college tuition payment for my my

youngest daughter last week.

tuition. If she decides she wants to be

a nail tech, I'm going to be mad as

[ __ ] There's nothing wrong with being a

nail tech. I We just could have did that

a lot cheaper for the amount of money I

spent on college. I could have bought

her a shop,

>> Mhm. like so. The money that you spent

in your investment means and matters

more than your child at any point

figuring out what they want to do, love

doing, and end up doing it.

>> It would just affect how I feel about

it. Ultimately, I would accept it, but

I'd still be pissed because of how much

money I put into it.

>> And I think I still think it depends on

what your endgame is. So, if you start

out as a nail tech, that's cool. But in

some point in the future, you want to

own your own nail spa, cool. You want to

start hiring estheticians? You want to

hire these people? Like I I'm not mad at

that. When we go get our nails done,

they make hella money.

wouldn't dissuade my kid from wanting to

go that route. But, I just think that

you shouldn't be just content with being

a nail tech forever. That's my opinion.

I'm good with any job. Just dignity and

all labor.

get ahead in this world, there are

certain things that you have to do.

go to college, get yourself um equipped

to get a certain type of job that's

going to sustain a future for you and

your family. We've been taught that. M

now we are on the influencer

entrepreneurial thing but there's still

skills needed to do that but if you

spent

dog my kids daycare is high as [ __ ] I

used know that [ __ ] is high um if you

and then when you start going to middle

school high school some of these high

schools are 30k you spend $30,000 a year

to put your kid in school from middle

school to 12th grade and then they go to

school for 90k a year for for the next

four to five years cuz a lot of these

degrees not fouryear degrees no on day

five. So that's another 450 grand.

>> And then they come to you and say, "Dad,

I learned that I want to be an MC."

>> Mhm.

>> Okay.

>> I'm actually okay with I'm not I'm not

>> I'm just asking I'm not okay with I

think that's slightly different.

>> I'm just saying you go to college.

>> Y'all always preach to me and again I'm

shutting up on this college tip. This is

not my bag. This college stuff. But

y'all always preach to me about

the networking and getting out the house

for the first time. My brothers is in

college. I seen them in my dad in their

room in my dad's house their whole life.

>> Now they in college. They meeting kids

from other places meeting girls with

different goals. Like y'all always

taught me that that experience

part.

>> If you go do that and now for the first

time a lot of kids are learning

themselves and finding themselves

outside of the academic portion of this

>> and you learn what you now enjoy doing,

maybe want to do, maybe got a friend or

a frat brother that done preached being

a salesman is the way to go. I made 200

grand. You know how it is. you hear some

[ __ ] and you give it a shot cuz you got

time on your side.

>> Like I wouldn't expect to go to my

parents and be met with disappointment

>> when I learn what I truly want to do.

>> I never told my mom that I want to be a

professional rapper.

disappointment comes from what whatever

you're you're telling them, yo, this is

what I want to do

>> realistically. Is it sustainable? Sure.

>> That's where the disappointment comes in

cuz like like even even you said the MC

example, I'mma be disappointed at that

because the the the odds are not really

in your favor. I think that's slightly

different cuz I think in in MCing or in

any type of artistic endeavor having a

college backup plan is good. A for that

and B, you'll learn so much in college

from like a worldly perspective that

will help you relate and translate.

It'll make you a better artist. Even if

you're a business major and now you want

to be an MC, the way you go take these

meetings at the label and all that other

[ __ ] may be a little different.

>> I think it's different from something

that's super hyper localized like a nail

tech where you could have done that. You

know what I'm saying? Without

necessarily leaving, you don't need all

the connections and uh community

building that happens at college and all

that kind of [ __ ]

>> And maybe not those connections.

Honestly, you might be better if if if

I'm going to be a nail tech in Newark,

I'm just going to say New York. It's

better for you to go to Ruckers Newark

than Harvard. if you want to build

connections and build that's what I'm

saying like it's it's about what you're

doing with those connections. Um I don't

know if I would communicate the

disappointment though to my kid. I would

be disappointed but I would I would

encourage them but deep down yeah I'd be

a little salty.

got a family member who

they went through nursing school and

towards the end decided I don't want to

do this and their parents paid to put

them through nursing school.

Now I just want to get a regular job. I

I I realized this late in the game that

I don't do. As a parent, you

disappointed as [ __ ]

>> I feel I feel like as a parent there's

just certain L's you got to take as a

parent.

>> You you can still be disappointed in

taking the L.

wouldn't say I'm disappointed. You would

go to the adult room

privilege. Mark was privileged enough to

be able to spend $90,000 a year on his

kid's education. Now imagine if you took

out student loans for that money as a

parent. Now you got a half a billion

dollar in debt. I mean half a million

dollars in debt now for your kids'

education. And they don't want to do

that [ __ ] You still got to pay these

[ __ ] back 450 grand. hot

interest.

something. You got to get my bread back

doing that. But anyway,
