the street party like was just a DJ out there. There were acts but we got there like late like 8:00 and got

so um but it it was great. I didn't know it was that big of a deal in Jersey. Jersey be having some stuff. It was cool.

Monair speifically. Yeah. Yeah. I definitely live in the wrong place. And then we uh and we took we decided to

uh take some of um those uh when y'all be fighting and stuff. I I sneak in the fridge and take out the um the beverages

and put them in my car. And I took the the the the THC beverage.

Yeah. We took them at the at the festival. Yeah. We didn't make it to your house, dog. We we barely made it home.

I was like, there you go. I was like, and I know how the Lamar Hills party.

We had a good time. System, you know, I mean, they partying. It was up. But like, yeah, we was like,

yeah, I took advantage of the night. Yeah. Hey. All right. That's Dr. Freaky Talk.

Drink. talking freaky talk. I took advantage of the night.

Crazy. That did sound wild. But yeah, but yeah. Oh man. Yeah. How about the rest of y'all? Good

weekends. Yeah, it was a good weekend. Um I I went to go see uh The Long Walk.

Oh, it was good. I I liked it. I liked it. It wasn't I didn't like the end the last

three minutes, but it didn't ruin the entire movie for me. It was something different. I didn't see how it was going to go. I liked it. And then after that,

we shot over to Joe's for the uh for the kickback. Okay. What What didn't you like about the ending? It just left questions for me. That's

all. I don't want to spoil. I I still had questions afterwards. You saw it, too, right? Yeah.

That's all. I like I I I like a movie that close up. There's no part two to this. So, there were still questions. I

wanted to know what happened afterwards. You wanted the white boy to win. No, I ain't care about that. I just

They start they started around the same time but what it looked like Netflix threw another fight in there. Yeah. That's what it looked like.

I midnight and still had start. Yeah. There was still another fight dog. That fight started close to 12:45.

Jesus. That's the main event we talking about. Main events did not start at 12 because they added another 12 and then

you depend on what the under fight used to start. Was it like like 11 12 late? 12:45 just seemed late.

It's late. It is late. It's late. It was too many with the undercard or or the undercard might go the distance. You

know what I'm saying? Like typically [ __ ] start getting knocked out on the undercard. So it'll be shorter fights. A couple of them cards went they

was good fighters. Like I needed to take a nap. So for the kickback, I done invited people over there at 9:00.

Uh 9:30. Yeah. Even people that got there at 10:00. This fight ain't coming on till 1 in the morning.

That [ __ ] was different, bro. I ain't like that. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think people I had a little bit of kickback. People didn't probably show up till like 10:00. But

then I did realize that I looked down and it was 5:00 a.m. all of a sudden. I was like, "Y'all got I'm going to bed." Like, "I don't know what the [ __ ] we

doing still." See, that's how your kickbacks stop. [ __ ] are still there. Yeah.

5 a.m. We were all just chilling. Like Parks and Rim are party heads. Were. Yeah. Clearly.

Although Rem was having a readathon, so she wasn't down with us in the party. A readathon. A readathon.

A readathon. Her and her friends got together and read for 24 straight hours.

It was interesting as we're having a [ __ ] fight party in the basement drinking all types of Macallen whing

out. That's interesting. I'm about I was about to say that might be some you [ __ ] I didn't want to start like that. I want to kill the literacy up here.

No, I was about to tell Paul I'm about to join a book club. That' be dope. That's dope. Or actually start a book club. That's dope. That's dope. Y'all could even read the

really a good fight. Did it in the way I don't know a lot about boxing so I did it I mean people seem to be saying

Crawford was going to win anyway but was it more looking at the scorecard it looked like it was somewhat competitive like how did it

it was comp the scorecard but Bud won outright for sure but it wasn't like

he won convincingly it wasn't Yeah he won convincingly but it it wasn't not interesting. It was a good fight. Canelo had moments where it

was like tried. Yeah, he tried. He tried. I had it

84. No, I had a closeup. 75. I had a closeup. Oh, wow. We had a closeup.

Yeah, I think some of the rounds they was giving Bud wasn't really. I I think what happened in that fight, nobody got

hurt. True. Like nobody ever got hurt, but No, I disagree with that. It It was most

probably one of the most uneventful fights even though they was throwing a bunch of punches. Oh, no. It wasn't Yeah, it wasn't Did

you see the fight? It wasn't a snooze the whole entire fight. The fight before was uneventful. I think they I think that Canelo

couldn't get to him. He couldn't hit him. He couldn't He was frustrated. And I think um

it just wasn't an exciting fight for me. I think most people what most people loved about the fight is that they

fought they didn't avoid each other. They they took a couple of rounds to do the size

up, get a download of what each other's doing. I think it was round four when I looked at Cory who had Canelo and said,

