- 7:51
you say it like it's kicking your ass i'm outside this weekend i mean we shooting a field one i ain't necessarily
- 7:56
losing
- 8:04
for real bruh everybody going through something no
- 8:09
yeah yeah of course so you should feel one i mean something it could be a it could be a stare off something yeah we
- 8:15
might not have gotten it guys identifying your opponent
- 8:21
sometimes you can look at your fair one and then glance over and see that [ __ ] fair one and be like i ain't mad at my fair one no more absolutely so
- 8:28
he's only fighting the little dummy yeah yeah see the fight this [ __ ] you handle that i'm only fighting the heavy bag
- 8:35
that is true yeah i could have been watching i just know in the blink of an eye [ __ ] can change yeah
- 8:41
and i wouldn't does i was walking down the stairs this morning
- 8:46
what you dropped i knew that i wasn't carrying it but i walked down the stairs how ginger and got and got to the
- 8:52
my destination floor and almost twist my ankle i beat the stairs and almost cracked
- 8:59
some chests oh [ __ ] you're a little delicate ass and it's coming look
- 9:04
oh something's gonna snap oh no it's getting worse no you twist something it ain't like it used to be where you bounce back and you good no you're gonna
- 9:09
feel that [ __ ] for the rest of the day like no i still i still bounce back and your feet start
- 9:16
yeah [ __ ] coming you see what my foot just did we know wolverine
- 9:22
yeah yeah talk about it now all right so y'all want to get right to the [ __ ] ice you want to update me on on this
- 9:28
boozy [ __ ] or do y'all want to start with trying to guess who the two crews are that uh atlanta is coming
- 9:34
for that that's bad energy yeah that's very bad
- 9:39
energy all right did you guess at home yep maybe
- 9:44
maybe it's a turtle even there i don't want to say it out loud you put it in the air and then it you
- 9:49
know you manifest things so well she said that [ __ ] all right well watch her sometimes
- 9:56
why she say it just give me that i think she said it because they got
- 10:02
a number of people under heavy surveillance and i think they just they want to
- 10:07
shake the nest a little bit and see if people start scrambling if they can catch somebody make a mistake or something like that
- 10:13
you know the reports i'll put the icing on the reports i've seen and read about from the nba young boy trial about some
- 10:19
of the [ __ ] the prosecutors trying to pull off in there what's he gonna try for again
- 10:25
uh a gun gun uh just a gun possession that's it
- 10:30
that not on him in his car in the car it was state
- 10:38
that matters a lot it does but but what they doing i don't expound on what they know being nasty
- 10:43
no they they try trying to incorporate his lyrics to songs of course they're pulling up internet internet day one
- 10:51
yeah they pulling up internet searches and old [ __ ] from other cases
- 10:57
they're pulling up guns they're pulling up guns that he was seen holding on an internet and saying this
- 11:03
is the gun [Laughter]
- 11:11
you can't determine that this is the gun they make toy guns like this yeah you can't see the cereal on this like how
- 11:17
are you identifying what are you doing and the judge ain't waiting under this [ __ ] anyway okay the judge is like
- 11:22
why are you wasting my time we got [ __ ] to get to this is a simple gun case i don't want to hear all this [ __ ]
- 11:28
but just what's going on speaks to what's going on is what i'm saying i agree with what a clown show i'm reading
- 11:34
like just into that case it's like they got five different sets of fingerprints on it they don't know like
- 11:41
it they don't have a case it look like like it's almost like yo when they got throwing this out like what are we doing
- 11:47
it's that bad just wasting time that's what it looks like that's what it looks like that's crazy it looks crazy
- 11:54
there's one of those one of the uh tests said we cannot we got five sets of fingerprints but we
- 12:00
can't say if he's one of the sets like it's inconclusive if it's if one of the fingerprints match him
- 12:06
and this is already known here it looks ridiculous
- 12:13
it looks ridiculous and he got bread right so now it's not even a economic thing it's like yo fam this is some real
- 12:20
y'all trying to pickle me yeah
- 12:26
all right so then let's not start there or let's let's leave there yeah delete it let's leave there but um so
- 12:34
over the last couple days a video show a video pops up of boosie he got pulled over by i believe it was
- 12:40
atlanta police george somewhere in georgia yeah georgia police and
- 12:46
oh he got pulled over because they smelled weed he got pulled on me before and
- 12:51
he went off he went crazy he went like he's handcuffed him and his mans
- 12:56
and he's like he's telling the cop i'ma [ __ ] you up i can't wait when y'all take me to
- 13:02
jail i can't wait i'm swinging on the first white [ __ ] i see the first i'm spitting on the first nurse i see like
- 13:07
he's spazzed out for the cop to come back and say all right we found a little bit of weed
- 13:13
we're gonna give you a citation and we letting you go so
- 13:18
now but why the handcuffed him or the haircut because he was wild they was
- 13:24
checking the car they were checking the car oh okay they had him in him and his man standing in handcuffs and he was just yeah usually don't handcuff just
- 13:31
for a little search i don't i don't know [ __ ] yes but then
- 13:37
so the video goes out should tmz post it and i think he said chadron posted it
- 13:43
and his instagram ended up getting banned again i didn't know who got back
- 13:48
he keep he'll create it under another name okay you know they keep finding the secret one yeah
- 13:54
so he got it he got banned again where can we hide safely and jumped on twitter
- 13:59
and just lost his mind like it was one of the wildest he dear god give us kobe back and take
- 14:06
mark zuckerberg and his family and put them on the plane instead like the [ __ ] he was saying was nuts
- 14:13
going after their wives their kids like all right well you just stop saying it no you just started this [ __ ] with the
- 14:19
power words okay well we'll fix that but um
- 14:25
or will they stay tuned tomorrow yeah they might not
- 14:31
they might know that y'all left some [ __ ] in another episode this morning i was like oh anyway jesus that's crazy when you say
- 14:38
yo you got me and they say yeah and then they don't go they don't have you you gotta have yourself think
- 14:43
i think he could take you that's why but no he's just been wilding out on on
- 14:50
instagram and then says all right i made a new page this is the page follow me i'm going
- 14:55
live which i think happened it's good they clipped it
- 15:01
yes but my thing is like like the the last time he was you
- 15:06
know me made the video come on mr zuckerberg man like hey busy you're not getting your
- 15:13
pitch back this time ever you just make a new one no no you're
- 15:18
fam you start talking about the owner's family still gonna put a new email up somewhere sure it's possible okay
- 15:26
shut that one down zoo yeah but the value is in you need to maintain a page long enough to build the
- 15:32
following to where you can now monetize off of that they're clipping that
- 15:37
like reacting that way is not going to get your page back true that's what i'm saying i agree
- 15:43
where's waldo successful though maybe the see now what oh no i was about to say what would happen if i had the
- 15:50
instagram insurance thing that we talked about a little while ago but that doesn't apply they clip you he wasn't hacked
- 15:57
well don't apply if it comes from instagram yeah um i don't know if y'all heard about the new thing um
- 16:03
where instagram is putting out some subscription [ __ ] coming soon they ran the beta now they about to put
- 16:09
out some subscription [ __ ] for celebrities now you can start monetizing your page directly oh they got that
- 16:15
no litter like a only fans type of situation okay because now what they have now like you go live on instagram
- 16:21
people can buy badges and all that type of [ __ ] and subscribe directly i mean i'll pay you directly now tips so let's
- 16:26
say joe right he wanted to have a borderline patreonish you wanted to have
- 16:32
subscribers that subscribe to your page you could get them exclusive content from you just your instagram you know
- 16:39
what i'm saying and it's what happened was they beat they saw people come up with they said it's for
- 16:44
tick tock look they saw people come up with because a lot of the girls started doing this
- 16:51
um 25 to be added to my close friends which is genius if you ask me sure
- 16:58
so you add them you know you pay them whichever way they want you send your name and then they'll add you so
- 17:04
i guess instagram saw got wind of that coming on and said all right now we need a piece of that so now we're going to give you the option
- 17:10
to go ahead and make something where they could subscribe directly to you but now we get a percentage out of it because every platform is doing it
- 17:16
twitter has it like everybody's letting you set up your your way to
- 17:22
to have people subscribe directly and give them exclusive content well the article i read basically said it was
- 17:28
damn near like indirect contention to tick top i don't know you know i don't know
- 17:34
i don't know i don't i don't know any of those i only know patreon yeah but basically they
- 17:39
said that um like you could get exclusive reels you could get exclusive photos you could get exclusive [ __ ] that nobody else could
- 17:45
get once you subscribe to this particular person so i think it's the only fan's wave it's
- 17:50
just merged with it's all they're all doing like i said twitter has super follows you pay a certain fee to a
- 17:56
person directly per month and you get access to you you're the only one that can see their tweets or whatever as long
- 18:02
as you're subscribed to them every every platform is set in their subscription model to where you
- 18:07
subscribe directly to the person and you can get whatever they decide to give you as a subscriber and facebook and
- 18:13
instagram have been good for going to see what other people are doing and put that [ __ ] right on this [ __ ] oh yeah they tried about snapchat
- 18:20
all that show on instagram now you don't even really see posts it's all reels yeah everything they've literally
- 18:26
switched the entire model over to reals i go on instagram i'm looking like who the [ __ ] i don't even follow you right
- 18:32
like you're putting because you looked at a video from snoop dogg here's three other reels i didn't even look at the
- 18:38
reel from him i scrolled past it right so yeah it's it's
- 18:44
instagram is oh tick tock is what's working cool we're going to copy everything and put
- 18:49
it here okay get the snapchat tick tock is too big for them yeah they
- 18:54
can't thank you do y'all want to talk about styles p and uh hell yeah absolutely of course
- 19:01
absolutely yeah got a salute style this is a hundred percent
- 19:07
let's see i think um it was amazing what he did and i think um
- 19:12
the follow-up was even better like i think the follow-up was better i think it was amazing
- 19:17
when he went on live he went on live and he he apologized for his actions right and then but he also said some important
- 19:24
[ __ ] like i'm not anti-cops i'm not anti this he said basically and we we all all agree
- 19:30
that the cops that are in our neighborhoods don't identify with us you feel what i'm
- 19:36
saying and so he's like yo i'm encouraging people from the hood to start trying to be cops
- 19:41
especially in your neighborhoods or neighborhoods that you are you know familiar with because that is better
- 19:47
policing you know what i'm saying like so he was like yo i'm not against the cops or reversed than people or any of that [ __ ] he said i've seen him slam a
- 19:54
girl so that of course you're gonna get on high alert and he was like you know i apologize for the stance i took but he
- 19:59
was like yo um he's encouraging young black men to start being cops to try and add to the
- 20:05
policing of our neighborhoods and i think that's dope it is dope for it to come from someone like him because the the problem there
- 20:12
is our community has like and it's especially the younger mindset
- 20:17
anything remotely related to a cop they call snitching and i think we just got a disdain for
- 20:22
them at least no but i'm not just i'm saying for a young black man to go take the
- 20:28
police test he will be looked at in his hood like yo you do you own that both things are true
- 20:34
so we have to like break ourselves out of that we can change it we can change the
- 20:39
relationship with the police by i don't know what he said yeah doing what he said in places where they let
- 20:45
you like in new york you can't police the neighborhood you live in but but if you've come from let's just
- 20:50
say flatbush brooklyn uh-huh they might put you in uh new rochelle and they'll bring people
- 20:56
from new rochelle down here but you could go to another um urban community in the bronx or somewhere i don't get to
- 21:01
pick your community no i'm just saying but no i just think that that would be better yeah because they you identify with that i completely agree what i'm
- 21:07
saying i think that you should be able to police your own neighborhood like you should be able to join the police force of your area but they i guess for safety reasons
- 21:14
don't like to do that in new york i don't know i just knew some of my old neighbor was joining the police force and he's like they're gonna put me
- 21:20
forward sales or some [ __ ] like they won't let me police this jersey's a little different but um i just think
- 21:26
that's i've been saying that forever like back in the day um mr johnson knew these kids you know what i'm saying like
- 21:32
if they saw joe and joe was [ __ ] 12 getting into some mischief like no we're not gonna get a permanent stain on his
- 21:39
juvenile record i'm gonna take him home because i know his father could kick his ass cause i know his father directly and i just think that's important and
- 21:45
there's another problem though a lot of these kids you can't take them home dad ain't in the house that's true
- 21:51
these kids is raising themselves but you can identify with that as well agree i
- 21:56
agree well they didn't move all of mr johnson's off
- 22:02
the block they rung the bell and bought that house that's true it's airbnb now
- 22:09
or they knocked it down and put some luxury purposes yeah yeah that's him
- 22:14
that's him they picked up your old crib and tossed that [ __ ] yo phone
- 22:20
no but they block that whole big ass look like bigfoot came and stepped on
- 22:27
that [ __ ] you pointed to it the other day oh that was where y'all used to go yeah yes i didn't know that oh no i thought that's
- 22:34
why you pointed to it no i never i was just showing you the new development going up i've never been to the old park's old little
- 22:43
they got rid of the business i didn't know everybody that lived hell man that's funny well the guy owned all of
- 22:48
that [ __ ] he owned the restaurant he owned the ones oh yeah four houses and the parking
- 22:54
lot behind oh man he came uh oh yeah he came up and he came up yeah yeah not here monopoly he's out in real life
- 22:59
uh-huh he just you're on the whole block and he's just round of applause for him indiana avenue some [ __ ]
- 23:05
a whole bunch of money [ __ ] did anybody win the lotto when it was like whatever it was the other day
- 23:10
something stupid not me because i was supposed to run out and play oh nah i ain't nobody know when it's crazy
- 23:16
that's when i play see i'm glad i know because i'm gonna spend 100 when it's 800 million
- 23:22
yeah no it was something crazy the other day i meant to play but anyway uh all right
- 23:27
where do you want to go what do you want to oh wait wait i'm not done with that i'm not done with that with styles that was scary as [ __ ] watching that
- 23:34
wait and touch that part see that comes that i saluted him dog
- 23:41
when i saw that because he literally put himself into hazard that was dope that is terrifying yeah
- 23:48
that was dope it's scary as [ __ ] watching it we've seen this kind of what i touched on before a couple of hours ago we seen
- 23:55
so many body like yeah it's scary watching it but [ __ ] wasn't even
- 24:00
like thinking that this if the cop would have let's say it would have went all the way left we've seen
- 24:05
that [ __ ] happen so many times and i think people are actually jaded at even seeing cops shoot unarmed people now facts
- 24:13
disgusting it's disgusting bruh i was scared watching that for him
- 24:19
yes yes i agree hell yeah no no no that's why i said it was super dope on his behalf
- 24:24
super dope now i understand that's his whole town i mean that's his hometown but he's more of that too
- 24:31
i know the normal cops on this shift [Music] and i probably know the cop that hired
- 24:37
you like i've been here my whole life so there is some some freedom that comes with that
- 24:44
i'm legit there's some freedom that comes with that and there's an adrenaline rush because i
- 24:50
just watched you slam a woman to the ground with your knee on her back and all that
- 24:55
other [ __ ] that [ __ ] is terrible and he needed the message maybe not in this delivery but i don't have an
- 25:01
opinion on it
- 25:07
yeah i was afraid not as bad and then the story broke not too long after this or before my memory
- 25:12
is bad right now of uh the uh get a gas station at the gas
- 25:18
station guys saw a couple arguing in the car went over there
- 25:23
went over to the car to try to defend the young lady guy shot him [ __ ]
- 25:30
he died young lady left with the shooter wow
- 25:36
i don't play that what's your stance on that while we're here i don't play um it depends on the situation if you're not
- 25:41
related to me i'm on my business it depends on the situation i like my stance yo dawg i i've personally been in
- 25:47
these situations before and what will happen is dog you you'll [ __ ] around and get an
- 25:52
argument with the dude so let's just say you to do get in a fist fight fist fight is the low end now
- 25:59
but you could even get in a fist fight even if you win yo you might break your hand you know what i'm saying yeah yo he
- 26:05
might get some [ __ ] off you got a black eye you got a busted lip whatever the case may be three days later
- 26:12
he get hit you over here with a broken hand with a cast for six weeks eight weeks he getting hit for some
- 26:18
from the same person you was trying to defend yeah yeah but so i would get
- 26:30
a different girl over here i ain't think i'ma have a black eye and no head while he gets broken
- 26:40
you defended a girl that's literally just going to leave with the same dude that was whipping her ass that [ __ ] is different yeah
- 26:46
i don't i don't it completely depends on my situation it depends on how intense it looks you know you can kind of be
- 26:51
around and make a presence felt where someone maybe will act right
- 26:57
just by seeing another group of people around what you're looking at [ __ ] yeah mind your [ __ ] business that might be
- 27:03
enough time if it's a very serious situation for her to get away or whatever it makes she's gonna get away
- 27:09
our minds my [ __ ] business what's your thing call it what you won't i'm getting i'm making a hole in my baby
- 27:15
what's your stand i'm getting involved in that i'll call the cops for you yo yo yo i
- 27:20
need to get over here this gas station something going on as i peel off
- 27:26
we should stand man leave me alone are we trying to interesting you know how many podcasts
- 27:31
might be one your stance on something i'll give it alex you hear the boy forgive it
- 27:37
now i'm trying to think i think you completely passed it it's a sticky situation but because i
- 27:42
agree with y'all i'm on my business bro but i'm certain that there's an instance where i would feel compelled to say
- 27:48
something it would have to be like i'm just not racking my brain to think of that scenario it would have to be something i'm certain a scenario exists
- 27:56
because then you gotta pick and choose your words and do i have a gun on me
- 28:05
if you got a gun now what happens yeah in jersey or new york
- 28:10
you got a gun now you gotta rush you now over beating up his girl
- 28:16
i ain't [ __ ] ain't worth it bro you're gonna be sitting in that rikers that [ __ ] ain't working [ __ ] crowded no thank you over over defending you like i said
- 28:22
i can call you some help y'all can say what you want i can call you some help ice is right down 9-1-1
- 28:32
[Laughter]
- 28:42
ever called 9-1-1 i have actually that's a prank i haven't
- 28:48
called 9-1-1 in a really like forever and then the first time i called 9-1-1
- 28:53
is when i learned that that's not somebody locally in the hood that could come out [Laughter]
- 29:01
they really should update that it's a dispatcher it's a dispatch yeah oh yeah yeah man you know how long that
- 29:08
you took i was raised to believe 9-1-1 was like
- 29:15
the the red big red button and they was coming oh no you had about another hour that's just
- 29:20
like triple a [Laughter] i had an emergency going on in the house
- 29:26
[ __ ] was taking their damn time you shoot me i ain't never what area yeah that's all
- 29:32
that matters but nobody what areas [ __ ] he was there shut up ice was always there when something
- 29:38
happened with the girls and they took long and i'm here hell yeah
- 29:44
they took long yeah i couldn't think of actually i did call a couple times but i guess it wasn't an emergency situation
- 29:49
but they took their that it was hours before you were being a michael i'm sorry
- 29:54
i don't know what guy came jordan jordan tyson i don't know what i don't know if you are being a kin
- 30:00

