasn't black don't use the cold words i'm not trying to use a cold black
- 2:24:49
joe spring break is blacks no spring break is college kids no spring break is college kids yes it is
- 2:24:56
no it's not spring break is college kids that's not true now i'm gonna tell you what's happening i'm telling you that's not true it's not
- 2:25:02
spring break it's college kids so you said spring break means miami is white period uh college kids
- 2:25:07
not college kids all year round you might bump into some white people spring break the blacks across the globe
- 2:25:15
say we're going to miami we're going to lomb we're going to vegas that's where the
- 2:25:20
economy is headed so when they put out a word for only that time when they send the special forces out to
- 2:25:27
deal with covet laws for only that time when you go to the places that only the black people
- 2:25:33
frequent for only that time and then you make a spectacle of it in mass media i know the history of mass media all
- 2:25:39
right i'm with you i know the rules that massive media has played in this so yeah y'all are right black people should not be
- 2:25:45
dancing on the hood and running out on checks but guess what black people are black people and if that's happening
- 2:25:50
there's another way to deal with that then shooting people than to enact a curfew than to say hey
- 2:25:56
don't come here and that's what i have known to happen from florida so what do you do when this is happening
- 2:26:02
and if you're uh uh an official in florida bro like yesterday you lost control of the
- 2:26:08
[ __ ] city this [ __ ] looks wild right you ready i'm listening you ready are you ready are you ready yes are you
- 2:26:15
ready you [ __ ] paid for it so you just let them you go i'm not saying you let them [ __ ] it up
- 2:26:21
because that's the that's the problem that's the problem no you wow you let bieber harmonize [ __ ] you shut up
- 2:26:27
it's not a wild conversation you gotta own them you have to own that ice you let them
- 2:26:33
[ __ ] it up that's what you do you manage it okay so you manage the damage control
- 2:26:39
and what's done but when black people are angry we're gonna [ __ ] something up
- 2:26:45
and when white people [ __ ] [ __ ] up they just fix it and it gets paid for and covered up you go home
- 2:26:50
hey bodies are dropping blood is pouring all over the streets but everybody's uh everybody's uh
- 2:26:57
political interest and financial interest is protected when you're white
- 2:27:03
it's only black people when we break into windows oh now we go to jail for 75 years
- 2:27:08
no we're angry over the state of things back to the looting argument so we're looting we're kicking in
- 2:27:13
windows of course it's [ __ ] up i'm a human you ain't got to come tell me it ain't played [ __ ] up but
- 2:27:19
it all is [ __ ] up and it all has been [ __ ] up i say me my own opinion i wouldn't live
- 2:27:26
in florida i wouldn't even [ __ ] i think miami for the record is a majority uh latino
- 2:27:33
for what it's worth i don't care i don't i just you said you're talking about it you said that miami is mostly white it is all right let me
- 2:27:40
correct let me correct myself i'm not talking about who occupies it i'm gonna talk about who runs it
- 2:27:45
okay i'm talking about who maybe you're trying to know i don't know about the politics of the president oh please don't don't get
- 2:27:50
smart you've been with me you've been with me in miami on tour for rage and cena not miami in florida and seen the trucks
- 2:27:56
running around with the confederate flags you've seen the elections lost over miami you've seen the bodies drop in
- 2:28:02
miami what cop didn't get charged florida i'm sorry yeah that's a mistake yeah i don't mean
- 2:28:07
i don't mean miami yeah i mean florida that's all we have a great understanding of what goes on in
- 2:28:13
florida so when i cut the tv on ice and see hey there's a curfew now and now only and now it's spring break
- 2:28:19
okay i know now it's spring break because my girl who got [ __ ] kids won't talk to
- 2:28:25
me [Laughter] she's busy with the kids hey my kids is
- 2:28:33
out of school i don't have to teach them i don't have to do homework i'm up for the night and if they low lashes
- 2:28:39
is up to we all up that's spring break i'm in jersey like
- 2:28:44
big footies good stuff hey [ __ ] don't do some homework i'm trying to get my [ __ ] off
- 2:28:50
joe what i'm saying is you like when black people are hosed down and white snakes no no that's not what i'm saying
- 2:28:57
position is that you said that last week nobody and i won't let you say it again you don't want to see black people hold
- 2:29:04
down when white people feel like they're destroying the white streets nobody said that what i've got just making sure it is we got to hold our people
- 2:29:11
accountable too though bro like this [ __ ] we have to be like all right you sitting here saying yo it's all right [ __ ] it up all right cool that's
- 2:29:17
not cool just that fast you brought me back too cool the pretend beef between this podcast and the
- 2:29:25
conversation that we're talking about now ice you're right we do have to hold each other accountable
- 2:29:30
you're wrong because us holding each other accountable looks different than this i'm with you on that it looks like hey
- 2:29:37
my brothers are going through something over there i understand that because i come from it
- 2:29:43
right so i'm allowing you grace to go through it and let's figure it out that's very different from
- 2:29:48
a white person looking at the situation and saying ah deal with it broke [ __ ] deal with
- 2:29:55
it that's the way to land this is our [ __ ] we'll hire some inclusive black person to act like we like black people what
- 2:30:01
the [ __ ] did prince charles harry prince charles dude hey uh meg did that interview oh yeah
- 2:30:06
and the royal people that went higher than the diversity training yeah yeah i saw that clubhouse was going through whatever
- 2:30:12
they was going through i got the phone with the owners i got it's not nuts if you understand i
- 2:30:17
got in the phone with the owners of these apps and says yo man if you care about black people last year when we was dropping dead yo you're hiring somebody that will help
- 2:30:24
communicate with the black people to understand the black people know what they all say hey that says to me that you don't care
- 2:30:32
or you're not interested in what it takes to care that ain't for me to sit around and
- 2:30:37
try to persuade you on i'm here to deal with who knows what and whoever don't know it you deal with
- 2:30:43
that on your own i'm not going to miami during spring break but that's not cause i'm raised i'm 40 years old i'm not
- 2:30:48
going to miami springs i don't i don't have time to party with these kids yeah i've seen it for the last 10 years my
- 2:30:54
little cousin just came back last week and i'm like dude you went down like first off you went last year during spring break in court
- 2:31:00
covey you went back i watched little wayne come out of jail or whatever happened he
- 2:31:07
put out a song and he told the listening public live on sundays
- 2:31:13
king of diamonds monday right that was the song and i watched people from all over the country
- 2:31:19
rush to miami just to experience that to experience live on sunday diamonds diamonds monday i was telling
- 2:31:25
people like you're not coming home on monday night
- 2:31:37
we can get out of here man i think i explained our podcast business to a t hopefully i didn't offend anybody out
- 2:31:43
there rory and mall you know the vibes we built this city i love y'all we love y'all see you when y'all get back here
- 2:31:49
rest in peace to everybody that we may have lost absolutely the business is still a business gotta work shout out to everybody that's grinding shout out to