"Uh, okay, Crawford seems to be gaining confidence." Yeah. And by the time it got to six and seven,

Cory was in denial. He He was in denial in the living room. And as it continued, uh, word is that

they told Bud in his corner after the ninth round that, "Hey, we think you're up, but

you need you need to fight in these rounds." And he came out and did just that. He did a great job.

He he looked he looked like he wasn't affected by Canelo's punches once he felt with that power hit for. It looked

like he was faster. It looked like he had better boxing IQ. Canelo looks slow.

Super slow. He looks slow. Not even remotely. Like he looks slow as [ __ ] bro. That one time when

Do it matter if you get $95 million? No. I mean, he's he's rumored to have got above 50 $150 million. I would have

been a snail in that [ __ ] Yeah. I don't give a [ __ ] No, I'm just saying. But as far as the

fight goes, like I don't think it was a compelling fight because at no point in the fight did you think Canelo could win

after you saw how slow he was like Bud was seeing that [ __ ] coming a mile away. Like see it was compelling to me cuz I was

sitting there waiting for the knockdown now. Like towards the end we was still we 12th round we was all like

the Bud was on 15 15 seconds more he's touching the ground. Oh wow.

That's what we was all saying. It was one. It was one. Well, no. That's what you and I were saying. It was one left hook that And when he

ate that left hook. Yeah. I was like, "Yo, he can't knock him out." Cuz that was the punch that was going to

knock him out when he spun his head back and he stood there. He ain't bobble his leg. He just spun his whole head back.

You just hit me with Yeah. The looks he was giving that [ __ ] That was what you call an eight

punch. I'm not call He was surprised. Hey, what the [ __ ] was surprised? It

wasn't just that one that's going viral. He looked at him a couple of times. Yo [ __ ] bro. He did. It looked like he looked in the crowd

for his parents after after some of them punches. No, after some of them punches, he was looking for

his wife, medical aid. What is he urgent? Mr. Beast. Yeah. Where is Mr. Beast? Only one of

those boxers looked like they could have hit the club. They could have went straight to Waffle House afterward and nobody would have batted an eye at all.

Canelo. Canelo looked like I just got paid $150 million to me. But his face his face did

look his face started getting red and [ __ ] up in one more round. One more round in that fight and I believe that he would

have hit that canvas. I mean in fairness bud got his eyes cracked open when he got that accidental headbutt. Yeah. But black healed

different by the end of the fight. Whatever had happened it wasn't so visible to me. One

one of the things I liked about the fight and I again I didn't watch it but I should say the post fight was I watched the press conferences and they

they seem to both be like they show so much respect for each other. Oh for sure. And it was a great interaction and at the end of the press conference I when

Bud Crawford was being asked I said Bud Crawford was the uh Terrence Crawford

nickname. Oh got you. Okay. I'm not a boxing person so you you got me. No I'm talking about online I don't know

boxing. Um he um Mark not knowing the sports audience never stops him from talking about the

sports. I ask questions. I'm not that's the thing I'm not talking about. I'm asking so y'all can teach me. Um I try not to

talk about things I don't know about. Um he said that he was being compared to uh

Floyd Mayweather and he said he is the best of his generation. I'm the best of my generation. Is that fair? Is that is

that is that accurate? I would say that's true. It is. Okay. I I don't know where but where where Crawford ranks among his

generation's boxers. Well, that fight kind of that did it. That fight did it. Like I said, left. I

think the Errol Spence fight did it for me. The Canelo fight it just I still Yeah. It's just his money time.

His money time, fam. I think the Spence fight was the fight that solidified. But to me or any other doubters that you

know what I'm saying? Like he beat the [ __ ] out of Errol Spence. Those was the two. Yeah. A lot of people said Spence wasn't

Spence. No, I think he made him look like he wasn't Spence. Well, that's what the other half of the

people said, but they questioned Spence coming out of that uh coming out. There

was a lot of questions with with him. Uh Canelo is Canelo whether he's old or not.