- 30:07

- 30:12

- 30:18
the last time i did that i saw a [ __ ] up accident like and i was like yo oh yeah i'll do that yeah yo i just i
- 30:25

- 30:30

- 34:26
impatience you want to try to catch this lady
- 34:32

- 41:45
me your advice on this [ __ ] over here right nah they could be like yo i'm coming over there too [ __ ] ah

conversation i said i welcome all creators to join patreon
- 42:05
every last one of you especially content uh creators and producers such as nori
- 42:11

- 42:20
but you you can do it yeah yeah nah
- 42:25
later i'll process hating on the [ __ ] and then something
- 42:33
would i do that i don't think i hate on [ __ ] no more what well not like what the fans say
- 42:40
i'm not talking about that i mean like in real life oh okay irl
- 42:45
just tell them reviews yo that's another reason you had to stop [ __ ] the young chicks yo i don't know nothing they're
- 42:50
saying i can't tell you what they're saying to me they say asl age sex location instead
- 42:58
of as hell and i only know asl to mean a text location

- 43:21
horny ass i was on aol and i never not seen that it was it was there on here i believe you i'm just saying yeah
- 43:27
it's crazy now like the [ __ ] that they say like we just old we old we old everything is an acronym fr
- 43:37
fam i knew we was [ __ ] up when they started
- 43:43
a while to figure out that they was misspelling [ __ ] purposely i'm like yo that's longer than the word
- 43:52
what you doing
- 44:04
they think we should just drop dead already like why y'all even on earth breathing
- 44:10
that's funny you know i had to let one of them [ __ ] know when we put our picture up from uh the bank [ __ ]
- 44:15
yo y'all [ __ ] old that's the goal i'll let one of them know not two of them though no i just have one
- 44:22
that's the goal two of them you might be pushing your luck the odds if the more the numbers go up
- 44:28
they don't favor you these [ __ ] broccoli is different they brussels sprouts it's different remember brussels browns they like them
- 44:34

- 46:04
[Music] yeah you could have did like a little first day out freestyle or something where that's what they do yeah that
- 46:10
would have been ill yo that was your debut you ain't even gonna build a tiny house
- 46:15

- 46:32
congratulations to nba young boy no doubt i'm sure that was annoying at least
- 46:38
yeah the very least it was annoying like that whole [ __ ] when when you when there's no case
- 46:44
against you i know that [ __ ] got it like come on they said they asked juror number six uh
- 46:50
when they were trying to pick the jury is is there any possible reason why she would be unable to be objective in this
- 46:57
case and she said i love that there you go
- 47:04
yeah yeah yeah you should have just said why be better that would have did it there
- 47:10

- 48:16
they could put solicit yo all right come on what else is important weekend no what weekend son you might be in there
- 48:22

- 49:02
don't even get scared straight anymore yo yes i do it's not the real one
- 49:07
nah it's a little worse not the no it's not not it is yo you mustn't see it in a while
- 49:12

- 49:24
program where they was taking the [ __ ] to the just not recording that program that specific program did not there's not a real
- 49:31
version today y'all talking about something else because that's why scared straight
- 49:36
stopped being real cause it got real cause they got what's good was too real so they ain't gonna come
- 49:42
come back realer no i was just putting them well pull up beyond scared straight nah yeah yeah you talking about this
- 49:48

- 50:57
that i've had on my screen all week and just having press play on my girl
- 51:03
my no some weird [ __ ] to my some dad did to his daughter oh the um girl in the
- 51:08
picture one yeah i watched that it's a good it's good right yeah yeah everybody said that was good i need hugs
- 51:14
i'm a hugger and a sleepwalker some [ __ ] some dad did today daughter
- 51:20

- 51:46
about that last week i watched it yeah i'm sorry that was great though it was
- 51:51
he um well i gave some backstory yeah the uh the the theater that got
- 51:56
named after him he did the acceptance speech about it yeah it was good i didn't know he made it especially that's what covered uh
- 52:04
yeah content would you like to explain it to us why don't you already explain it i i didn't i didn't like it
- 52:09
you explained it yeah okay um they wanted the name he went to
- 52:14
duke ellington uh school and they wanted to name oh i know that part i thought you meant something about
- 52:20
the special well no in the special it was actually his speech
- 52:25
but he just made it a special correct like and tied into believing in yourself like
- 52:31
yeah i walk i kind of thought about you a little bit how you walked away from the spotify [ __ ] like he goes into that
- 52:37
like what it takes to really stand up and believe and just like it was like an inspiring speech but still
- 52:43
had its funnies in it like dave is great he talked about turning down the 50 yeah i could have took the money i could have
- 52:49
took i could have told you i could have took it and then what kind of i saw some backlash from
- 52:54
i'm not going to say the comedian's name but he was like yo is dave chappelle even a comic now like like he ain't
- 53:00
doing stand-ups he's doing speeches and still like it's hate that's hate who shot that i'm curious too tell you yeah wayne's
- 53:07
demon wings really yeah well some straight hate yes hey he's transcended comedy
- 53:15
is a community at the same time when you could do inspiring [ __ ] damon wayne's question was is is he
- 53:20
still a comedian because this isn't his last he's had a handful of things
- 53:26
that were not typical stand-up comedy and that that's just that's what that's what i still laugh during them shits
- 53:33
even when even the serious ones he would throw in a little joke somewhere nah he's telling stories he's
- 53:40
but at the same time still managing to be inspiring still doing his [ __ ] and keeping it funny i think that's harder
- 53:46
to end up telling jokes absolutely so i think he gets more [ __ ] praised for that and still bucking the system
- 53:52
like i'm still going against what society's saying i got to do and not for nothing to me that's elevating
- 53:58
the craft of comedy exactly any i think anybody can stand up and have somebody write you some jokes and
- 54:03
tell your jokes not saying that damon wins on write his own show because i don't know right but i gotta say anybody could could stand up and just tell jokes
- 54:10
right now anybody can do it but i was about to say there's a difference between trying to see it in context too to see how he
- 54:17
said it because somebody might have took it from the internet and immediately turned it into hate and it might not be
- 54:22
hate and it might be something different so i gotta i gotta read it for myself and see what he's saying myself
- 54:28
okay but the specialist both these specials burr and chappelle are fit fantastically
- 54:35
they are two of us yeah absolutely the last billboard one didn't hit the greatest but this one was he's
- 54:41
back back and forth oh great i didn't love the last one yeah he's back and forth he's a monster and he's one of my
- 54:46
favorites i think he is my favorite today billy burr he might be up to he might be
- 54:53
top five top three him and chappelle will be my first two yeah today
- 54:59
yeah they wanted to for me too um music yeah let's go to it let's get to it it's
- 55:06
a lot let's do it it's been it was a lot this is a crowded little music drop weekend or
- 55:12
friday um we wanna start with giving parks his flowers i would like this yeah i'll mix it up i'll make supreme announce record man
- 55:18
come on dawg and the holy people i mean if it wasn't for i gave you power i
- 55:24
don't know if i would be making music so for me to have the opportunity to do this shot supreme shout out to knives and mass appeal
- 55:30
that [ __ ] like i'm gonna be on a hot cloud here for a little while and this [ __ ] is banging like the
- 55:36
record's dope i remember buying the scratch magazine when prim and nas announced their album
- 55:42
in like 2003. you know what i'm saying so to finally end there hasn't been a real full record
- 55:48
since then so to finally get one that [ __ ] is amazing to me yeah shout out to preem
- 55:56
shout out to everybody on this project shout out to you parks of course thank you
- 56:01
some good [ __ ] on here yeah remy and rhapsody wayne rick i love the william rick record
- 56:07
and run the jewels record i like the whole the whole ep this is the first of uh a series of um
- 56:13
eps they're doing i think swiss is doing one i think mustard there's a bunch of people doing eps through mass appeal
- 56:19
that's hard yeah yeah this is volume one yeah preem's consistency over decades is
- 56:25
just brilliant yeah and the way i could say because it's recognized each
- 56:31
decade as brilliance right from the next hip-hop insight from the young
- 56:37
people young artists older people white people
- 56:43
across the board yeah across the board and to do all that with such a
- 56:48
dare i say low profile yeah but a profile of a man his age
- 56:55
that's incredible yo it really is and he does his own [ __ ] you know i'm saying no disrespect to any other
- 57:01
producers but a lot of people have production teams and stuff it once they reach a certain point he does everything hands on you know
- 57:07
even mixing we we sat at the board together he would hop up and do some [ __ ] i would sit down and do some [ __ ] you hop back up do some [ __ ] like
- 57:13
he's very hands-on it's not just yo i put my name on this and yeah y'all did all the 17 year olds did it yeah
- 57:20
yeah yeah no and i think was dope about prem i know people think i don't [ __ ] with it's not
- 57:26
true but what i think is dope is the ability to be able to almost i don't want to say reinvent
- 57:32
because he's still being him but to be able you know hip-hop has changed god knows how many times
- 57:39
to still be able to coast through here yeah you know what i'm saying that ain't a lot of people
- 57:44
can't do that nah no one i don't know if we've ever seen someone stick to a sound and have it be successful and still like
- 57:51
his style sound changes yeah you know what i'm saying like but it's still him it's still him he change he he adapts
- 57:56
his sound but still remains true to self and there's not many that could do that no working on four decades yeah
- 58:05
working with the biggest artist every decade like that [ __ ] is crazy shout out to prince
- 58:10
shout out supreme we love you preemie you're a legend yes thank you um in other drops uh we got yo gotti
- 58:18
with the uh cmg oh i didn't get to listen to this here how was it it was a law it was a long project so
- 58:24
i was already overwhelmed with all this [ __ ] that came out this [ __ ] looked like a kid that big in my life
- 58:30
this is a track one showing us man tv all right this was this was one of them yeah
- 58:37
exactly what when you hear when you know who's on cmg you're like okay they got money back yo estg 4-2 doug mozzie um
- 58:46
black like the entire roster what you would expect is what we got
- 58:51
and what i liked about this because i thought he was going to take a route that some of the other execs do with their compilations where i'll give you
- 58:57
like a couple records but this is really just all of my artists like you're going to get four records when i saw was a 27
- 59:03
track um project i didn't expect this many collabs
- 59:08
like you getting everybody on a lot of these songs as a fan of the last yogaty project will
- 59:16
i be a fan of this project or is this kind of different because i i'm not as familiar with all the artists on here
- 59:21
this is different okay as a fan of the gotti project this is definitely different okay this is i'm okay with different i'm curious because he let
- 59:29
each artist do their own thing be them yeah in the in
- 59:34
even on the the collab records it's like this is tailored a little bit more for you to kill it and you kill it
- 59:40
you know this one bag you're going to do what you're going to do we're going to let you this wasn't him trying to like impart the cmg
- 59:47
through his sound and vision on all his artists this is what i this is i know what we all do
- 59:54
y'all doing and i'ma tap into it and i'm gonna let everybody shine in the way we shine as this is the correct way to do a
- 1:00:01
compilation when you have a a big roster like that yeah i didn't hear it me either i planned on
- 1:00:08
a year ago but i didn't hear it and i heard they some some someone from this camp is
- 1:00:14
coming next week too okay like they're not playing they're not okay
- 1:00:20
um also we had lloyd banks friend of the show here we go lloyd banks i got to finally listen to the
- 1:00:26
project loved it loved it a step up from the uh the first course of inevitable
- 1:00:32
um but still consistent you know what i'm saying still kind of the same vibe dark dark heartbeats he's going crazy
- 1:00:39
any standouts uh my favorite was uh socialize first on first lesson
- 1:00:47
first lesson my favorite was power steering okay just direct with him and kiss yeah up you know a little bit murder one gets
- 1:00:54
you hyped like that alex but socialize is my one name everyone was hard too though murder one is heart yeah
- 1:01:00
socialize is crazy yeah socialize is my one off one and a half listens
- 1:01:06
i haven't listened to this yet because i was at the lloyd banks dinner last night
- 1:01:11
they played the album in the background i'm sure they were but okay i don't think that's the appropriate place to
- 1:01:17
soak it into it yeah yeah yeah that ain't really so elliot there shout out to elliott
- 1:01:23
yeah i saw ellie uh yesterday too at the studio shout out to ellie but another one i'll get to i got a lot
- 1:01:30
to do this weekend yeah you know this was a little jammed week uh and then rowdy dropped his album another friend
- 1:01:35
of the show another friend of the show and man that [ __ ] sounded dope yo yo listen listen i got to this one last out
- 1:01:43
of everything that dropped you know i had some of this stuff a little earlier but i played this one last
- 1:01:48
this is uh he smoked this album that [ __ ] was hard he smoked smoke smoked this album
- 1:01:56
like yo he really shout shouts to rowdy shouts to everybody over here i don't know epic whoever
- 1:02:02
they smoke this album they did they like really really good mixes good features
- 1:02:07
every features you know that's not even my bag i listened to half of it and i was so um i was like yo and then i got up
- 1:02:14
this morning and i tweeted i'm like yo there's no this album is so fire there's no reason i should be listening to this
- 1:02:20
at seven in the morning like this but i want to say what because i'm saving my takes for here i just bought it and yeah
- 1:02:26
but 7.99 bro that's what i just told you i got one
- 1:02:32
gripe and it's not even a fair gripe to have let's hear it when he was here
- 1:02:37
he gave me four records that he said was on there and my favorite one is not on here
- 1:02:42
that's it that ain't even a fair gripe to have that might have been one of the big samples
- 1:02:48
yeah but that's it and you still have the record uh yeah and this is you know what right hey look
- 1:02:56
and joe so you know how we get demo items yes so the new york record remember he
- 1:03:01
played we had that one it's the the mixed master final
- 1:03:07
demo itis when you hear an early version of a song and then the artist changed the song for the final and you're in
- 1:03:13
love with the early version of the song yes so what will happen when in that case
- 1:03:19
you won't like the final version because you fell in love with what you already previously heard so it's different
- 1:03:25
the final actually sounds better um
- 1:03:37
maybe my algorithm is [ __ ] up i don't be knowing that none of the drops
- 1:03:45
yo i have to literally when i open because i only go to the hip hop um category my algorithm should show me that when i
- 1:03:52
open i tools i guess it's me maybe because i don't stream as much or something yeah
- 1:03:58
category then scroll all the way down and click new in hip hop to see the hip hop releases they don't pop up on the
- 1:04:03
screen at all for me they should put the album in the c all when i click see all
- 1:04:09
looking for albums that should show all yeah it says all yeah but they you know
- 1:04:14
it's a game none of them are there i know what it is yeah yeah they're putting up who they want to put up and that's it yeah who who being paid
- 1:04:21
oh alex you already know the boy drop you already know the boy's drop and his heat the boy alone and is he that's the
- 1:04:28
one he was talking about he's like he's coming you don't know who he is man well yeah i don't know yeah i don't but now
- 1:04:33
all my legs is it's fine every song i've ever heard from i ain't heard a miss yet oh album yeah okay
- 1:04:42
man it's crazy i'm gonna check that's what i got
- 1:04:47
hey sometimes that's good enough yeah take my word straight to the point more more friends of the show drop
- 1:04:53
belly yeah belly drop to ep it's five mellie come visit us where's
- 1:05:00
maxwell cream and benny dropped a single and it's fire
- 1:05:06
and family of the show family of the show my brother ars dropped big jersey too man
- 1:05:11
albums jesus i'm telling you this was a stacked week right it really was a little low oh no yeah quiet all right damn
- 1:05:18
and there's a lot of people that we [ __ ] with like yeah like i spent some money i was like all right can y'all stagger this look at
- 1:05:24
all y'all getting out of beyonce smarter push that up push that up you're
- 1:05:31
all good make that call drop y'all getting the [ __ ] on
- 1:05:36
smart yeah ain't nothing else to do and you know neil dropped but neil's here
- 1:05:42