[ __ ] you're young in a Crawford. Didn't look like it, but he is.

And his last few fights, Canelo look like [ __ ] Yeah, he has. He has looked like [ __ ] in the last the last couple he was fighting guys that were a lot taller than him,

longer reach, all that type of [ __ ] He looked like [ __ ] He did. Is this just a cash grab or is it I don't Or is it I don't know. I'm I'm

watched. No, I think it's a cash grab. I don't think it was a fight. I don't think it was a cash grab. That's

a fight. Okay. Yeah, he went in there to fight. He wanted to win this fight. Yeah, that he just couldn't.

He just couldn't. He was out. Like when he fought Floyd, he was outclassed. Yeah. Yeah. Out. That's all.

Gotcha. They snatched the belts from uh Canelo. Little man that was dancing. All that dancing he was doing with the belts

behind Canelo. Run it. Give me that [ __ ] Hey boy, give me those belts. And Bud

Crawford gracious enough to give the personalized belts back to Canelo.

That was fire. I'll wait to get mine. Like I thought a lot was fire. Uh I thought Canelo won the the the

ring outfit. Oh, now I like Merry outfit a lot better than that Off-White [ __ ] that uh

that Bud had going on, but I get it. I love Bud's entrance. The tool threw me off a little bit. The

band Tool. That was interesting choice. Very much. I was trying to figure out what the

connection was there. I think they said that he they said he came out to that music to make fun of the uh UFC fighter that's been going at

him. So, there's a UFC fighter that's been going at him. That's his interest. That's site your sources. the people online.

There's a UFC fighter that's been arguing with Bud Crawford or trying to and they said that Bud came out to his

music. He even responded online and said, "Yo, he came out to my song." Got it. Okay.

Okay. Also, when they asked Bud about what you're saying, Bud's response was,

"I've never seen that guy fight before, so I don't know what his music is."

Bud's explanation is I'm paying homage to my Mexican fans and this is inspired

from Desperado. No, that part I got Mexican. I got I'm talking about the the heavy metal band

tool before the band. It was a band like a white rock band that played first. Yeah. Desperado scene music.

Bud is saying he don't know homeboy intro. So I don't want us to put that and call him a clout chase. I saw that

part as well. Yeah. But him holding the guitar case, that was fire. Yeah. All of that. All of

that. All of that was fire. All of that was fire to me. And good to have good to have a big boxing match that

your Saturday night is now. I like sports being back. Me too. Football. It bought them out. It bought them out.

It bought everybody out. Oh, there you Yeah, it bought them out. Yeah. No, there was a lot of people

there. Oh, for sure. For sure. Made for a fun Saturday night. I think 74,000 something like that.

That's amazing. Yeah, it was a stadium. Football stadium. Yeah, but the Stars was out. You know what I'm saying? Like magic. Like the

the A1 Stars was in the building for sure. I think I like that too. I It reminds me of the '90s. Like I used to watch boxing in the

' 90s with Mike Tyson all up until like the Roy Jones era. I used to watch it and I think the world is better when there's when there's good marquee

boxing. Not just exhibition fights, not just like people not not just like the Tyson Mayweather stuff that's going to happen that we'll watch, but like real

competitive fights. Seems like it's just it's just fun to watch. Agreed. Yeah. I gotta shout out the second fight

of the night. That was a great fight. That was a great fight. MB Lee versus Homeboy. The fight that they called a

draw, bro. They was rocking. That was a draw. Like that was a draw. That was a real draw. It was no fight

[ __ ] each other up. That was a draw. They got busy. They got busy. They was fighting fight. That black dude didn't didn't he he was moving forward

the whole fight and he was getting hit with some [ __ ] and he just kept coming moving forward. They was bro. That was a good fight. The

fight after that was an absolute snoozefest. That's what made me appreciate the Bud Canelo fight even

more because again that that fight before that damn near put us to sleep. Uh Vargas's son. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Vargas [ __ ] was And we had good fight party food. Yeah. How was the food? Let's get to the

real [ __ ] Food was great. Collard greens. Rice and beans.

Turk turkey wings. Turkey wings stole the night. Keto made potato salad and

chicken wings. But it was it was good. I ain't never had a turkey wing that tasted like oxtails. I'm keeping it a I

don't know how else to describe. I told you I don't know. Okay, my bad. Got it. My bad. Sorry.