another friend of the show nothing we can talk to neil about his drop i just really want to ask about that lucky dish
- 1:05:54
um any more for the drops steve lacy dropped oh yes lacy dropped yeah it's fine steve lacy dropped i haven't heard
- 1:06:00
it yet but i have it a lot of [ __ ] music this morning you know there's a lot that came out we'll get them dry weeks where there's
- 1:06:06
nothing where we searching through the phones oh fabo dropped something or the one record little lucy
- 1:06:13
it's hard yeah [ __ ] did come out what want a lot did i buy something else let me just
- 1:06:19
make sure this was melody [Music] and it's impossible to listen to
- 1:06:24
everything because it dropped at midnight we got to come in here i will say the good thing about it is that a lot of it was shorter projects
- 1:06:30
just this look crazy who's this rex life raj yo [ __ ] with it trust me
- 1:06:37
look at it hold up hold up let me put this in my phone look at alex you did it right off the
- 1:06:43
album cover that's all you needed i'm pretty good all for telling what music i need to click sample on hmm
- 1:06:53
i have to try that i love that when i only type in three letters and he'd be the first name
- 1:06:59
that [ __ ] pop right rex oh this thing got joints
- 1:07:06
let me see let me see let me ross hey this nigga's a rapper nah singer oh
- 1:07:11
all right wait
- 1:07:19
oh y'all know i turned in my rapper card long long long ago
- 1:07:25
long ago that's so a bottle and say less last night looking rapperish he had a nice verse on uh on a big [ __ ] yeah
- 1:07:33
that was a good little time in here last night um what else is happening here oh that's it
- 1:07:39
that's it for the drops and now
- 1:07:46
yeah yeah we have the one and only the
- 1:07:55
it's legendary iconic one of the best hands and pins
- 1:08:02
of this generation arguably of all time huh
- 1:08:12
man oh man microphone check we also one of the biggest armed haters
- 1:08:18
in r b music [Music] boy can this guy hate on a woman in a
- 1:08:23
happy relationship wow grooving it time and time again on these records
- 1:08:28
we have neo in the building yeah yeah yeah yeah hey we all have used this to get a
- 1:08:33
little extra yes hey we want to thank you for this one personally yeah
- 1:08:39
this one did it oh man [Music]
- 1:08:44
[ __ ] putting all the dope lies in the record nah that's all [ __ ] that's it i'll leave
- 1:08:50
oh they singing along out there [Music] i asked the same question but i put a
- 1:08:56
little bit of manipulation on the front tell me you don't think about me
- 1:09:02
a lot of me tell me you don't think about me no more a little extra aggression yeah yeah you're right
- 1:09:08
we're honored to have you here neal i'm honored to be here brother ev every time every time i i hear your
- 1:09:14
name i'm just i just get proud bro just so what you've accomplished and what you've done man this [ __ ] is dope it really and
- 1:09:21
truly is it's inspiring thank you man save some of the proud i'm gonna kick ass in 2023. oh [ __ ] come on you have to
- 1:09:28
pour some proud on top of that extra proud extra proud on the side on the side
- 1:09:34
extra proud with a side of impress how are you i'm good i'm good i'm in a good space man the album is out you know what
- 1:09:40
i'm saying this is uh this is the first one in four years slow down oh nobody asked you about your album none of that
- 1:09:45
[ __ ] that's that's what that's what's currently going on in my life
- 1:09:51
what it is what you want me to say it's not where we're starting okay we won't start it all right you know what joe i
- 1:09:56
feel great i'm i'm in a good space you got to watch these mega stars that have seen nothing but huge success for ages
- 1:10:04
because it's like they got that [ __ ] in the tuck my album is here this is my fifth i feel really good
- 1:10:09
that's not what we own right now okay all right all right we want to start with
- 1:10:15
levels levels this is ice ice is a music lover music connoisseur
- 1:10:23
but he is rather new to the media game where he's in it okay
- 1:10:28
copy that nice paper so when your guy came here and brought your clothes
- 1:10:34
he didn't understand what was happening he was confused a little bit and then we explained it to him and he said wow i
- 1:10:41
never seen no [ __ ] like that and then i said well yeah cause it's levels
- 1:10:47
indeed so could you explain so you're like at you wanted yeah yeah put me on you want
- 1:10:54
it next to the label next to licensed by is your real name i think under there to a
- 1:11:00
degree no it's there i searched i searched it i checked it i bought the album and i checked it light flex so if
- 1:11:06
you have [ __ ] so so tell him about the level yeah i
- 1:11:11
need to know well i so so everybody all right we want to talk about levels joe you are you are at a a
- 1:11:18
rather higher level in this media thing than most uh i know that you do the audio as well as the video yeah so and i
- 1:11:24
know that a lot of people watch your [ __ ] yeah so i'm not going to come in here and look crazy so i made sure that
- 1:11:30
that the stylist brought some things for me to wear to make sure that i represented your show the right way and represented myself the right way in
- 1:11:36
front of your incredibly massive advice [Music]
- 1:11:41
everybody does not that is true everybody everybody does every some people are trying to lower it but skim
- 1:11:47
the budget i'll bring my clothes and book back yeah no no i just stepped off the plane i know what that life is i've been there
- 1:11:53
and not there anymore and i think you're doing a lot of press yes doing yourself that comes when you got a
- 1:11:59
lot of press to do see some [ __ ] show up in the same outfit they ain't doing but two interviews that day oh no not neo
- 1:12:05
got it now normally we hate the [ __ ] to do a lot of press but sometimes
- 1:12:11
it can be a really good thing like in this instance copy that because we've seen you all week
- 1:12:17
just saying [ __ ] yes all week long hey on the way over here
- 1:12:23
yeah yeah we've seen you guys you said some more [ __ ] that he was in the car agreeing with yup
- 1:12:28
what's up yeah i saw i saw where you said um you don't want to know you don't want nobody telling you oh shut up
- 1:12:35
that's been my [ __ ] yeah man i don't i don't grasp the concept of chasing the ugly truth i don't get it
- 1:12:41
like okay when you get the truth the horrible truth the truth that hurt that hurt the happy that you was feeling
- 1:12:46
before you received the truth what do you do with it now it's like everything's changed now
- 1:12:51
and then and then you think back before you got that truth to what you were and it's like i was happy i was getting i was going back here
- 1:12:57
but what if you're not chasing the truth what if what if what you're doing the watch comes down and rinse
- 1:13:07
that's a different situation if if the if the [ __ ] finds its way to me all right then i guess i was supposed to
- 1:13:12
learn it but i'm not gonna go searching for it and i feel like if you are my friend you will
- 1:13:17
not come to me with no [ __ ] that's going to interrupt my happy especially if you can see that i am genuinely happy
- 1:13:22
real [ __ ] don't mess with that let me let me let me be happy let me live in my blissful bubble of ignorance if that's
- 1:13:28
what it is to you it ain't about you i'm i'm the person that got to deal with it and if i was choosing this truth then
- 1:13:34
that's my truth so you're saying that your friend might not really be your friend if he doesn't believe that your
- 1:13:39
happiness should rest under these false pretenses yeah yeah pretty much that way
- 1:13:54
[Music]
- 1:14:00
no please please i i i want to hear that i'm not going looking for it at all i'm not going to look through your phone i
- 1:14:05
don't rock out what's your cop ignorance is bliss however if somebody brings it to my
- 1:14:12
doorstep i definitely want to know now what you just said no no he said if
- 1:14:17
somebody knows don't tell them you know i said if it finds it you're my man don't tell me
- 1:14:22
because you're saying what if you're my man tell me oh okay like you got what i'm saying
- 1:14:28
like if you was sloppy enough to get seen caught whatever by my man or you fumbled the ball and they got through me
- 1:14:34
through the back channels i want to know i'm not gonna go find it but i definitely want to know because then now i can make my own informed decision but
- 1:14:41
your happiness is interesting i was happy though true you don't care i was in a happy little bubble okay yeah i
- 1:14:47
don't you just [ __ ] my whole bubble up all right so let me ask you a question and we're not staying on this particular
- 1:14:53
question all right so let's just say hypothetically your significant other is
- 1:15:00
having unprotected sex she would never you are there by putting
- 1:15:05
my life and our future in jeopardy by doing so i need to know that but we can move
- 1:15:11
along i feel you i feel you no [ __ ] that but there's i mean there's a there's a lot of
- 1:15:16
conditions on that i don't know if i don't know take that i'll just scrub it off myself start getting skinny out of
- 1:15:22
nowhere
- 1:15:28
straight away um but that's not what i wanted to ask about hmm
- 1:15:34
all right let's talk about it what do you want why you did that lucky day man what you mean no come on leo come on
- 1:15:40
real quick what did i do to lucky that why you did that look it sounds like what you did you know what you did the lucky day oh
- 1:15:45
please tell me what i did to lucky day tell me how i harmed lucky day in any way shape form fashion oh you just added
- 1:15:51
a word i never said i didn't say harm him but you might have harmed him i don't know okay tell me what i did to lucky
- 1:15:57
day because that's what you volunteered that story that lucky day story on album
- 1:16:02
release week yeah why'd you do that
- 1:16:08
why why did i do why not it wasn't it wasn't like i had it in the tuck like all right today i'm out lucky no it wasn't nothing
- 1:16:14
like that it was it was a conversation and it just came up and it was what it was i don't think there's anything wrong
- 1:16:20
with it it is what it is you know we've we've talked since then we've we've hashed out whatever difference it was i mean it was ten plus years ago like i
- 1:16:27
ain't shipping it is what it was just a funny story is he tripping i i don't think so but you don't know i certainly
- 1:16:33
hope not i mean if so lighten up him it's all good come on you got grammys now chill
- 1:16:39
ah you can't do that no no see here's our function here's our function had i
- 1:16:45
signed lucky day who's to say that he became lucky day maybe that [ __ ] was supposed to happen
- 1:16:51
i think i think i look at it like that i don't think there's any such thing as a coincidence or an accident that happened the way it was supposed to happen so
- 1:16:57
that he could become who he is right now not saying that i made him in any way shape form or fashion okay we're trying to flip [ __ ] cut it out what i'm saying
- 1:17:03
is had that situation not happen the way it did who's to say that he would be the grammy award-winning lucky day that we
- 1:17:09
know today true i understand with that being said you're welcome pimp
- 1:17:18
also hey if any y'all out there got a story like that about me i don't agree with that
- 1:17:23
don't add me into it keep that [ __ ] out of
- 1:17:30
gotta know that nah man that that dude gotta know how i mean i'm no harm limitations too i think
- 1:17:36
i i don't know yeah it's ten years because my brain goes to if everybody in the business
- 1:17:42
started doing that and that looks like a purge that looks like a purge episode to me if everybody just started oh my god
- 1:17:50
anarchy i am more than certain that there are a few stories floating around the industry that would work in a funny
- 1:17:56
setting and i'm more than certain that there are a few stories floating around the industry that just ain't supposed to see a lot of day i don't think that that
- 1:18:02
story falls in that category i get it i'm with you shout out to lucky day track i'll pick
- 1:18:09
his music up dude's dope back to your music yes indeed i love it thank you sir appreciate it
- 1:18:14
you've told me this before i i appreciate i appreciate it no but i mean the new project okay okay i have heard
- 1:18:19
the new project last week i like it honest opinion the whole thing you got you got favorites
- 1:18:26
got something that you could do without what you thinking i like to jeremiah and uh trippy red records personally really too that
- 1:18:31
i grabbed it yo that really shocked me that i was not mad at trippy red like that shocked me that that was a
- 1:18:39
joint for me that was one of the more interesting ones that came to be like i ran into him at record plant in in california and uh
- 1:18:47
we just you know walked out of my room he walked out of his room we met in the hall and he's like yo i'm a fan and i'm like oh okay like i didn't expect him to
- 1:18:53
say that but he told me that uh was a video game so it's a video game that he used to play uh not not grand theft auto
- 1:19:00
but something like that where you could drive around in the car and do hood rat [ __ ] with your friends but you could play the radio in the car and he said he
- 1:19:06
would play my songs on the radio in the car as he rolled around and killed people in the game and i was like that's
- 1:19:11
thanks i really appreciate you so from there
- 1:19:16
he's like yo we got to do something together and i'm like what what does a neo trippy red song even sound like so i
- 1:19:22
was like yo and does that line work on neo still right right hey guys you got
- 1:19:27
to do some [ __ ] the streets i ain't opposing working with nobody you know what i'm saying i i i feel like i
- 1:19:33
could do something dope with anybody i'm pretty sure you've had some situations come across you're like oh yeah we'll do
- 1:19:38
that absolutely i'm not going to do this that's definitely happening and i'm sure you got a list of [ __ ]
- 1:19:43
you think is trash i i won't deny that yeah and i won't ask about it but i also
- 1:19:48
don't deny my ability i know that i could take a trash [ __ ] and make them hot i know i could do that i've done it before neil's that dude
- 1:19:55
the neil is the man there we go i say that with zero ego i'm i'm speaking facts
- 1:20:01
i like i like what you and blue did both of them yeah man shout out to the boy blue i like that i [ __ ] with him a lot
- 1:20:07
he's dope he's dope and he got he got more [ __ ] in store like i don't think people know they're really grasping yet
- 1:20:13
just how dope that kid is like like his his pen is his pen is something serious peripheral now i i have i have two to
- 1:20:19
that skip but i was driving so i don't know the names of them but love the intro i love the berg record
- 1:20:27
i like it in runs like the first four five six is dope oh the seven is dope yeah the two i'm talking about is later
- 1:20:33
but then it ended the way i knew it was there was one or two there's like a little poppier towards the end or something yeah yeah yeah i like it
- 1:20:38
that's just gonna be the right place right time you know i gotta i gotta feed my entire fan base right now i have the
- 1:20:43
rv fan base the pop fan base dance fan base so i got to make sure that everybody get something can you can you
- 1:20:48
speak about the difficulty in trying to trying to do that um because your audience is why you're
- 1:20:55
trying to you're trying to please all of the people all of the time and everybody know that that's somewhat impossible or
- 1:21:00
at least that's what everybody thinks i don't know i think i do a pretty good job of it though to be honest i don't feel like there's any one part of my fan
- 1:21:07
base that that doesn't feel like they get what they need especially when you don't drop for four years though like it'd be different if you drop three
- 1:21:13
projects a year you could do one dance album one whatever you know split it up but if you take four years you got to
- 1:21:19
cram it all into one project well i mean that's kind of always been my mo anyway i always felt like if i could get my r b
- 1:21:25
folks my pop folks and my dance folks all come to the same concert i'm winning as opposed to hey this week
- 1:21:30
we're doing a dance concert all right this week we're doing the r b concert damn that let's just everybody come to one big show
- 1:21:36
how tough is it uh being as long tenured as you are to avoid uh
- 1:21:45
repetitiveness or creative boredom creative boredom is harder to avoid than
- 1:21:51
repetitiveness to be honest with you uh i'm not a trend follower i've never been
- 1:21:56
a trend follower uh i can recognize and identify when something has changed or evolved into something else but uh i'm
- 1:22:03
not the dude trying to become that you know i'm saying i know i ain't 25 no more i know there's some things that some of these cats are saying where if i
- 1:22:09
was a say it or do it i would look [ __ ] nuts so i don't you know i'm saying i'm always going to be who the
- 1:22:14
hell i am i'm just going to take what i am and apply it to whatever whatever situation i'm in or whatever song i'm on
- 1:22:20
whatever song i'm doing you know the first the first joint for example laying low with the boy is a friend shout out to zay france new cat doing the r b he
- 1:22:27
killed it oh yeah oh yeah dude is dope you should check you check out his music he's dope he's he's one to watch but um
- 1:22:33
this was his record initially and it was just one of the ones that i really really liked and i'm like bro hey
- 1:22:39
will you let me put that on the album and he was like yeah i was like you know all right you know you know what matter of fact i'm gonna keep your verses your
- 1:22:44
verse i'm gonna keep your first senior hook on it you say oh all right cool and it just came to be it wasn't it wasn't me trying to
- 1:22:51
be cooler than i am or try to be something that i'm not i just i just took the neo and applied it to what zay
- 1:22:56
does in the realm of this record and that's that's how i thought that's how i rock
- 1:23:05
for this particular project it does seem like like i'm a fan fan you know what i'm saying so
- 1:23:10
um for this particular project it does seem like you went off on a little
- 1:23:16
tangent to incorporate the new sounds like a few of these songs aren't
- 1:23:21
neo-esque if for lack of a better term production why you talking about nah just the sound
- 1:23:26
overall okay like some of the newer [ __ ] some of the newer poppier [ __ ] it just seems like you might have tried to
- 1:23:32
incorporate that into your [ __ ] like you say you'll hear what's going on and you'll move or evolve to or acclimate to
- 1:23:38
what's going on and get out a little bit to the newer people to a degree to a degree i i don't think that you can be
- 1:23:44
a music person and ignore what's happening in the world i don't think that you could do that i feel like and i
- 1:23:50
feel like you're comparing my new stuff to my old stuff and my old stuff is just that it's old stuff like everybody has
- 1:23:56
to evolve you have to you have to you have to evolve you evaporate shout out to usher i heard him say that first not
- 1:24:02
stealing usher's lyrics but that was a dope quote he's dope quote but it's true it's true you have time is
- 1:24:07
going to move music is going to change and evolve whether you like that or not and you can either
- 1:24:13
you know hold hold strong in what you feel and what you like and what error that was as time keeps moving on without
- 1:24:20
you or you could jump on and move with it now again don't mean you have to change who you are you just have to acknowledge
- 1:24:26
what's going on around you you just have to be aware of your surroundings that's funny that sounds like that is me being aware
- 1:24:32
of my surroundings that's what it is i had the opposite take from you ish and that was kind of impressive to me as i
- 1:24:38
was listening i was like oh [ __ ] i can hear neo in these now you can like to me the first few
- 1:24:45
were the newer like the song with the douze all of that was kind of newer sounding
- 1:24:51
i think when i got to like seven down that's when neo came out
- 1:24:57
hmm that's when the vibe changed yeah like from like seven down that's when you're trying to say
- 1:25:02
you gotta get i get what you're trying to say too like i understand it i think it's more of like a production thing to me
- 1:25:07
snares and just snare drums yeah well this this is also one of the first albums where i actually uh
- 1:25:13
intentionally uh worked with some some younger writers you know just trying to just again trying to catch different
- 1:25:19
vibes different different elements different sounds and whatnot again i can i can only be me i don't know how to be
- 1:25:24
nobody with me but i but i can i'm versatile and i can apply me to whatever
- 1:25:30
so so yeah i mean i don't i don't take that as i don't take that as an insult at all no not at all i like the project it's dope though thank you brother no
- 1:25:36
but that's that's genuinely me just being aware of my surroundings and going okay all right this is this is a vibe
- 1:25:42
that survived i survived i've never tried these before [ __ ] it let's give it a go if it works it works if it don't
- 1:25:47
nobody ever has to know what happened these happen to work so how often do you work with other writers being a such a
- 1:25:53
prolific writer yourself and how do you work with other writers it is isn't it's new i'll say so um you should let me
- 1:25:59
love you mario's you should let me love you i wrote that with scott storch and uh my man cap um we all we all did that
- 1:26:06
together so that's that's one of the few co-writes that i've done uh you should my you should let me love you i wrote
- 1:26:12
that with sia um normally how to happen is like for sia for
- 1:26:17
example when i came into the session she had to hook late already okay let me love you and i will love you until you learn to
- 1:26:23
love yourself and i just went in and wrote the verses just co-write yeah we didn't sit down and like create the whole idea together and toss ideas back
- 1:26:30
and forth that sometimes is difficult for me because my my process is in is internal right right you know sitting
- 1:26:36
and watching me write a song is gonna be the boring [ __ ] you ever did in the world because i'm literally sit still for like 30 minutes and then i'm getting
- 1:26:43
the boof and i'm gonna run the joint down you know i've had to learn to take my process and bring it on the outside
- 1:26:48
so i'm sitting in a room with you know with these young writers you know shout out to corey mckell uh shout out to the
- 1:26:54
boy zay you know his pen is dope and it's like i'm watching how they do their thing and it's like it's it's it's
- 1:26:59
external you know it's it's a melody and then a dude will be like oh yeah i like that what you think about this that's
- 1:27:04
what you think about this line no no no no it's like i've i've never done it so you don't like going and do the reference melody and then write the
- 1:27:10
lyrics later you go in and with it basically once i go in the booth i pretty much got at the very least a
- 1:27:16
verse in a hook done like first half of the song is finished before i before i even touched the book are you doing that in 30 minutes i was
- 1:27:22
about to say you want to let me love you in 30 minutes 30 30 minutes an hour if it takes longer than an hour i need to
- 1:27:28
step away and do something else and come back damn damn man the writer in you has to
- 1:27:33
be looking at these uh catalogs and publishing being sold off
- 1:27:40
for these astronomical numbers i see it what do you think when you see it um
- 1:27:48
i don't think anything i think congratulations to that to that writer he got some money um i feel like if you are a writer then you
- 1:27:55
got more songs in you you know i think chris might have did it the smartest i've ever seen it done i mean i don't know if that's the reason that he did it
- 1:28:01
but it makes total sense how do you do it if you sell off your catalog and then create a new one oh one album 43 records
- 1:28:07
brand new catalog bang you know what i mean like one shot that was smart as hell but i i i feel like if you're getting
- 1:28:14
what you if you're getting what you're worth then yeah you did why not why not especially if you are a writer
- 1:28:20
you can continue doing it you can read you can re-up your catalog you know read that thing up and sell it again especially that's what you're supposed
- 1:28:26
to do younger if you're a younger person oh yeah yeah but i mean the cool thing about songwriting is that if as long as you can keep up with the times you can
- 1:28:32
write songs forever i can be 95 and write a record if if i'm keeping up with the times and again that's that that
- 1:28:37
speaks to being aware of your surroundings not not trying to be something you're not but just being aware of your surroundings
- 1:28:44
you know people talking a little different now people people do it a little different all right well they tick talking you tic talking nah really
- 1:28:51
not really perfect i ain't mad urge you to be a tick-tock yes yes they all have the whole team
- 1:28:57
i mean you we can't deny the importance of it that's the unfortunate truth you can't deny tic toc is important it's
- 1:29:03
breaking artists it's it's breaking records it is what it is i just personally feel a little silly
- 1:29:10
i personally just feel a little silly with that but i have no issue with somebody taking one of my songs and
- 1:29:16
creating a little tick tock to it like because of you is charting again that's for my second damn album and because
- 1:29:22
some little kid decided to go and create a little dance to it everybody caught on this because he was back up there like all
- 1:29:28
right cool i have zero problem with that but don't ask me to so much get on there and
- 1:29:33
create no that's super dope all right yeah excellent thing chop up all of these moves he's doing
- 1:29:39
and that's gonna be your tick-tock yeah we'll do it before we get there we just get that you're gonna take it off please isolate that as long as my percentage
- 1:29:46
hit me i'm straight this guy is good so listen here
- 1:29:54
uh a group of us right get together sometimes and play monopoly
- 1:29:59
okay one of my techniques in monopoly uh and not techniques but just what we
- 1:30:05
do in the game is we'll change a rule we'll invent a rule and attack a rule
- 1:30:11
the wording of the rule like we'll get to the bottom of a rule right in the event to change some [ __ ]
- 1:30:17
or misdirect one of the results i bring it up to say this to you
- 1:30:24
versus yes when you did it
- 1:30:29
it wasn't what it is now at all true there was no performance aspect
- 1:30:35
actually that versus you did with jaunt they might not even let john to touch the
- 1:30:41
stage we wasn't even in the same way we i don't even know we was in the same city when we did that yeah no it was straight
- 1:30:47
off off the ig situation but i'm saying today i don't think they would allow a writer to get up there and
- 1:30:54
yeah do what he did too i think it might depend on the writer though because jonte is jonte is a
- 1:31:00
writer but jonte can sing like jonte get up there and sing the records that he wrote but they might not hit like the actual performer who's gonna if you play
- 1:31:08
something by a little if an elite they can't promote that yeah oh yeah they can't promote that yeah oh yeah i don't know
- 1:31:15
i mean they did once i don't know i feel like i feel like if they did it one second for that reason
- 1:31:20
if i were neo i say that should be stricken from the record and that match doesn't even count today
- 1:31:26
and i need a new battle we have actually had that conversation but the stump wait who won it
- 1:31:34
the stump is who who would you put me up against who would you put me up against