Yeah, I had no issues on the uh technical end of mine. Yeah, they fixed all that time. Yeah. Yeah, they fixed all that since that

money back on. Okay. Some people gave him a hard time about that. I thought it was pretty clever. I thought that was super funny, man. And

he ended up long, we kind of knew this was going to come cuz what happened was it was very much in the red. He's like,

"Actually, the Boy and Girl Club is going to owe me some money after this." He ended up donating I think $300,000 or

something like that out of his pocket at the end of it all. But it was a funny trope throughout the awards. I found it to be hilarious.

And of course, my favorite one I picked up on it was Hannah uh Ein Bender. Uh Sure.

Yeah. You know, she said, you know, like Oh, I thought that was a clip. Uh as she accepted award, she kind of acknowledged

that she was going over and said like, you know, I'll pay the I'll pay the the cost. Oh, yeah. And then she screamed out screamed out.

Which is dope. So, I appreciated the shout out. I always appreciate when people are courageous at award shows. And I thought it was funny, so good for

of the calendar year. Uh this says Molly has been an integral part of ESPN since 2006 and a key driver

of First Take success since joining host a decade ago. She elevated the show with her poise, skill, and professionalism

while supporting others as a kind and encouraging teammate. We respect Molly's decision, wish her the best in the

future, and thank her for her extraordinary daily commitment to sports fans and ESPN. That comes from Burke

Magnus, the president of content at ESPN, and that is a politically correct

way to do things. That's what we want the tea, right?

And what we have from the T is they offered her a contract, she declined it

and we have not heard from her since. Uh I turned first take on yesterday morning. It was no sign of her and

Stephen A gave some sort of an address like to hear it. Here it goes. Not only

night she will be departed from ESPN. She's hosted First Take for 10 years and

elevated the show with her grace, her expertise, and uncomparable kindness.

She's been an enormous part of our success for a decade. Not only did she keep me and many others in line, she did

it with dignity and class and kindness to say the least. We'll miss her and

wish her every blessing on her future. I personally am grateful to her for her

friendship and I will miss spending every weekday morning with her right by my side.

Now that's not now that's how that's done. What' you say Mark? Yeah. Am I taking notes on that?

If one of us were to depart to be able to write something like that. I thought this was very well said if that's what you're asking. Stephen A

does a great job with that man. I had no words. You know because a lot a lot of time Yeah. Look when you do that stutter thing he

business where you tend to age out, especially for women, one of the bosses came came in.

Molly is is is an Molly is an exceptional journalist. uh and did a great job on first take and

and again she was there for a lifetime which says a lot because again they will replace you they will swap you out two years five years particularly for women

a lot of times they get younger people they get you know cuz they use you as ornaments a lot of times she was one of the few people I think that actually was

able to leave a footprint on one of these shows where a lot of times it's two dudes arguing with each other and a woman is just there to

to kind of keep the trains running on time. She actually was able to weigh in and we got more of her input than than

most people and I think it's a testament to her to her talent. So, I'm excited to see what happens next for her, you know,

whether it's a podcast, whether it's a new network, whether it's her own thing somewhere else. I'm curious to know what it looks like. But I wish her nothing

but the best. That's one thing I got to give Mark. You going to always look good standing next to me, boy.

again if if they made a lowball offer after 19 years. The other piece to that to me is that she um they do that to

make you leave. They make you offer that you they know you won't take to make you leave. Um that's typically what they do at this

stage in your career. Do you do you think people age out of network jobs? Do you think there's a moment where or do

you think depends on on the network particularly for sports? No. Okay. So you Okay. Cuz some people

said that with Pam Oliver too. they've done it with James Brown where they're like, "Yo, we just tired of we we want somebody else." I think there's a resurgence of young

uh female voices in sports. And I think that recently just started happening with the Taylor Brookses and the Leica

Andrewses. And that's that's a recent thing, but typically I don't see those

pe uh see people age out of sports. Yeah. Like

Peter Vessie, Lesie, it's a bunch of people. Sports is still one of those places where the

journalists the journalists are thriving. The people that have been writing for this newspaper for x amount

of years, they're they're it's usually gendered. It's usually like dudes can be old doing a job, but they often want younger women next to them.