- 1:31:43
who would i see they got this thing where they try to keep the talents in the same era
- 1:31:49
and that would be tough i actually do know who i'd put you against oh
- 1:31:56
trey songz yeah okay um i see it
- 1:32:03
i mean who else from that era could stand there and we could never figure out an
- 1:32:09
opponent for him because who else could stand there in that era and the reason for that is because it was dumb two
- 1:32:14
[ __ ] in the era of course you had uh lloyd chris i mean you know who else was there
- 1:32:24
but just with a strong ass 20 yeah that would be tough that would be tough i'm not opposed
- 1:32:29
honestly i i'm not opposed to anybody who whoever it is they figure out they're gonna get the same spanking right it's 20 records it's 20 records
- 1:32:36
look that's that's look where you hear them y'all
- 1:32:52
it's a light flex i don't gotta i don't gotta do that he said what he said um i've been here almost 20 years i gotta do that i gotta do that
- 1:33:00
your favorite album of yours uh oh you know what and and uh so it's my
- 1:33:06
favorite but it's not my favorite because i feel like it was my best it's my favorite because one of my idols uh
- 1:33:13
basically helped me help me not feel the way i felt about it initially so libra scale was my fourth
- 1:33:18
album it was right after year of the gentleman and uh at the time it was my worst performing album
- 1:33:24
you know one i mean i just multitude of reasons why it didn't work i was trying to do trying to do [ __ ] that i didn't know what i was doing i told i told her
- 1:33:31
i told the label i wanted to do like a little mini movie and have the album be the soundtrack to the movie i didn't
- 1:33:36
know that in the world of writing scripts a page equates to a minute so i said a 30-minute movie i
- 1:33:43
i gave them a script with four or like 147 pages in it oh [ __ ] because i'm just
- 1:33:48
writing i have no idea i'm just writing a story right and they're like uh yeah this is not a mini movie this is this is
- 1:33:53
a feature film and we're not paying for this so i had to take that 140 some of my pages bust it down to 30 by the time
- 1:33:59
i did that time is clicking we ain't got time to cast it film it none of that so then it turned into what was supposed to
- 1:34:05
be six long-form videos we got the three videos dev jam pulled a plug like that's too much money you know more money for
- 1:34:10
this [ __ ] and it was done so the album came out didn't do didn't do real real well but i got invited to prince's
- 1:34:18
grammy party that year oh yeah so i'm i'm i'm floating because of that
- 1:34:24
princess prince is one of my guys i got five guys and prince is one of my guys uh michael jackson prince stevie wonder
- 1:34:30
sammy davis jr marvin k like if i could take these five people and meld them into one person so that is
- 1:34:37
who i've always aspired neo you can hear it you know what i mean so i hear a little [ __ ] boy boy a little
- 1:34:43
bit about you definitely especially in the earlier stuff yeah i'm going to definitely hear them too
- 1:34:50
so we go to the party it's uh we're in the the the pool house and i thought it was just the coolest [ __ ] ever because
- 1:34:55
we're literally standing on top of the pool it's like a plexiglass through [ __ ] on top of the pool so we're
- 1:35:00
standing on the pool he's on stage with his band just just rocking out he sees me
- 1:35:06
puts his guitar down beeline straight to me gets right up on my ear and says
- 1:35:11
libra scale was a good album and don't let anybody tell you different shows and walked off yeah [ __ ] out to me for the rest of the night
- 1:35:18
didn't say nothing else prince can read your mind you know what i'm sure
- 1:35:24
about that
- 1:35:35
so that so that's my favorite for that reason that's a hell of a reason word wow
- 1:35:42
yeah man any more stunt stories you can drop like that
- 1:35:47
your stunt story oh man that was awesome light flex story get the [ __ ] off prince
- 1:35:53
so prince prince don't talk a whole lot well at least he didn't talk to me a whole lot like every time i saw him he had like a
- 1:35:58
phrase for me and that was it uh we threw a grammy party one year and uh prince and stevie wonder showed
- 1:36:05
up to the party now so so mind you my my assistant comes to me and like yo um
- 1:36:11
prince and stevie wonder is at the door and i'm like did you let them in
- 1:36:18
why are they still at the door i came actually if you don't let them mention what the hell is you doing yes let them in so they come in princess in
- 1:36:25
on one side of me stevie want to sit on the other side of me i'm i'm sitting there like i what the hell do i say that was a [ __ ] trying to get around to
- 1:36:31
these people or get fired what you want me to do with them you want to go want to do something with
- 1:36:36
them no but thanks for your devotion
- 1:36:42
pink slip now but um straight away now so so i'm at the time i'm drinking uh vodka cranberry so i
- 1:36:49
take a sip of my drink and i set it back down and i look over and i catch and i catch prince's eyes it's like like he
- 1:36:54
was looking at me and it's like like one of those right so he says what's that
- 1:37:00
[Music] vlog of cranberry i love it everybody
- 1:37:07
i'm sitting this close to him he says come here so i lean over and he gets right here
- 1:37:13
and he says [ __ ] is bad for you your pressure's right y'all
- 1:37:30
vodka in front of this man get this out of here that's awesome make me another winner
- 1:37:37
that's [ __ ] nuts that was that was a that was a moment i bet it was a moment yeah i've had man i've had some moments
- 1:37:44
i can i can honestly say if i just sit down and think about just the last damn to 20 years i've had some some amazing
- 1:37:51
moments to the point where if it ended tomorrow like i might i might be all right i would ask about all of them but you're married
- 1:37:58
i would i would ask about all the moments i wouldn't even talk about those moments
- 1:38:04
but oh man you you ain't gonna get me in trouble with my wife hey never hey baby never hey he's married that married i
- 1:38:10
know this i know the game congratulations we're also birthday twins really yeah october 18th yes sir
- 1:38:15
see libras running the world on the low we don't tell people libras don't tell people because you know people because you had a bad experience with a libra i
- 1:38:22
did not i had a beautiful king with a libra oh where did we go i just know about leaving you'd be spicy with the libras sometimes i don't like that [ __ ]
- 1:38:29
i know about libras a little bit what what's what's wrong with us nothing exactly exactly
- 1:38:35
none at all i love you guys we're on the same page are you still are you still playing video games yes yes i'm waiting on street fighter 6 come on
- 1:38:43
street fighter up to number three fighters up to number three i thought they'd be higher than that but now yeah they take the time what's street fighter
- 1:38:49
street fighter 2 street fighter 2 ultra street fighter 2 extra alpha and then you get three then three ultra
- 1:38:56
extra yeah so they had six yeah and i'm anxiously awaiting that one is that what you did
- 1:39:01
for the last four years i want honestly play video games um uh yeah i played a lot of you guys now with my kids you
- 1:39:08
know i you know what the quarantine and the whole pandemic thing sitting in the house you know me and wifey just not
- 1:39:15
liking each other in the moment but it's like we we we in the house in this quarantine this covert thing is
- 1:39:21
happening it ain't really giving us no information so i was like all right if i'm gonna die i'm gonna die here if that's if that's what it is like again i
- 1:39:27
have no idea what's going on we did the last season of the the world of dance tv show with no audience which was just the
- 1:39:33
weirdest [ __ ] in the world at the time like with like no there's no there's not gonna be nobody forgot about that check when i was pocket watching i
- 1:39:40
forgot about that oh yeah i forgot about that world of dance yeah yeah who else is on who else
- 1:39:45
is on them me j lo and derrick oh okay got it got it
- 1:39:53
all right so you understand i got it i get it's levels levels in degrees levels and degrees hot
- 1:39:59
and cold up and down why you did that though man why you did that it's why you did
- 1:40:04
that just now you asked me a question all right let me uh you're in the crypto let me just try to get this out of here man netflix
- 1:40:11
hey all these [ __ ] come around starfire i got to work harder you in the crypto any of that [ __ ] uh a
- 1:40:17
little bit a little bit i don't i don't know enough about it to say that i'm in it too much
- 1:40:22
it's it's a lot it's and then just recently didn't didn't all that [ __ ] just like dip yeah like ridiculous but i
- 1:40:29
don't even know what happened with that one mill two mil then it dipped yeah the other [ __ ] is about to kill himself
- 1:40:38
nfts all right man what are your real thoughts about christianity and its origin [Laughter]
- 1:40:47
uh nfts uh i'm saying a little bit same thing same [ __ ] in it a little bit i don't
- 1:40:52
know enough about it to be like yeah i'm i'm in it you know i know cast this is retired at 20 something off the
- 1:40:59
situation if you do it right this is some money to be made i just i i still don't completely grasp the concept of
- 1:41:04
spending that much money on something that i literally can't touch with my hand you know that that kind of don't make no sense to me but
- 1:41:11
i can't tell people what to do with their money yes do you see what your contemporaries
- 1:41:18
sean stockman and tank have been saying about
- 1:41:23
the current state of r b uh some of the hurdles that an r b act
- 1:41:29
has to go through today to get a song played uh he even got into the label bless you
- 1:41:35
some some of the label views on r b and the content in r b he said
- 1:41:42
something like uh oh he was speaking about him singing sam smith's song stay with me and he said if he were to sing that song
- 1:41:49
it wouldn't be played the way that it was played because he's a black man singing about keeping the family together and today in r b that's not the
- 1:41:57
message that is pushed to the mainstream at least by a black r b artist but he
- 1:42:02
said a lot sean is saying everybody sucks pretty much
- 1:42:08
sean is saying what the [ __ ] has gotten into you guys where's the heart the soul the spirit
- 1:42:13
the feeling the merit all of that [ __ ] like what do you say about that i know you don't necessarily
- 1:42:18
feel like that cause you work with a lot of young younger acts and you adapt to the new sound but what do you think
- 1:42:25
just about that messaging today in r b um i i i gotta i have the utmost respect
- 1:42:31
for sean stockman and tank let me start by saying that so he's coming no no no no no
- 1:42:37
i would need to read what sean was saying before i before i commented on it because i don't even completely know what it is got it got it got it got that
- 1:42:43
uh tank has has you know constantly let let his voice be heard about how he
- 1:42:49
feels about the state of r b today and just always championing in r b and and i i dig him for that
- 1:42:54
um i don't know man i i you know what i agree in the realm of the the sam smith situation i feel like i feel like had a
- 1:43:01
had a black artist saying that same song it might have not got to look that's that's the truth i think taking nothing
- 1:43:07
from sam smith because he's amazing but i think that the reason it happened the way it did and the reason it happens
- 1:43:12
like that when it's a you know quote-unquote white artist or whatever is because it's kind of the the systemic
- 1:43:17
anomaly like sam smith is a really soulful white dude so you know it's it's not it's not the
- 1:43:25
norm so to speak whereas a really soulful black dude singing a really soulful song all right well we we we
- 1:43:32
know what that is we see that we get that but here comes this white dude this british white dude yeah i think he's
- 1:43:38
british samus this british white dude singing with all this soul this is this is this is a an
- 1:43:44
oddity to people to a degree it's like this is something to look at this is this is a car on fire on the side of the street you're going to slow down for
- 1:43:49
that you're not going to slow down foot kids playing in a park you see that like we see i've seen that before is this
- 1:43:55
it's just kind of how did how it's built you know what i mean it's it's the same situation with adele taking nothing from
- 1:44:01
adele because she's amazing she is exceptional yeah she's the exceptional
- 1:44:07
quote unquote white girl with all this soul and it's not it's not a normal thing so yeah people are gonna pay
- 1:44:13
attention but if jill scott were to sing the same song it might not get as big a look just
- 1:44:18
because okay a black woman singing a soulful song like we know what that is we seen that so i i feel like i feel like
- 1:44:25
you have to kind of factor that in but then at the same time man a hit is a hit is a hit and and you know it's to a
- 1:44:32
degree it's undeniable like once once ago it go and and you just gotta
- 1:44:37
keep shooting your shot bro like i i don't really i don't want to get caught up in the the excuses as to why things
- 1:44:44
aren't what they are or or whatever the case may be i'm gonna just keep pushing and try to figure out what's gonna work
- 1:44:49
as opposed to complaining about what's not working because we'll sit up and have that conversation all day and it won't nothing change we'll just all
- 1:44:56
right now that we've all discussed what doesn't work what now damn it like right
- 1:45:02
present problems without solutions i guess a more direct question for you because i agree with everything you're saying like
- 1:45:08
why bother with that why not work on solutions and being forward thinkers but do you think the ballot is dead
- 1:45:16
i don't think the ballot is dead i think the right ballot is going to come around and remind people why we need ballots i
- 1:45:22
don't think i think that for a long time we haven't been reminded as to why we need ballots the ballot was the tool of
- 1:45:29
the vulnerable r b singer and that was a thing at one point it was it was a thing to be
- 1:45:35
vulnerable it meant something to be vulnerable it was the you were better as an r b artist the more vulnerable you
- 1:45:41
were it was baby baby please and then singing and crying in the rain and whatever you know i'm saying that's that's what it was for 50 years for for
- 1:45:49
a long ass time yeah and then all of a sudden hip-hop becomes the most popular music genre in the world
- 1:45:55
and then all music gets a hip-hop makeover now we got trap country records now we got you know i'm saying
- 1:46:00
everything kind of has that that heavy drum or that cadence on it inspired by hip-hop including r b so now
- 1:46:07
we got this new generation of r b cast coming up they're not looking up to r b dudes no because it because it ain't
- 1:46:13
none it's they looking up to the rappers because the rappers is the one getting all the attention getting all the girls getting all the money you know
- 1:46:19
apparently visually visually yeah so all right and and mine mind you all the rappers are singing too
- 1:46:26
so yeah as a r b dude i'm if i'm growing up and i'm looking up to drake if i'm grown up and i'm looking up
- 1:46:32
to little baby as opposed to you know when it was me we i had i had boys man i
- 1:46:37
had jody i had jagged edge i had so many different outlets to get to like feed my
- 1:46:44
r b soul but it's like nowadays or at least or at least i say the generation like right after me they didn't they
- 1:46:50
didn't so much have as much r b the feed they sold it was it was a lot of hip hop and hip hop inspired stuff and that's
- 1:46:56
why the music kind of took the turn that it did i think that's the reason that r b is so so uh uh so macho right now like
- 1:47:03
everybody's so damn tough you know what i'm saying except for like the alternative kind of more frank oceans
- 1:47:10
yeah that's that's that's what you see that's this whole other thing but as far as quote unquote mainstream
- 1:47:16
traditional yeah traditional is i don't even know if that's the word no more because what's
- 1:47:21
traditional if it's if it's supposed to change and evolve true what is traditional that's just what it was that's just how
- 1:47:28
it was done then oh [ __ ] you know what i mean and your granddaddy's music ain't your daddy's music ain't your uncle's music ain't your music it's always
- 1:47:34
changed and evolved that's that's not new right that's right you know we're just we're our uncles now like man that
- 1:47:40
ain't real music we him now i tell the followers that all the time i said to our parents
- 1:47:46
like yo this [ __ ] is noise what is this ain't real music this is the sound can evolve but the message can
- 1:47:52
still be traditional like you're talking about the vulnerability that's been since
- 1:47:57
before any of us in here been born true you good i'm saying true so now but why is it not the thing now because of
- 1:48:04
the messenger society yo i just think society not to be all db but i just think the
- 1:48:10
young black dudes growing up doing r b they growing up looking at some [ __ ] yeah yeah i'm
- 1:48:15
saying like they just growing up looking at some [ __ ] and yeah they've changed coming across the women have changed to a degree you know what i'm saying this
- 1:48:22
is now it's vulnerability now is it it ain't even so much to do that you got to worry about talking about just the women
- 1:48:27
too like girls are nuts [ __ ] like it's it's tough now they're tough and and i i i feel like
- 1:48:34
women don't understand the power that they have in the realm of this whole music thing like don't you know ladies
- 1:48:40
don't you know if y'all decided that y'all was only gonna listen to that how many cats would flip around and start doing that because that's where y'all
- 1:48:46
are like like you want to talk you you you want to complain about a man singing the
- 1:48:52
word [ __ ] or whatever the case may be but when the song come on and you and all your girls jump up and start
- 1:48:57
twerking that's not telling that dude that you don't want to hear that that's telling them the exact opposite so what
- 1:49:03
makes you think that more of that isn't going to happen if uh the other cast is looking to see all right well when the a
- 1:49:09
[ __ ] [ __ ] you song came on everybody got up and started twerking all right well we'll hey [ __ ] [ __ ] you too hey me too part two part three yeah that's
- 1:49:16
that's that's how that happens now if y'all decided you know what we don't like this word we don't like this this
- 1:49:21
music we don't like being called this or treated like this and stuck on it dudes would have no choice but to switch
- 1:49:28
up mm-hmm give the ladies what they want well what what we give you all is what y'all are kind of showing us y'all want to start a revolt i'm hey listen i'm one
- 1:49:36
man with an opinion i'm entitled to it it's not special everybody got one this is mine do you think music benefits if we were
- 1:49:44
genreless i don't know if we could ever be genreless it's kind of what humans do we
- 1:49:50
we compartmentalize we put things in boxes it's how we how we compare and contrast i don't i
- 1:49:56
don't know if there could ever be a genreless music it's it's everything is basically let me not say something let me not say
- 1:50:03
music radio and the corporate entities attached to music
- 1:50:11
if they were genreless not music because you're right we would need to identify [ __ ]
- 1:50:18
yeah um like what if high 97 could play country
- 1:50:23
for an hour oh okay what you're saying without ramifications without well without ramifications kind
- 1:50:30
of kind of blankets the whole thing is if there's no if there's no ramifications then what difference does it make yeah just do
- 1:50:36
what you want to do nothing's going to happen that's what no ramification means it means nothing happens so if nothing
- 1:50:41
happens then yeah play whatever the hell you want i think the fear is that something will happen if hot 97 decided one day you know let's
- 1:50:48
play country for an hour like what what would that hour of programming look like as far as viewers like everybody would
- 1:50:53
have to start relying on their music and how good it is true true to a degree instead of hey
- 1:51:01
there's only such and such amount of country songs dropping next quarter here let me drop this country so instead of pandering to different it would just be
- 1:51:08
the quality of the sound of the music yes music but but who's so who's the gatekeeper then who's the one that says
- 1:51:15
i want to get that term out of hip-hop i swear i didn't and this ain't like i'm just saying who who's the person that does [ __ ] ain't gate hebrews could
- 1:51:20
they play a song they're not no then how does the song get played
- 1:51:26
that's not true who decides what who what song gets played all right well what's a gatekeeper now we start there that's not true whoever it is that's
- 1:51:33
whoever it is that's programming the radio whoever it is is saying all right this song is getting played this song
- 1:51:38
isn't and that person's opinion that's that's yeah that's what radio is it's one person's or one group of people's
- 1:51:44
opinion of what they feel like music should sound like based on their radio station if they were those are the
- 1:51:50
gatekeepers if they say no it's no if that if they were gatekeepers then you wouldn't have
- 1:51:56
entire communities of rappers birthed from other places there are soundcloud rappers
- 1:52:01
there are youtube rappers it was mixtape rappers just any way to get your start going
- 1:52:07
around radio so what is gatekeeper somebody that one restaurant there's so
- 1:52:14
many different restaurants yeah okay over here this restaurant got gatekeepers these this restaurant it's a person in here telling you what you can
- 1:52:20
and can't eat that's just what that is now that ain't to say that you can't go over there and try to make your own
- 1:52:25
plate and you know by the grace of god you get some success and all right now you can make whatever the hell you want you can eat whatever the hell you want
- 1:52:31
but if you want to eat over here you got to listen exactly not just that
- 1:52:36
but that's not a good that's one place why are we titling that one place called
- 1:52:42
radio true that's something that's bigger forever because you're talking about sound cloud the reason that the joker's
- 1:52:48
got to go to soundcloud to circumvent not getting played on the radio now mind you i'm not saying that this is right i
- 1:52:54
couldn't disagree more i'm not saying this is right but this is what it is okay so if there's no gatekeepers in
- 1:52:59
radio then how come everybody's [ __ ] don't get played but i didn't say there's no gatekeepers in radio i said
- 1:53:05
that that's not a gatekeeper that should be called something else let me ask you this so he said yo because when you say
- 1:53:11
gatekeeper that leads me to think that you are either letting people in or
- 1:53:18
out or stopping [ __ ] right yeah yes i get what you're saying you're doing it at the radio
- 1:53:23
that don't stop nothing to me but you're gonna be a radio thing they don't stop nothing
- 1:53:28
in fact it's the opposite they're now playing catch up to digital yes they're still there but they cannot exist today
- 1:53:34
without a digital arm know why that is because for a long time they thought they was gatekeepers and they was the only thing moving and shaking no they
- 1:53:39
weren't getting the same way they were gatekeepers and what happened is they made people find another way around you
- 1:53:44
know what they are yeah i'm talking about today they're all right they're dartmouth even today it's the door at the club
- 1:53:50
that take his job way too seriously yes yeah you can come in and you can't come in he ain't gonna real power but he's gonna he gonna abuse this right here
- 1:53:57
right like i could choose just not go to this goddamn club to hell with you and now y'all now all your power's gone now what [ __ ] you that that's that's that's
- 1:54:04
the the quote-unquote gatekeepers of radio right two decades two decades ago you couldn't get a career without radio
- 1:54:10
so look very true to to piggyback on your point so now that same uh
- 1:54:16
club doorman who won't let nobody in now we go find another club this club popping now we don't even care if we
- 1:54:22
can't get in your club we came over here up the street to this club we made this club popping
- 1:54:28
you i totally agree that's why we don't call that guy the gatekeeper we call him the doorman at that club
- 1:54:43
is something standing in the way of you getting in or out another person preventing that from happening that
- 1:54:48
person
- 1:54:58
you can hate the song when you first hear it but because they are blasting it in your head they're probably 15 minutes you
- 1:55:05
start loving the song so somebody else's song that didn't get that
- 1:55:10
explaining this to me no yo dawg somebody else that didn't get that same level of access now gets shut
- 1:55:16
off to the world hearing that song every 15 minutes so they don't reap the benefit to that so today all of you say that the radio is a gatekeeper still i
- 1:55:23
say that there are gatekeepers in radio i i've never said that that the importance of radio hasn't dwindled a
- 1:55:29
little bit based on digital and all of that but the truth of the matter is there's still cats and radio that decide
- 1:55:36
who gets played and who doesn't and that person that person's how is that decided can you speak to
- 1:55:41
that um i mean i i honestly can't i'm assuming it's the program director okay
- 1:55:46
right the program director decides yeah it's the program director pro directs the program i think they do um
- 1:55:53
it's a call when you get uh focus groups i think they do that a lot of that kind of thing see how something at least
- 1:56:12
so by that theory or or by that definition do you believe that it's even possible for an artist to be blackballed
- 1:56:18
today uh i don't know about all that i feel like well i mean yes in order for an
- 1:56:25
artist to be blackballed somebody with some power has to be like no not that person right
- 1:56:31
and at one point in time that was the gatekeeper at radio no we're not playing
- 1:56:37
that no right but now we have digital now we have soundcloud now we have all of these other places that this person
- 1:56:42
could potentially go to get their song played can reach an audience on their own an audience find them so now this
- 1:56:49
cat is selling out concerts and he never had a song on the radio can you blackball him it is possible
- 1:56:58
what happened now is all these other avenues and outlets the labels got in bed with them too
- 1:57:04
your soundclouds and everything the labels say okay it's popping over there we gonna go over there and now they working with us they just did what they
- 1:57:10
did at radio the labels are playing catch up okay i found a way around y'all found a hole in the fence okay guess
- 1:57:16
what now we over there by the hole in the fence you still have to play with us that's how their labels are treating it so they
- 1:57:21
can still blackball you to an extent two percent they just make it harder they'll make it harder it's not impossible
- 1:57:26
because now it's not just that one avenue you need it before if you couldn't get it in radio you wasn't getting it right now it's so many
- 1:57:33
different lanes that yeah we blocked you at radio we might have made it harder okay oh we got you over here you can't
- 1:57:39
get on the playlist now over here at the dsps without playing with us we made it harder you can still
- 1:57:45
navigate we just made it a little harder for you but to completely cut somebody off no i don't think they can do that i don't