I also think that your your your sports knowledge is relevant. So I don't you can replace

me with a pretty face, but they can't necessarily sit with the fellas and talk sports jargon and all. That other [ __ ]

is valuable, bro. Like again, that's why me and you was having a Doris Burke take. Like Doris Burke sits there and

talks basketball like she's been around basketball for 40 [ __ ] years. You

can't just replace her with somebody young that can't necessarily speak about the game in a in a manner of what she

does. So I don't I don't think that that is ESPN has been shaking [ __ ] up for the last couple years now, too. So I mean

this kind of falls in line with that to me. Yeah, that's true. I It's tough with ESPN because there's only one competitor. Like if you lose a

job at CNN, you can go to MS. You can I mean there's like you can name a list of people to go to. If you lose a job at ESPN, that's so scary.

FS1 is kind of the only other place to go, which then leaves you in a [ __ ] up bargaining position. I don't think that's true.

Well, say more. I mean, everybody has a sports league. There's Fox Sports, there's CBS Sports,

there's bar stool. You can Oh, you talking about Okay. There's There's other places. You're not just stuck between FS1,

college, uh volume. I was thinking like TV network. I'm talking about like network jobs and like

CBS and ABC and all them have sports wings but that's like when they're like ESPN is 24/7 so there's a lot of jobs

FS1 is 24/7 there's a lot of jobs CBS sports you got to be on a football show or now basketball show and they don't

usually have that many openings for hosts you know what I mean you're right I mean those jobs do exist it's just it's just such a small but if they're [ __ ] everybody up

there then why would you want there to be why would why would you want to go through the same uh the same uh TV

network hassle right like and And by now we've seen ESPN fire you for everything

for your political opinion, for your non-political opinion, uh for

I'm not going to go through their whole SL cuz they've lost a lot of people and sadly we haven't heard from many of them

after that and that's the point he's making. That's the fear. That's the point he's making. I can go to these other places, but today there's [ __ ] today, even

while you working your network job. And again, hate to sound like a broken record, but you also have to go home and

do your side job. Yeah. Like many of these sports expert people, they go home and do their show. But if

there's two there's two um former Sports Center um anchors from LA, Sports Center

LA, who left ESPN and then they got together and started their own [ __ ] doing it on Twitch.

And it was like it's it you talking about my man, I love him. I forget his name right now.

Uh uh Neil Neil and Stan. You could do that, but if you've been, and this is

the problem with um when you worked in corporate and you got

a check, that is what they are accustomed to. So, I'm I'm sure Molly was making seven figures at ESPN,

getting a check under that specific structure for the last 20 years. It's not so easy for somebody to just up and

go and start a podcast or start doing these other things. like that's just something that may not be in their

wheelhouse. Now, desperation or or circumstance will make you do those things, but that's just not something

that they could just go to another network. Like Marcus said, if you're accustomed to being an accountant and you worked at wherever you get fired,

guess what you going to do? Jump back and look to go get another accountant job. When you work in specific fields

like ESPN, FS1, there's not that many takers. So when they know you just got

fired from ESPN, now FS1 could lowball you and say you want to work. Although we are seeing expansion like even uh we saw Max this weekend on on

the fight at Netflix. So there's places like Netflix in boxing. He's always I know for sure. But it's been a while

since he's been there. And again, there's a new place for him to do this. And also to reply to you, whoever said

it would be easy, that's who cares that it's it's not easy. Yeah, I think if you're looking at the economy

as an American, there should be very few Americans that are just comfortable and

feel okay with getting their check. Actually, we should be at an alltime

high on alerts on just getting our check. That's that Damen Dash talk.

to not have vetted like Yeah. And to do this in the name of a battle

like and I know that that's what battle rappers do but all of them that was disgusting.

Hitman did some of the better rapping I've ever heard him do. Yes, he did. It sound like he was really

focused on he was doing schemes almost like Chiller Jones. That whole uh alcohol smearing

I've never heard him do that. Really great rapping from him in in the second.

But I felt like you just fell for Moo's trap now. like you rapping in a way I never heard you before. It says that not

only do you have the utmost respect for Moo, but Moo I feel like Moo was setting him up with that even before the battle.

Even during the battle when he was teasing his style and saying this simple [ __ ] y'all keep liking. So I thought

that was a point for Moo. And then Moo's second verse was dope. Mhm. And then the third Yeah. Yeah.

uh the simplicity yet difficulty of the bars that Moo does.