- 1:57:51
know if that's the thing i don't think you can do that today because now you have direct you have direct yeah consumers is literally going out and
- 1:57:56
finding their own and figuring out figuring out what they want to listen to themselves nobody can come in and say don't listen
- 1:58:03
to that and and you listen to them like that's that's not i don't i don't know who has that power anymore but like like
- 1:58:09
you said i don't think that's the average consumer and i think that's where streaming came in and i think that's where the labels ran and got
- 1:58:15
embedded with the streaming dsps like you know what yeah the that small percentage that's going to go out and
- 1:58:20
find their own cool but for the masses we're going to tell you you pay me 9.99 and we give you all of this right here
- 1:58:26
and we'll show you these playlists and show you what's hot show you what's new show you what you should like we got algorithms that's going to make it for
- 1:58:32
you and we're going to put who we want you to listen to so thus we are still gatekeeping
- 1:58:38
you said you said that you've done some wild things in the past
- 1:58:43
and i'm a great guy so i don't care about any of that but i do care
- 1:58:48
about the future so i will ask you what is the wildest thing remaining on your bucket list
- 1:58:54
remaining on my bucket list um damn because i can genuinely say i've
- 1:59:00
i've checked off a lot of them disclaimers
- 1:59:06
oh i thought he was about to say i can literally say i've done everything on my voice oh my gosh i've done a lot of jesus i've
- 1:59:12
done a lot of it this is it ain't no it ain't
- 1:59:17
do you need to add to your bucket list i do actually i do actually yeah yeah cause my bucket list initially was to
- 1:59:24
win a grammy sell a million records beyond bt 106 in park like this is my bucket list initially and then once you
- 1:59:30
do all that it's like okay um climb a mountain ah jump out of airplanes you know uh
- 1:59:38
spend the night at one of the big castles in dubai with a sheet kid or shake or whatever like it's it changes
- 1:59:43
as as time progresses and as you know as you level up your your bucket list levels up so where i'm at right now i
- 1:59:50
um i would really have to sit and think about something that i just really wanted to do that i haven't i would have
- 1:59:56
to release and think about it i'm blessed brother it's a blessing i'm blessed it's a blessing that's this
- 2:00:01
guy's great i don't have anything else for you no no
- 2:00:07
congratulations on the new album thank you sure appreciate it appreciate the love
- 2:00:18
i have done nothing but answer your questions with absolute honesty and if that seems a little flexible
- 2:00:29
ladies and gentlemen the amazing [Applause]
- 2:00:36
hey hey nice joints on here it is
- 2:00:44
brand new album in your phones right this very second [Music] and if it's not search for it you know
- 2:00:50
what they be doing in there
- 2:00:56
thank you appreciate the love brother always hey thank you bro oh man that was great it really was yeah
- 2:01:03
artists stunned it all i can't wait till more of you come by here to tell you that you don't sound like
- 2:01:08
you used to this guy nah that's fire man
- 2:01:15
as a when you were like a that's his god that's what i said and i didn't end that wasn't what he said
- 2:01:21
that's what i said when you're a fan of somebody yeah go straight up yeah if you're asking what i said
- 2:01:28
don't get stiped sorry moving on come on come on i could come come on with y'all [ __ ]
- 2:01:33
yeah when y'all get all visibly spicy mayonnaise uh where do you want to go
- 2:01:38
you're telling us about the euro and dollar being the same it's the same the euro and the dollar it's the same now explain that to me what that mean
- 2:01:45
it means you don't have to send your london [ __ ] extra money when you're tricking on them
- 2:01:55
skip my question well i asked one first oh okay
- 2:02:02
nah for the first time in 20 years the euro on the dollar is the same might be time for a little euro euro trip
- 2:02:07
typically um the euro used to always be well in the last probably decade have been like a
- 2:02:13
dollar and a half so what they're saying is um they saying it's
- 2:02:18
the looks like a worldwide recession as opposed to just a united states
- 2:02:24
recession okay so something to keep your eye on well i've seen a lot of people like you just said park saying like yo that mean it's
- 2:02:29
time to take a european uh europe trip mm-hmm like why because you used to call it you doubled
- 2:02:35
double that you went over there if you if you go to the united states with a 150 dollars u.s money no if you
- 2:02:42
go over there that's what i mean you go to europe with 150 us dollars yeah it's a hundred
- 2:02:48
dollars for their money okay so your dollar didn't stretch over your dollars a peso
- 2:02:56
[Music] but no you wouldn't you know what i'm saying like you wouldn't get as much
- 2:03:01
bang for your buck is there is there a place where if i take my i thought he was well traveled you know who i think i thought he was
- 2:03:07
gonna thought he was true i thought he was tripp take a seat yeah he's been to
- 2:03:20
don't take euros well maybe they do they'll take whatever they take pesos
- 2:03:26
but look ish so just i wouldn't get off this but just i don't know i'm just asking um is there any place that if i took my
- 2:03:32
hundred us it would equal more than a hundred yeah everywhere in the world
- 2:03:38
except like europe europe okay london's a different currency also
- 2:03:44
yeah oh and you can't bring don't you this don't apply for your liberty card what the [ __ ] is a liberty card it's a
- 2:03:50
liberty card yeah what's that [ __ ] is you talking about the liberty card is on that song like
- 2:03:56
the rush card that was a rush guard that was the [ __ ] down oh what's my man name russell simmons
- 2:04:04
no [ __ ] here liberty is a real company it's just one of them it's like spirit
- 2:04:11
i ain't never heard of that spirit airlines yeah but for cards like when you want to get your credit up they give you two hundred dollars on the card
- 2:04:19
stretch this out take this don't stress this out for the month [ __ ] come back we're going to increase your limit after
- 2:04:25
seven good payments i went in this door one time oh my god
- 2:04:30
the girl looked at you i'm starting laughing maybe um maybe i am down with you
- 2:04:37
i might be down with you i don't even know what that means fam what that would mean what regular it don't matter
- 2:04:43
it don't matter you wanna talk about this though i asked y'all to play i asked y'all to play uh gm before and we did that but
- 2:04:50
with the next jazz story heating up i'm gonna ask you gentlemen again
- 2:04:56
who do you side on who do you side with here and how do you think this will play out
- 2:05:02
for those that don't know the jazz are asking new york for me
- 2:05:08
y'all statue of liberty they asking for everything state building it's reported
- 2:05:14
you know you never can trust these sources but it's reported that they're asking for six first-round picks that's
- 2:05:20
crazy topping quickly grimes and mcbride and allegedly pick swaps
- 2:05:27
that's crazy that's a little rich
- 2:05:32
six picks this the the the draft picks are what made it insane
- 2:05:39
six first-round picks with all those players that is insane fam i would have gave him the players i would have gained
- 2:05:44
the picks out yoda game six picks in arby's never take the picks you're not getting yeah take the six picks you're not gonna
- 2:05:51
get six future first-round picks we got we got picks we got picks
- 2:05:57
not the picks i'm not giving you my whole bench no that's my whole bench and the picks you
- 2:06:04
can't you could get one of quickly or grimes because those are my two shooters and one of them is a three and d guy
- 2:06:10
that we're grooming uh in grimes and he's kicking ass in summer league and you can get one of
- 2:06:17
topping or mcbride and then i'm throwing fournier in here but you're not getting my four those are my two last draft
- 2:06:25
classes yeah and the next picks and the next six yeah i would have gave
- 2:06:30
him them [ __ ] danny ainge i just uh yeah i looked at this and i
- 2:06:37
thought this was the just the effects of the rudy gobert [ __ ] i mean he dig up that market though yeah
- 2:06:43
yeah if you see if you okay that's what's happening out here all right i'm gonna say something we did this in 2012.
- 2:06:48
this is danny ainge my thing is listen this is how i feel
- 2:06:54
i know danny ain't just reputation but i don't feel like the jazz have leverage in this situation at all i'm glad that
- 2:07:00
nick hung up that phone on him donovan mitchell was signed for four more years you are clearly in the middle
- 2:07:06
of a rebuild you don't want him now you had the element of surprise with
- 2:07:12
rudy but the whole league know that you don't want donovan mitchell on your team you gave away royce o'neal
- 2:07:19
you're giving away people there's a fire sale in utah we've been tracking this for a little second now yeah you caught you actually and that's cool
- 2:07:25
but on the flip side of that there's nobody else for you to negotiate with
- 2:07:31
not a one it's miami out there that you talking about are you leaking the reports i love
- 2:07:36
hero they leaking a bunch of reports to try to raise this up yeah you don't love hero and them picks
- 2:07:42
you're not gonna come over here and minnesota try to get seven and eight picks and then go to miami and take hero
- 2:07:48
duncan robinson and two other picks that's one two the miami draft picks ain't worth no [ __ ] be good
- 2:07:55
the heat gonna keep being good dumb draft picks ain't gonna get that deal done and if they won draft picks you know pat
- 2:08:01
riley got a call cause i'll never doubt pat riley you gotta call okc and normally you'd be afraid of that but
- 2:08:08
guess who's on the other end of that line sam presti this is the sam presti and danny ainge
- 2:08:13
rule i don't see it i don't see it and i'm super glad that the knicks are
- 2:08:20
not negotiating against themselves [ __ ] y'all six picks you could have
- 2:08:26
and three players but only one of them players gonna be my one of my young boys yeah i'll give you
- 2:08:31
derek rose eric fournier one of my young guns make too much money no
- 2:08:37
i said they make too much money oh no jazz would have to throw in jordan clark jordan clarkson yeah right
- 2:08:42
you're right there's a fire sale there's no such thing as here right i don't see it the way you see it but
- 2:08:48
because i think i think the rudy gobert pick um letting him go for them was great
- 2:08:53
the kid that they picked up is gonna fit right in where he left off not a problem they picked up the boy
- 2:08:59
from armor he's gonna fit in right where rudy gobert left off right there three-time defensive player of the year
- 2:09:04
yup you'll see the boy from auburn you gonna see you're gonna see i'm gonna see and you
- 2:09:10
don't even know his name [ __ ] out here i don't gotta know his name i know what he did walker kessler and he gets busy
- 2:09:16
and he punches [ __ ] and he's better offensively than rudy gobert by far so i think that they got that off with
- 2:09:22
the rudy goldberg trade i just i i don't see where they're gonna go if
- 2:09:27
they give away donovan mitchell because you now you don't have a floor general on the floor leader so i don't even see where quigley and none of them wouldn't
- 2:09:34
have did it for me either like i would have gotten into where they're going to go and they're actively trying to lose games in front of your
- 2:09:39
face who was actively trying to lose games last season no i mean
- 2:09:45
right now we'll see they go go out there with the painter as the floor general
- 2:09:51
they don't give a [ __ ] we'll see if they win one game they don't care and they got picks and their own picks um
- 2:09:58
i mean again we just have faith in danny ainge rebuilding uh the jazz but certainly not on leon rose's accord
- 2:10:07
what about um but i do like the nick's new strategy of wanting players and going to hire
- 2:10:13
their dads that's absolutely fire yo you want to
- 2:10:18
work at the mets yo tampering joe yo you want to work at the mets
- 2:10:23
it's tampering man yo what you think about deandre you got paid boy
- 2:10:29
no he didn't yes he's not the biggest deal in history oh yeah he signed it you got 133 over
- 2:10:34
four or something right he said yeah no uh whatchamacallit indiana offered i know they matched on this game
- 2:10:40
in three minutes in history that's crazy
- 2:10:45
why do i care about this because i i thought indiana was one of
- 2:10:50
the places that donovan mitchell would end up they just got rid of a point guard
- 2:10:57
so him over there makes a ton of sense you saying nobody won't take him indiana takes him in a heartbeat
- 2:11:06
i'm saying i'm not saying nobody will take him i'm saying that no one has the
- 2:11:11
draft capital and young prospect to take him and i don't know what indiana is doing
- 2:11:17
brogdon left uh they've been trying to trade miles turner for
- 2:11:22
sardines for about a year and a half now i don't know what they got going on over there
- 2:11:28
but i'll never believe in the pacers it's been a while even though they've been at the fate of many of the
- 2:11:35
knicks demises they've had a couple good squads a couple good runs just got beat out by some of the
- 2:11:40
greatest teams in history whatever [ __ ] them
- 2:11:48
[Music] all right gentlemen
- 2:11:55
[Music] great pod today
- 2:12:00

- 2:12:06

- 2:12:42

- 2:12:48
least [Music] the baddies are insecure the stagnant women want to travel the closed-minded
- 2:12:54
women want you to teach them things and the young girls have fake ids card them and make them put their phone in a
- 2:13:00
little box before they come inside the hotel any fun weekend plans anybody
- 2:13:06
